    Alloy key

I've done the inevitable! gone and misplaced the key to remove the alloy locking nuts! it was always in with the jack under the boot but nows its disappeared. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do? thanks
  2. I did my belt and tensioner not so long ago. if your changing the tensioner then the belt will be off anyway. just make sure nothing moves! hsa anyone experienced difficulty in getting the cover back on, ie. lining up the middle bolt?
  3. has anyone got an idea of how much i could get for a home rebuilt super charger? phil

    G60 found!

i saw this evening a G60 in a trade ins bay at a VW garage. its in poor condition, broken fog lamp, very worn drivers seat, faded red etc. couldn't see how many miles it had done. not sure how old as there was also a personalised plate but it had the 2 slat grill and digital consol in the centre of the dash. i am planning on taking out the engine/gear box and dropping it into my c with my 16V head. would this be reasonably straight forward and how much should i pay for it, say with no mot? i'm going to go back tomorrow when its open to ask about it. cheers phil
  5. do the 2.0l 16v blocks come in 1H format or is it just the G60/rallye blocks. if not what would it take to uprate them? would it be possible to fit a Supercharger to a 2.0l 16v engine? cheers phil
  6. i fancy a project for the summer. I want a 2.0l G6016V, but not sure where to start. should i buy a G60, bore it out, (if it will take it) and replace the head with my current 16V head? second idea- buy a 2.0l 16V, uprate it (where necessary) and fit the charger or thirdly, stick with my current 1.8 16V, bore it out, uprate it and fit a charger. Quite a puzzle? any ideas will be much apreciated. i like a challenge! cheers phil
  7. there was an article in performance VW, (90% sure it was this magazine) quite a while back, it had a photo step by step guide to refurbishing a supercharger. just had a rummage to try to find the mag but sods law i can't. you could try to get a back copy. i'll try to find it to get the issue number and date phil

    Water Injection

sounds good but not quite clear, is it going to give me any advantages to my 1.8 16V? i've only had the head ported and polished and a home made cold air pipe fitted. phil

    Water Injection

Anyone had any experience with water injection. Seems to be over looked as i haven't seen it mentioned in the fourm, (unless i've missed it). Pros and Cons??? is it pos with Cs? i think its about £300 from demon tweeks for the kit. phil
  11. i'm still not clear, is it possible to get hold of variable intermitant wiper relays and swap for the one i currently have in my '90 16V?

    please don't break!

i really should have read the problems page first! i'm sure that i have the same problem as Purple-rado! a little job for the weekend then!
  13. i'm worried, there is a sort of ticking/light knocking rattle which has got worse recently. it is coming from whats seems to be the pulleys or from behind the pulleys. if i rev then it gets faster! it is most noticable on tick over. has anyone got any ideas. i really hope its not another expensive repair, i don't fancy another one of those! cheers for any suggestions phil

  15. Whilst my C was off the road, for 6 weeks!!!!!!!!! (could only work on it some evenings and a 2 week holiday abroad) the temperature control slider for the blower must have siezed so on the car's maiden voyage after the work i tried moving it from cold to hot, but very stiff then suddenly gave way. now when its moved to the "hot end" it just springs back to cold. not very helpful now that winter is coming!! any ideas, i haven't taken it out yet to have a look. cheers phil
