Those sound like famous last words mate! I'm sure it's not the HG too though. And you can tell your friends with Golfs that the only person who replied to your head gasket thread on the Corrado Forum who had changed one recently did so on a Golf no less! Speaks volumes....
-
Mole grips? Have you tried swearing at them?
-
Mate, you're rinsing that vid evil style! Wish I'd booted my G60 now but I don't think it would have had quite the same effect.... :( That's what you get when you keep your car standard I suppose.

If you're not getting any of the other symptoms associated with a blown head gasket then I would go with thermostat failure as suggested. I've just repaired a head gasket on my golf and that was overheating, using a LOT of coolant, producing white smoke constantly, using oil, had mayo coming out of everywhere, always had pressure in the cooling system no matter how long I left it and I had caught it pretty early as I had a feeling it was on the cards. You know when a head gasket is gone usually. All those symptoms by themselves can be caused by something else but when you get them all at once it's time to get the splined sockets out!

Was gonna say, lucky you didn't get a face full of battery acid! :pale:
-
Crazy isn't it! Junkie, did you get a nice firework display when you crossed the terminals?
-
You getting any white smoke from the exhaust after the car has been for a run? Mayo under the oil filler cap? Is there still pressure in the cooling system even when the car is cold?

CF F1 Fantasy League 09 -Final results...who won, who lost?
Sonicriot13 replied to The_Dude's topic in General Car Chat
...I'd love to believe that, but it's only going to happen if everyone except BMW and Force India disappear!  harsh, but true. Spain should be a good race and i feel there will be much improvement with Mclaren, Ferrari and Renault. But I cant see this helping Massa or even Koveleinen going by their past performances, they've had alot of bad luck. Yeah, Massa has had a real run of bad luck this season. But the only way is up, baby. -
Sounds like fun. Can we get a CD of VR6 noises on the stereo just to add to the illusion? Have you still got that thing I drove last time I was there? Can't even remember what it was called. The thing with the funky gear box.
-
As much as I love my G60 it ain't right at them moment. Decided after the Oxford meet that I'm gonna take it off the road for the next month or so and give it some attention. I've got to sort the clutch out. It's like trying to squash a unripe mango every time I want to change gear. Pants. And the suspension is finally gonna get changed. I'm also gonna give it a bit of a service.
-
Oh, never mind. You've just reminded me about wishbones and bushes. Something else to add to my list.... :(

Have a guess buddy! FORGOT TO SAY RESULTS ON 1st PAGE!!!!!!! Damn, I didn't look just in case it wasn't me. Yes, I still have Massa. Next time he'll win. I can feel it.... -
I can't help the pedantry. You know that. Is it gonna be on the road when I come and visit at the end of May?

Who's in last place? -
If I were you mate I'd do those in the reverse order. Would be good to see the old girl back on the road! :D The only time I've seen it not at your Corrado farm was at Edition 38 in 2007!

Old car scrappage scheme - it's kicking off!
Sonicriot13 replied to Sonicriot13's topic in General Car Chat
Well, almost at the end of the day and I've had about 10 enquiries today just on the scrappage scheme. I've heard from the manufacturer today and believe it or not some cars they are discounting further. So some models you will get up to £3350.00 for your scrap car including the £1000 from the government. I wasn't expecting that! -
Well Olive, your common sense doesn't exist.... But I have seen Lucy in real life. Yes, Lucy is a real person. My common sense on the other hand is questionable....

Old car scrappage scheme - it's kicking off!

Thing is though there is so little margin in those kinds of cars I'm just wondering where the manufacturer's £1000 is going to come from.... -
Cheers matey. :D No two panels on my car are the same shade of red. There's also a bit of a bad respray job on the OSF wing. It's orangepeeltastic. Also lacquer peel around the Corrado badge, a scrape on the sunroof which I'd rather not know how it got there, a bubble of rust on the NSF wing and various other stone chips and dings. Basically I need a body shop!

Like the scheme or not I haven't been at work even two hours yet and the phone has been ringing off the hook with people making enquiries about the subsidy offer. I bet we put our prices up in May. -
Mate, they're sweet. 8) You like you're black wheels! :D
-
Not again! This thread is like a dictionary of names now! Lucy won't let me take the Rado on holiday so when I come to see you next month I'll be in the Celica rice box. Is Lucy your alter-ego? Looks good for a polish dude 8) Lucy is my conscience and my common sense. And my girlfriend too....
-
I hate the GTi wheels too! I wanna get some Sebrings for that at some point.
-
Cheers for the comments guys. :D Yeah, wanna lose the steelies. I've been saying that for a while and never got round to getting some alloys. Some BBS rims would look nice standard or otherwise. Just gonna have to keep my eyes peeled and some money set aside. The body work on this car is pretty sound and the engine is good too. The charger is in excellent condition especially after the rebuild last December. Just got a bit of a top end rattle at cylinder one or two when you first start it (Darren at G-Werks didn't seem overly concerned by it) but once it's warmed up the rattle goes and it's sweet as anything and pulls really smooth. Just seems like a really solid base for a restoration.
