Hi peeps. I've noticed a little gremlin in the last couple of days. Once the Oil is at a nice 90 deg's, the digital read out then throws a wobbly and shows it as 60 deg's, it will then climb slowy into the 70's, and then immediately back to 90. It does this at any speed :? Also my outside temp is completely nuts! For example today, it was -15 deg's BRRRRRRR indeed. Any ideas? Anything I can have a little tamper with?? Cheers

My car has an awful clunking when turning at low speeds, parking for example. I have tried to read some of the posts in this thread but they all seem to go slightly off topic  Can anybody give me any pointers on what to check first. Pics would be a BIG bonus too as I don't know my tie rods to my valve caps! :? `

It's ok peeps, I've RTFM. Main Headlight = H4 High Beam = H3 Doesn't mention side lights though.

I have tried the search but every thread ends up 20 posts long with conflicting information, so here goes... I need to replace my Headlight bulbs. I have a standard set-up on a '90 valver. I hear Philips x-treme power bulbs are the one's to go for, but what Type? I need both Full beam and Main beam. I'd also like some new parking/side lights so do we have any suggestions for these? Cheers Dean

Shows you how little I know! It's actually the circular knob that has snapped off, I'll keep my eyes peeled for some Karmann jobbies then. Cheers!

Hi all, My drivers side window winder upper (not electric) snapped this morning. I'm wondering if its worth sourcing an OEM jobby (if so, where can I find them, will any other vw ones fit?) or whether its worth my while buying some tasty aftermarket ones? I've seen some wolfsburg editions and they look pretty cool but not what I'm after really. Anybody have any recommendations?

Well, fisrt of all I have to see to a little bit of debt but come Sept I should be able to start throwing some serious money at it. For the immediate future I'd like to sort out the following.... Bosch aerotwins so that I can actually see when it rains. New headlights so that I can actually see when it's dark. 3 Bar grille (already purchased) Sort out why it stinks on short journies Sort out the clunky steering Sort out the outside temp guage (today it read -22 :cuckoo: ) Sort out the squeeks from the interior, its louder than the stereo! Not have four tires that are different from one another. As for the future, I want to keep it as OEM as possible with a few custom touches, nothing too maxxy power though... New boot lid New Bonnet New front N/S wing Coilovers New alloys or, maybe a refurb Respray in Nogaro blue (high priority 8) ) with the possibility of some smoothing in areas Demi leather and alcantara re-upholster to the seats, and/or new front seats from current S3 General refurb of interior, was thinking Alcantara headlining, maybe some alcantara on the dash (sounds awful looks good) New Dials Some engine mods but needs to be reliable really. Generally just make it as nice as possible 8)

Thanks everyone, I have Pm'd Mr Beige. I live just around the corner from your folks then, Bereweeke road the new set of flats on the corner! As for the meet I'm not sure I can do next weekend but I'll put myself down when I know for sure! Cheers

Evening all, first question out of a possible hundred plus regarding my rado.... My car came fitted with a Mr Beige shift-light which is a really impressive bit of kit...However, a previous owner has set it to flash red at 3500rpm. Now this is fine when the engine's cold but rather useless at any other time. I know from doing a search that the shift light is fully customizable but nowhere does it say on how to do this. Would anybody be so kind as to point me in the right direction?? Cheers

Haha, tell me about it. I was offered -40mm springs but the ride is harsh enough as it is on the 16yo dampers. Coilovers soon me thinks!

Hi all, First proper post plus pics. I picked her up on Saturday and have only just had the chance to take some piccies. The car's great, in-fact I'd go as far as saying its a superior drive to both my old S3 and TT, if a little slower. Car has a few issues that need dealing with but I'll post in other areas to find out whats best to do. So for now, here is my little green rust bucket :D The cars a little photo shy on its near side I have a load more photos to go through but its just far to late for that kind of thing! Cheers

Bloomin great idea! I plan to do the same kinda thing in a few years!

I know what you mean, I used to own one but found it so bloody boring to drive! The car has no soul, yeah its quick, looks good and has a boot but thats all it has going for it. The recaros are great, but they sit too high, the servicing prices and general wear and tear repair prices are just ridiculous and it has the dynamics of a sponge pudding thats been left in the sun for a week. Its just a really dull car, even with a remap (although the shove in the back is addictive). Thats why I went for the TT (not needing a boot), I understand its that same car under the skin but its a much more pleasent car to sit in and drive. I've Not ever driven a corrado I'm not sure how it compares but I'm sure the Corrado's a more exciting drive. The other problem is that apart from the LCR their is nothing else out there really, unless you want a ricey type R.

If it was any other colour I'd take it, I'm just not a fan of white corrado's, sorry!

Small world indeed! Yeah, seen a few around for 2k, high milers though! Not sure I want to spend any more than that as its only going to be a run-around for a year!
-
Ahhhh, Mr Pollard!

Tasty it is, but it has a taste for falling apart and costing me an arm and a leg to fix! Needs must and all that, plus I'm fed up of all the hairdresser comments!

Hello all, I'm Dean and as you've probably guessed from the username I currently own a TT (225 coupe). I'm selling the TT at the mo to pay off some debt and am looking to buy a corrado (2.016v or VR, although not looking to spend more than 2k!!) as a run a round for a year or so before buying a new car. I will probably keep it after buying a new car so that I have something to work on and modify tastefully! I've had a quick look at the very usefull guides on here and they have given me a good grounding on what to look for etc, I'm sure I'll still ask some stupid questions though! Here's a pic of the TT... Cheers! Dean
