i'll definatley get some photos on the go.. the problem is ive connected it all up and the actuator motor (which controls the throttle) just seems to spin endlessly when the ignition is on, could do with seeing someone else' set up to make sure that wiring is all ok before i start looking at the actuator or ECU.

As far as i can tell it doesnt have any kind of vacum hoses, seems to work of the coil instead (fed from the tacho), just need to see how it is all meant to be wired up... previous owner unplugged it all.

This is a call for any information regarding cruise control on UK corrados..... When i bought my VR it came with a VDO Cruise control system (comprising of an ECU under the dash and a mechanincal actuator under the bonnent which pulls on a second throttle cable and what looks like the stalk shown in the manual), its always been broken but i never really thought much of it, now i want to get it working i cant seem to find any info about it at all. Does anyone know if this was factory/after market option (maybe like the Diavia a/c)? i know american spec cars had it but was it a VDO or was it VAG? any info would be greatly appreciated.... done loads of searches but kind really find anything out? ta

is the evapoarator still in the housing... that would be awesome. Just pulled out the norm/max switch to discover that its not connected to anything so would probably need the loom as well. How much do you want for the pair(minus fan and relays)? Im based in cheshire, where abouts is ace engineering?

hi guys, i know this is an old thread but does anyone know if it is possible to get hold of the original diavia blower housing unit, my vr has had a/c from almost new but it looks like someone has ripped out the a/c blower housing and replaced it for a stadard one when motor must have given up. also 3 of the wires have been cut in the part of the loom that is near the battery tray (a green, a green/black and white), these are next to 2 connectors, one looks like it has a resistor or sensor on it (orange, red/black) and the other is not connected to anything (yellow/green and red/black) if anyone could shed some light, it would be much appreciated? thanks

Does anyone know if the the front slam panel ever changed between the early and late spec models or was it just the wings? also is part of the strip that runs across the front, below the headlights and grill as this is what is bent? Just done my wing in and looking to repair it myself... if anyones got any advice would be a great help as i've never tried replacing a wing before... guessing the slam panel just bolts in? ta

cheers for that yanyards.... its pointing at the switch in the drivers side door, i know its ok tho as i've swapped them round and it definately works on the passenger side. So i guess it pointing at a dodgey wire/connection somewhere between the connector in the drivers door and the control unit/pump.... still cant find the control unit tho, its not not behind the rear quarter cards and its not near the pump.... unless its built into it (doesnt look big enough tho)?? Yanyards, You wouldnt happened to have a wiring diagram for the C/L would you? and if i manage to pin it down ill let you know straight away. thanks

i've just looked behind both rear quarter cards for the c/l control unit, on the passenger side there just seems to be some sort of signal amplifier, for the remote c/l or radio maybe (only a red and black wire with spade terminals) and on the drivers side i thinks its the electric window control module (unplugged it all and the passenger c/l still worked but the leccy windows stopped). can any shed some light where i might find it or even if one exists?

Hi staurt, i know these threads a bit old now but it seems like if got the same problem as you. My C/L works fine from the Pasenger side door including the full closure however the drivers side will only lock that side and nothing else, ive swapped the handles around and the problem stays so its def not the switch in the handle. the guy i bought it off removed the alarm system and i was hoping that when i get a new one fitted it will hook it all back up. Have you had any joy with yours and any chance you could shed some light on what needs doing, cheers.

Sounds like the same thing thats happening to mine, i've just re-done it and it looked like it was actually leaking from the lower elbow (which connects to the crack pipe) where it bolts to the thermostat housing. i've used a load of silicon to seal it up, gonna leave it a few hours before filling up again but ill let you know if its done the trick.

yeah i've checked all the hoses and they all seem to be ok, any thoughts on the housing seal? does the one in the pic look right to you guys, the profile is totally different to one i put back in. On the upside, engine is running much cooler now...... one step forward, two steps back!!!

So do you think it could be down to the blue and yellow sensors? what do these control and are they expensive to replace? also whats the black one for?

Really great write up, wish i had found it a few days earlier tho. just finished doing mine for the third time this week and i've still got a fecking leak... grrr!! there seems to be a small trickle of coolant running down the joint between the 'crack pipe' and the lower connector of the housing, there wasnt any leaks when i took it apart (thermostat was knackered) and all of the components all seem to be fine except for the lower connector (adjoining crack pipe), which has now been changed along with the seal and just to be sure i changed both seals on the crack pipe and the main seal that joins the cyl head but im still getting this leak. Can anyone tell me whether it would be coming from the connection from the crack pipe or could it be running down from the main joint to the engine, the seal that i took off doesnt really look like the one i got from VW, the old one had a square profile and the new one is round (housing has a square groove and i cant image it makin a great seal), could i have a none OE thermo housing? i have included a pic of the seal below. to make things really worse as well now the car doesnt seem to like starting when hot anymore, could this be an upset sensor?! Am really at my wits end with it and could really do with some advice if you got any, cheers!

Can anyone tell if there is a hose missing from the back of my air con pump? The air con hasnt worked since i got the car and im guessing thats the problem.... also where would the hose go to? and is it possible to get another one easily (have included a pic below)? Any help would be realy good, any diagrams of the air con system would be fantastic.... its the diavia setup i think. Cheers

Quite fancy a set of rial nogaros, has anyone got some pics of them on a C? want to check them out before making the leap. .... and are they a good quality wheel, dont really know anything about them.

Just put an order in for some BBS RX 16's but the guy from the shop has told me that BBS have stoppped producing wheels at the minute, a few other place have said the same thing as well, so there's gonna be a 6 week wait!!! Does anyone know of somewhere with them in stock, really desperate for them as one of my wheels is broken and dont really want any other wheels.

The back of my Vr6 is higher than the front... i bought it with Koni TA's all round and as far as i can tell the springs are 40mm Koni's as well. Is this normal of have they fitted incorrectly, the front is 605mm ground to arch and the back is 640mm!? .... will it sort it if i get a set H&R springs on there, heard theyre the best combo?

The wheel is actually cracked all the way through... big enough to loose air through! there is a place near me that specialise in alloy welding but i dont fancy it. Too late now got some BBSs on the way. So by my rough calculations if a 7.5" wheel has an offset of 35, a 7" wheel of the same kind should be 29 to bring the outside edge of the wheel to the same place? Someone tell me if im talking complete bllx pls.
