  2. 2.0 16v | Brilliant Black metallic | Hull Price: £1400 Description: Due to a change in circumstances I am selling my pride and joy, my 2.0 16v Corrado. I have owned this car for the last 3 years and have loved every minute of it. I am a VW enthusiast and this is my third VW. I love vw's and have always bought them and done them up, and this was my third project, it is not far from being finished but I have just bought a family car, so the corrado unfortunately has to go. Okay where to begin.... Stance - Its rolling on rare 'Remotec' 15" deep dish wheels. I don't know what type they are, they look like the 'type B's' except the mesh is convex, curves outwards. They are painted in vw candy white and have red Borbet center caps. The dishes all need polishing to get them back up to a good standard, the drivers nearside has some kirbing, the rest are all mint. The tyres are 185/55/r15s and have a small stretch to them, nothing crazy. All are legal and have about 4mm of tread on them. The fronts have 25mm spacers and the rears have 35mm spacers, the stances looks great, they fill the arches and there is no rubbing at all. It has Fk non adjustable suspension with 60mm Fk lowering springs, this has given a good drop in ride hide but kept the handling as good as possible. It looks good and handles good and can get over the majority of speed bumps with no scrapping of the front splitter. Inside- I think everything from the inside has been removed and replaced. The whole of the inside has been stripped down and 4mm of foam insulation has been glued to the floor. I then added the wiring for the heated seat loom, and changed the carpet to black. When the inside was stripped I installed a new heater matrix and a Grey Flocked dash, it has a few worn bits (around the headlight switch) but still looks good, and again is a rare item. I still have the black dash which can be included if the flocked isn't to your taste. The lower dash shelves and the dash vent are black which contrasts with the grey of the dash and looks really good. The center console was cracked, so I glued it back together. This looked messy though, so I wrapped it in a carbon fiber adhesive, and the dash vents and speedo surround too. The center console has since re-cracked and looks messy again. I have just bought a new center console which I will install when it arrives. The switch gear has been changed from the oem green bulbs to red leds and looks much better. The 3 dials for the heater controls are back lit with red 'el wire' so they show up much better at night. In the door handle release levers and above your head by the map light there are purple UV running lights, and in the lower dash shelves there are red leds to light up the foot wells. Next to the headlight switch there is a red led voltage gauge, and I have just bought two 52mm vdo gauges, oil temp and oil pressure, which if i get chance will be installing soon. There is a rare oem style gear knob that lights up red when the lights are turned on. The speedo has ddi Dub Design Industries plasma dials which look amazing at night, the led's behind the lcd's have been changed to red, and there is reverse polarity film on the front of the leds, so instead of being a red background with black numbers you get a black background with red numbers. The three led's above the dials have been removed and I have added a UV strip of leds, the dial surrounds and the needles have been painted in red UV paint, and glow up at night. There is a grey leather heated interior. This is in good condition, the drivers side bolster has cracks and a rip in it, from when I bought it. I clean it regularly and moisturise them, this has helped them from cracking anymore and the rip from getting any worse. The cable for the drivers side seat release has come loose and at the moment to tilt the seat forward you have to release the hook at the base of the seat with your hand. The cable is still intact it just needs the cover taking off and tightening up. The seats heat up nicely and are amazing in winter, or anytime of the year to be honest, its only with the last few weeks warming up that I have switched them off. I made a custom parcel shelf which has got two 12" JBL subs mounted in it. This adds to the bass but without having a box doesn't give you the over the top bass that you can hear before you even see the car. These are powered by a small alpine amplifier on the back of the rear seats. The headlining was removed when I fitted a new sunroof, while it was out I sprayed it black to match the rest of the trim. There is a small flat bottom steering wheel instead of the larger stock item, I prefer the flat bottom so you can have the steering wheel low without it catching your legs. Exterior - I am a big fan of the simple euro style. The rear end has been De-badged and smoothed over. The rear lights are all red, they have had thin red strips stuck to them, so from a distance they look like a solid red block but up close they are stripped, like the old school scirroccos. Being striped they let out the original light colour so you will have no problem for MOTs or from the 5-0. I have modded the brake lights so that the rear fog lights come on at the same time, giving you 4 brake lights instead of 2. The front end has an old style 7 slat grill with blacked out vw badge. The headlights have had the surrounds painted black and the reflector has been tinted amber. The indicators and side repeaters have a matching amber tint. The front lights again have been modified, the indicators have a separate loom and side light bulb going to them, so when the lights go headlights go on they do to. Like a daytime running light, but you can distinguish between the running light and the flash of the indicator for turn signals. It has the 90mm deep front splitter, this is cracked from speed bumps but I have stitched it up with zip ties and It is oiled regularly. The sunroof had broke when I bought it, so that has been replaced with a glass unit from a mk3 golf, it's not a perfect fit, but it all works, tilts and slides. The passenger side window mechanism was also broke when i bought it, the cable had snapped. I have just, this morning swapped a new one in, and it is working perfectly. The wing mirrors and the rear view mirror have been tinted blue, this helps to reduce glare from headlights behind you. After market side skirts have been fitted, not sure of the make though, they were already fitted when i bought it. The paint work is the worst part of the car, it had loads and loads of little knocks all over it when i bought it. I have filled and smoothed all of these and the result is much better. The paintwork has been re lacquered, and sanded with 1500 grit and then 2000 grit wet dry paper. It has then had a couple of goes with a paint restorer and then been polished and buffed. I have tried to get it looking as good as possible but it would benefit from some money being spent on it. Under the bonnet- The 2.0l 16v engine is in good condition. It is in at the garage at the moment having some work done for it's MOT. It failed on its handbrake cable, and a anti roll bar D bush had perished. The handbrake cable has been replaced and they are replacing both side D bushes on Tuesday 2nd, apart from that it sailed through its mot. It is all standard engine wise, power is 135bhp, it pulls really well in all gears, and has a steady constant power through every gear. It has a standard air filter but the box has been drilled to make it sound a bit throatier. The engine starts fine every time, summer or winter, and doesn't burn any water or oil. It has a stainless steel exhaust system which was on when I bought it, it looks nice and sounds great, not too noisy. 12 months MOT 5 months tax V5 present

  6. Can anybody help me...? I am looking to buy the JVC KD-NX5000 head-unit. In england they cost a stupid amount about £800 where as in america you can pick one up for about £360. The problem is i am having trouble finding out whether the american road maps can be deleated off the hard drive, and replaced with european ones. If anyone has bought one, or is thinking the same as me and can shed any light i would be very grateful to hear from you. Jim
