  1. Haven't seen the program but just saw an advert for Fifth Gear with Plato crouching next to a white VR6. Anyone seen the episode? Know if its been on already?
  2. Got it sorted, needed a new battery. Initial battery checks seemed fine but wasn't holding charge properly.
  3. Swapped over the ignition switch and still nothing. Anything else minor it could be?
  4. Had a look about and that seems to be the common answer. http://www.corrado-club.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8617 Give this a go. If its an easy fix for less than a tenner I can dry my eyes.
  5. Looking for a bit of advise, went to drive Corrado and its not turning over. Battery and handbrake light come on as normal, oil and coolant flash as normal. Coolant light goes off, battery and handbrake stay on with oil flashing. Check oil and level is fine, checked battery and it is fine. It's like the immobilizer is on but it's not as dash lights come on. Alarm central locking doesn't seem to be working either.
  6. Got this a couple of months ago. Had a valver a few years ago and always promised myself a VR6. Found this storm in great condition, really cared for by previous owner. Just got the suspension lowered. Tad high at the front but will wait until I decide on wheels before I adjust it again.
  7. Pair of 25mm spacers, hubcentric Spacer Type: DRA Width: 25mm Bolt Pattern: 5/100 Center Bore: 57.1 Bolt or Stud: Bolt Thread Type: 14x1.5 Just looking for £70 (+£5 postage) Based in Stonehaven, just south of Aberdeen.
  8. Found a set of 5x100 Borbets so its all good.
  9. My previous corrado (91, 1.8 16v) had borbet A's on and I really want to put them on my VR6. Can't find 5x100 Borbet A's. Might just resign myself to choosing different wheels.
  10. Hi Jonathan, Thanks for the reply. I am putting car in to garage to get suspension swapped over for lowered. Sorry if you're repeating yourself but could you list parts I would require to do the change - 2 x rear 4 x 100 hubs (standard rear brakes from VR6 would fit?) 2 x front 4 x 100 hubs 2 x front brakes (existing 288mm brakes wouldn't fit?) Should this all be ok with koni struts and springs.
  11. I have recently bought a VR6 and really want to put 4x100 wheels on to it. Can’t seem to find adapters. How much work would it take to change all the hubs to 4x100? Previous owner has upgraded the brakes to 288mm. Is there any complications that would occur changing the hubs over. I would probably get a garage to carry out the work. Would save me having to get adapters etc.

    Borbet A 5x100

Seem to be like hen's teeth in 5 stud but please let me know if you have. Bought some new wheels and I'm getting dogs abuse for having them. So back to the original plan of Borbet A's.
  13. Anyone bought these recently? 2 driver lupo wipers c/w blades are £147 from vw. Worth it??

    VR6 Corrado

Have a need to get back in a Corrado. Up in Aberdeen so not ideal. Would be willing to travel for the right car. Would go for condition over mileage but would like to be under the 140k if possible. Wanting to spend about £2500 max. What you got?
  17. Bonus points for owning an ipad and a corrado but you're ruining both by attempting that. Repeat after me. I am not in a fast and furious film and I will respect myself.
  18. Hi, all. Recently had my valver in getting new wheels and tyres fitted and got the mechanic to look over the car in general. My mate works at the garage so I trust their judgement and they've done previous work well. He gave me a list of work that's gonna need done in the future. Was just wanting opinions on what should be done first and and a rough idea of cost. -Slight movement in both front strut top mountings -Rear handbrake securing clips missing -Handbrake cable frayed -Wear in both front suspension arm bushes -Engine oil sump corroded -Oil leaks ingearbox and cyl head areas -Fuel pipes corroded -Fuel tank securing straps corroded -Oil dipstick tube plastic sleeve broken. I presume that these aren't urgent or they wouldn't have let me take the car back, but they're gonna need done at some time. Just need to know what to do first.
  19. I'm not driving it unless to a garage. Need new hub because the stud is jammed inside it. I thought it could be drilled out but not possible according to guy at kwik fit. Got it booked into mates garage next week. Think hub might have previous damage, same corner was wobbling when fitted new wheels. Learned my lesson, going to get pro to sort this and fit new wheels, hopefully.
  20. What should the specs be? I've had so many people telling me different things I'm finding it hard who to believe. It is on the same wheel as the wobble. Think the thread on the hub might be damaged. Not 100%. It's booked into garage next week for something unrelated. Get them to look at it then. Should have just got a pro to fit the new wheels, saved myself all this nonsense. Thou if the hub was dodgy, guessing this would have happened the next time I needed new tyres or got a puncture.
  21. I'm having a nightmare. Bought new alloys, didn't fit properly, tyres too big, took them off. Put old wheels back on drove for 50 odd miles and stopped to check the studs were tight. And one of them snapped. Took car to garage and the boy reckons it needs hub and disc replaced. Cost 200 min. But he'd have to take it apart before he could say for sure. So now as well as having to buy new tyres for my new alloys that don't fit it looks like I'm replacing the whole setup. Mechanic says it's alright to drive with three studs just now. Just got to add it to my ever growing list of problems. I was considering replacing all the brakes because you can see them throu the new alloys, anyone got a rough estimate of how much that woud cost me, calipers, discs, labour? :pale:
  22. As well as tyres and brakes most cars are fitted with mirrors. I'm not driving about with the wheels wobbling everywhere I was just after some advice before I went and sorted them out for new tyre etc. I thought the idea of a forum was to gain knowledge, not so folk can take the piss because you lack it?? :notworthy:
  23. The sound has developed from a knocking, realised when I was looking in my mirror when driving that one was wobbling slightly. So need to sort that. Might try putting the bolts that were on the car on instead of the ones that came with the wheels. The other side is grinding when I corner, sometimes, but I noticed the exhaust was loose because of a corroded exhaust rubber so it might be that?? Remember thinking the suspension was close when I fitted them. It's just got the original suspension, was gonna see what wheels looked like before I changed that. Looks like I might need to fork out for new tyres. Things are never as easy as you hope. The boy who sold me them said it wouldn't need spacers?? Take it I need them regardless of if I change the tyres. Spacers would probably be cheaper than new wheels. They totally change the look of the car, i love it.
  24. Size is 7,5J x 16 ET 30 PCD 4 x 100 with 225/45/ZR16 tyres. The tyres are quite big for the wheels but they seem fine. Would think the front would be more likely to rub. The guy who sold me them said they came of a G60. So they should fir my valver fine. Looking throu previous postings I did notice my exhaust was needing the rubber replaced but the knocking is coming from the other side of the car. See if this photo helps more.
  25. Just bought a set of borbet 16's off the internet and fitted them myself. They look amazing and they were close to rubbing, especially on the front but seem alright. There does seem to be a slight knocking coming from the rear offside, only happens above 10mph and knocking gets faster as I do. Haven't taken it too fast yet. Got up and fitted them before my work. Seems to be worse when cornering. Is it just the suspension getting use to the new riding height or something??
