  1. Collected my car last night from Sale VW Specialist after having new shocks & handbrake and brake fluid change, all appeared well then a couple of minutes later, just on the M60 entry slip lane had a complete loss of power  Car would start but then die instantly :? With a little help limped back to the garage by tying the throttle control switch ? open with some string that I had in the boot. Still didn't run smoothly though so that not the problem. Not sure what is wrong and when I will get it back :( Was still feeling chuffed that the garage had fitted VR6 Shock Absorbers at the same price as 16v ones as they coudn't get hold of any 16v shocks.
  2. Yeah, bodywork seems great. Being done tomorrow by VW Specialist in Sale - O/S/R Caliber (handbreak mechanism siezed) - Both rear shock absorbers leaking - Brake compensator valve siezed - O/S/R flexi brake pipe insecure - Exhaust being remounted - Brake Fluid change Then will be as good as new. Can't wait
  3. Thanks :) Stainless Steel Scorpion Exhaust, Was already fitted prior to purchase, makes a healthy noise!!! Cheers
  4. Sat in my 2.0L 16v last night (only owned for 10 days) fitting a new phone holder and a bloke knocks on the window asking if I would like to sell it, his brother is Corrado mad and has VR6 and he wants a Corrado too. Said he came past earlier and had been checking out the bodywork etc and couldn't believe that its rust free and still got all the original alloys, front spoiler etc. Cool Best bit was that my girlfriend had just got in as we were on our way out. Cheers

Hi All Thought I'd say hello, just joined today, live South Manchester but originally from Chesterfield. Bought my 1st Corrado last week 1992 2.0L 16v Aqua Blue 102K on the clock. Other soon to be previous car Mk3 Golf 1.6GL. Very impressed so far (spend a large amount of my day staring out my office window at it). Been serviced (VW Specialist in Sale) and the results are - O/S/R Caliber (handbreak mechanism siezed) - Both rear shock absorbers leaking - Brake compensator valve siezed - O/S/R flexi brake pipe insecure Possible MOT fail: - Rear brake discs corroded - front break discs worn Advised: - O/S/F wishbone bush worn slightly (do at next service) - Exhaust system poor fit and mounts perished (but exhaust OK) - Rear axle bushes perished - brake fluid change Going to get most of it sorted next week, as expected really for 15yr old motor. Anything to watch out for(apart from speed bumps!) / tips? Cheers
