  1. Can anyone hazard a guess at % per VR6 / 2.0 / 1.8 / G60 based on original manufacturing % Just curious Cheers
  2. Door trim off and back on. Thanks for the thread with diagram and info on how to do it. New nob added and seems to be working just fine :D I hope that is the end of it but knowing these cars, unlikely..
  3. Cheers for the replys. Just need to know how to take the door card off!! Will do a search as I guess this is already detailed somewhere.
  4. All of a sudden the fuse keeps blowing that controls the electric windows and the central locking (traced from earlier posts by others, cheers) and I've replaced this a few times this afternoon as I've tried to suss out what the problem is. Its defiantly? the central locking I think. Sometimes the passenger door doesn't lock when I use the fob, but will if I use the key. Well anyway the pin / nob that pops up and down has been missing ever since I had the car and I think when it tries to lock it is catching on the inside of the trim. Would this cause the fuse to blow? If so, how do I get at it to fit a replacement (any suggestions btw) Cheers and Merry Humbug to all
  5. a10 yrg.JPG[/attachment:3okt6tal] This is mine (present from my OH) My name is Aidy Riggott
  6. Definatley Head Gasket gone / going now. Oil is now getting white mush and steam out of the exhaust. Is Steelseal worth a try?
  7. Hi I've been losing coolant quite quickly over the last few weeks so my 2.0L 16v was taken to a reputable Manchester garage. Their opinion was "Checked for coolant leak. Suspect water ingress into engine. Carried out compression test and found cylinder 1 too high. Suspected head gasket leading to water ingress into cylinder1. Requires new head gasket" Also think they mentioned compressions was 4.5 and there was water in the cylinder but hard to tell as poor phone signal. (The notes above is what they have given me) Mileage = 109k 1992 2.0L 16v Suspected the head has already been changed by previous owner No white mush under Oil cap (clean as a whistle) No real loss of power (Just a touch bit exhaust is blowing a little) Do you think its the head gasket or are there other possibilities or things I can check for? Also if I had it done do I need to change all the spark plugs? Cam belt has also been recently done (Is this the same as the Timing Belt?) Any opinions appreciated. This may lead to the death of my valver (or sale anyway)!! Not really knowledgeable mechanically so sorry if i've asked anything obvious Cheers
  8. Cheers. I'll have a look at the weekend. Is the aerial easy to remove?
  9. Corrado has had a JVC Stereo / CD player added at some point but It has never picked up a AM or LW radio signal. FM is fine though. Any obvious reasons? Just a little annoying thats all. Cheers
  10. Cheers for the info (I think...) They'll be staying anyway as wallet empty through updating a number of 'little' problems, but nice to know there not that common (not that there is a problem with that) Any idea of value? (Just curious)
  11. Lol. Have to be careful as the central locking seems to be really good on these cars. Have unlocked mine whilst its been parked out on the drive and not realised until the next day!! Does anybody have any idea what the 'range' is on the central locking. Keep trying mine from afar when parked in empty car parks etc but have to be careful, always worried it may not lock when I'm 100 yards away etc. As a side note does anybody know what alarm and immobilser was fitted as standard of the Corrado?
  12. Hi Just doing a bit of research on my car (1992 2.0L 16v) and wondered what the alloys on it are (see pics) Original standard fit maybe? Curious to value and history, what other cars they were on etc. Sorry if been posted before. Cheers
  13. Hi I think there is a possibility that my 1992 2.0L 16v has had a new cylinder head at some point and it was from a 1.8L model. This might sound odd as I drive the car, but how do you think this affects the running and performance etc (Its the only Corrado I've ever driven so I have nothing to compare it too). There are no obvious problems and it averages 28-30mpg on the daily grind. Cheers for your help / opinions
  14. Any news on the non starting? (I currently have this problem and I don't think my fan is kicking in properly either) Cheers
  15. Hi I've been having a few running & starting problems with my 2.0L 16v and after a visit to Awesome GTI in Irlam they have recommended a visit to Camco 88 in Warrington, to have the wiring and the ECU looked at, with a view to sending the ECU away to be reprogrammed if necessary. Anybody been there / had this done / any idea how much it might cost? Cheers
  16. Hee Hee Justice for a change:) Worth noting the importance of getting all the details etc upfront with pictures too, at the time with a phone if you can, where it happened with the vehicles etc still in place. Can take better pics with a digicam later. I myself have had a bump and thought the damage was minimal until I'd seen properly in the cold light of day and found it worse than initally thought and beware hidden damage not seen just by a quick look at the bodywork etc. Well done though, oh the value of 'Little' brothers
  17. Car back home now and in fine fettle. :D How long will it last?
  18. Cheers. Might give 97RON a go then, see how it feels. What mpg do you average in city / town driving? MFA says about 27mpg but not checked how accurate that is yet. (Do a few miles on the M60 each day, about 7 each way)
  19. Apologies if this has been asked before. I'm new to Corrado ownership and this forum, and having just read the cheap fuel thread, and the stats about the different results form the different fuels I wondered what fuel is best for a 2.0L 16v. Currently (when on the road!) its getting 95RON from Asda mainly because of the 2p off a litre when you use an Asda Credit Card. Any recommendations most welcome. Cheers
  20.  Aw man... That's gonna haunt you! ;)[/quote:92b73] ever the optimist :) parts not arrived yet though :(
  21. Problem diagnosed as most likey to be with Fuel Pressure Regulator and the Air Flow Meter. Spent a good few hours (10+) trying to trace parts (£250 & £770 from vw (how can that be? grrr)) and have eventually got them both for £70 from a breakers down south somewhere - Stevens. Seemed really helpful, knew I could sub some Passat parts but managed to find them in a Corrado he had buried out back. Really helpful people. Should arrive tomorrow then off to the garage and hopefully (everything crossed) back on the road. A week seems life a lifetime when its in the garage :( Then off to Kwikfit / National Tyre to get the front alloys resealed and the exhaust remounted then trouble free motoring ahead :? Cheers
  22. 1995 Fiat Punto 75SX 1.4L Pillar Box Red, Electric Windows & Sunroof, Stereo controls on the steering wheel. Buzzy little engine, nippy, easy to wheelspin and started to shake at 85mph. Drove into the back of an idiot who stopped dead on a wet road (suspected dodgy insurance claim) then moved onto Mk3 Golf GL 1.6L (about to be sold :( now I have my 1st Corrado :D ) Cheers
  23. Please help My 92 2.0L 16V Corrado is garaged at Sale Volkswagen (VW & Audi specialist just off M60 J7) with running problems, starts but cuts out etc, and the problem has been diagnosed as likely to be with the Fuel Metering Head or the Airflow Motor. We are trying to source 2nd hand parts but would love to meet up with somone who would allow a quick swap of parts in the garage to rule this in or out. Crate of beer for the temporary donor. PM me for further detials. Thanks
  24. I bought my 92 2.0L 16V from them about 3 weeks ago. Guy with about 8 in his back yard in various states of repair trading in cash only, not interested in trade ins either. Seemed honest enough and was able to knock him down a bit. Whether value for money yet, hard to tell. Car in garage (see post 'Newbie' in Members Gallery) Cheers
  25. Sale VW-Audi (ex Chorlton) just of M60 J7 Hopping mad!!! No not yet, going to try and find out today. Will post progress later on.
