I need one for my car too. Do you know the part number or will any mk3 one fit a VR6 rado? What about models with and without EDL?

Thanks for the help. Its certainly strange because changing the battery definitly improved it loads. What is the partnumber for the valve block I need too get? Does anyone have any going cheap on here?

As I say I've vag com'd it and the faults are about the valves but only when the light is on I get the faults. When the light is off the abs works perfectly!

I see what your saying but that wouldn't explain why the light goes off when the car is turned off and on would it? Ive just been out driving and the light hasn't come on once (I still have the good battery in) so the battery has definitely improved it having only illuminated the light once in 4 days..... The old battery it would come on every day at least once.

Just tested my voltages. All fine. Its weird that changing the battery fixed the problem for a few days.... does that throw any light on anything else? As for vag com, when the light is off there are no faults but if I scan it with light on I get a fault to do with valves, but surely it cant be becuase why would reseting the car fix the problem each time? When the abs is light is off it works perfectly and no amount of abs use will make the light come on, it just comes on totaly at random without even touching the pedal.

I've been having an intermittent fault with my abs where the light comes on randomly and goes off if i reset the car. It was doing it everyday. I read somewhere that it could be the battery getting knackered so I swapped it for a known good car battery and the light didn't come on once for 2 days and the abs was working fine so I thought that was problem fixed until on the way home today it came back on again. Turned car off and on when I stopped at the lights and it was off again. Anyone have any ideas? Could the alternator be not working fully?

You have a PM. Is there a way of testing the relay by bypassing it to see if that fixes the problem? Also is that the relay thats behind the glovebox?

Thanks for that. The problem was that sometimes at total random the light would come on and the abs would switch off until I restart it. This other module off ebay doesnt work at all! I will look out for the E revision module you have and give one of them a go. That way I can eliminate control module probs.

Does anyone know what modules should be fitted to certain cars? My car had 1HO 907 379 C fitted but i was getting some random problems with the abs and vag com wasn't showing anything so I thought I would change the control module to eliminate that, but one from ebay is 535 907 379 E. The ebay one makes the light illuminate permanently and nothing in vag com and no abs. The original module isn't the original I don't think as the red gluey stuff over the connector had been broken. So I need to know what part number my car is meant to be fitted with! Its a '93 VR6.

Where is the ABS Control module located on a 93 vr6? :?

Door handles all sorted now. Such a silly thing, I can't believe I didn't think of unscrewing the adjuster! They work sweetly, much better than the knackered old corrado ones.

Nah I put new fluid in when I did my rear beam bushes. Oh well its not a priority job, ill just keep an eye out for the bits as and when. But I'm still confused about the part number issue.... Can anyone check what partnumber theirs is for me? :)

Yeah they are correct numbers. I personaly removed them from the back of a mk3 passat. I will have another go this weekend. Ive got a sunroof to fit, and front wheel bearings too! Any spare time I want to totaly flush my coolent and put G12 in. Busy weekend :) Thanks for your help :D

I bought a set of handles and mechanisms off a mk3 passat to de-lock my corrado. I was under the impression that they fitted on and worked as they are? They dont, the handle when pulled doesnt push the lever on the mechanism down enough to open the door. Is there some kind of mod that has to be done to them?

Ive just bought myself a new sunroof but its the wrong colour. If I fit it in the car as it is and get it all working, can I then swap the colored panels over with it in the car? Or do I need to do that with the mech out of the car? I'd rather swap it over once Ive got it in and working so I have less chance of messing somthing up with it laying on the garage floor.

The partnumber on my abs unit I stuck in as I showed in the pic above and droped part number came up. However the dropped number is different to the one that comes up if I browse for the parts manualy. Thats why I'm confused there.... As for faults: And thats when I get get connected to the ecu with my laptop. It keeps droping out and saying 'attempting to re-establish connection' but I tried it on my mates g60 which works fine and it does that on there too. As I say, most mornings when I get in to go to work I turn the key and the lamp flikers then goes out. I drive off with no problems and the abs works fine if I slam the brakes on. Then randomly on odd days the lamp will just come on when i'm going along, either slow or fast, and then the abs doesnt work until i turn it off, take the key out and re-start it again.

Right Ive just been under the bonnet and on Etka. The thing I was on about looking like a master cylender apears to be the abs unit on a early corrado. Mine has a normal master cylender connected to a seperate ABS ecu and valve block. The part number for the abs unit in my car is 358 614 217. I looked this up on ETKA and it has a dropped part: I decided to check this against the parts listing under the corrado and found this one for my car: As you can see the part number is slightly different to what I have in my car. Now I don't know what one I should be looking for? As for the ecu, the one in my car is 1H0 907 379 C, which on Etka is now dropped to 1H0 907 379 E which makes perfect sence to the listing for my car.

You mean the multiplug? Ive had that off and sprayed contact cleaner and re-seated it. Makes no difference. Some times it will stay off and another day it will come on when im cruising along a dual carrageway without even touching the pedal. When lights on the abs doesnt work. When light is off it works perfectly.

Hi there, my ABS light comes on occasionally and totally at random. I decided to look into the bits I might need to fix it. So far Ive come up with the ECU, ABS Unit (looks like a master cylinder to me??) and the control + regulator unit. I know my sensors are all good. I vag-com'd it and got an error to do with valves. Which component are they in? I realize they aren't in the ecu lol but could the ecu be giving false codes? When the light is off, my abs and edl works perfectly. :?

I used standard bushes from GSF, but I know you can get powerflex bushes for them

I recently did mine becuase of nasty clonking. All fixed now. I used the hacksaw method to get the old ones out and the got the beam up on the workbench on some blocks of wood and got some various sized sockets bluetaced together that went around the new bush, so i could get it in the vice, then tightened the vice up to squeese them in. They were so tight though but I got them in in the end.

I need a new knock sensor for my vr too, so if you find a cheap suplier of them I will be very interested! I don't want to et one 2nd hand really as it will probably pack up again! It doesnt seem to affect my engine running at all though, maybe just less performance but I wont know until I replace it if it improves.
