  1. Very fair point Jim. Noted. I'm happy to wait for the right owner, from this great forum hopefully which has some extremely knowledgable and fun guys on it who are responsable for keeping these great cars on our roads. Not posted much over the years with regret but certainly benefited from the knowledge on here and had a chuckle or two reading some posts.
  2. I'm using the classifieds section to sell my corrado, one thing i would say is that the counter showing 274 'views' is useful but i've actually had more queries about the car via Pistonheads than from the forum. Just some feedback. I'm not sure if old or new is better.
  3. I've got that tyvek one VR6Pete. It does the job well but it is a bit bright silver and reminds me of an old ladies showercap! Like i said though, it does the job so don't let me put anyone off. Jon
  4. Yeah it does look unlikely 8vMatt but i've just tracked down his post and the corrado world is quite small so he may still be in touch with guys from the forum. Anyone who knew StormVR6 and his old car may also want to have look at it now as its up for sale.
  5. http://the-corrado.net/classifieds.php?do=viewitem&itemid=1008 Hi Mark, not sure if you visit here any more but here is your car mate. Its ready for a return if you want it? ) otherwise it will be going to a new enthusiast soon. Jon
  6. Thanks FishWick, I've certainly enjoyed my Corrado and most likley will return to one in the future once i've tried (and probably failed) to enjoy anything else. It's the best car i've ever had by far, they're solid, stylish and German engineering at its best. The rear active spoiler still makes me smile, do we really need it or is it just there for us to watch in the rear view mirror as it pops up? I'd love to have been a fly on the wall of those Corrado thinktank meetings all those years ago. What always amazes me on virtually a weekly basis someone comes up to you and says great car mate, i always wanted one of those, or my mate had one of those when they first came out. That said its everything i'd ever wanted in a car so i'm asking myself daily at the moment why am i selling? Shameless link again to my advert below. I just want to try something else now before my kids grow up and i have to share a Corsa or Fiesta! http://the-corrado.net/classifieds.php?do=viewitem&itemid=1008 PS - One other great thing about Corrado ownership is the support you have here on the forum from some great guys all appreciating the same thing.
  7. Hi Tom, did the passenger side headlamp go in the end? otherwise i'm after it as one of my clips is broken. thanks Jon
  8. Hi Tom, I'm looking for a good condition leather steering wheel. Has yours gone? Also after 2 good condition headlamps as my screw clips a broken. Presume if you had these they have already gone? Thanks Jon

    Sky Insurance

Recently moved to Sky Insurance from HIC. Spoke to Luke who was a joy to speak to after doing the rounds speaking to others who have no idea what a Corrado is let alone a Storm model is. Luke went through all the details efficiently and it was a very easy decision to swap over to Sky. Heard good things about them and I would also recommend them. I have been with a mixture or Adrian Flux and HIC in the past and they have been good but in my experience HIC's service has gone backwards over the years, having to wait on the phone for long periods each time I call and in the last 2 years their payment system has been poor. Cards fail to go through and last year they took payment of over £500 twice! As i have a Schrick and upgraded supension it can make shopping around really hard work but Luke at Sky Insurance made it so easy as it seems all the guys there love their cars! give them a go an they should price match for you
  10. Just to complete the thread my rear left ABS Sensor has now been replaced and along with a brake fluid change my ABS Sensor comes on with the ignition check and then goes off and stays off! :D
  11. Thanks Kev. It may well have been me although during your lunch break I'd be in London so maybe my car has a mind of its own?! :? Maybe its Herbie reborn. I also think you've driven my car before when it was owned by Mark Broderick!? I think the ABS errors are here to stay so i will prob go for the sensors to be swapped then and hope that warning light free driving fun returns. May also PM you if you don't mind. Jon
  12. Although i've not posted much here before I bow :notworthy: to all you corrado geniuses who help keep as all on the road. About 5 years ago I was lucky enough to take ownership of a much loved Mystic Blue VR6 Storm from a guy in West Byfleet which has been mostly low maintenance and very enjoyable. Following a recent brake disk change I’ve ended up with very squeaky brakes (maybe just because they are still new?) but more annoying in the last week I now have an intermittent ABS light coming on. Previous owner Mark had all the gear and supplied me with VAG software and cable to plug in for diagnostics. This is where I need to ask on here about reading the following errors; Address 03: ABS Brakes Controller: 1H0 907 379 E Component: ABS/EDS TEVES 04 4 Faults Found: 00285 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Front Right (G45) 35-00 - - 00290 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs -Prob need to get a proper check done here? 35-00 - Please Register/Activate 00290 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs 16-00 - Please Register/Activate 00290 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Rear Left (G46) 04-00 - Mechanical Malfunction I have read before that some errors mean a dodgy pump while others have had only to replace the sensors. Does the above error info give me enough to pinpoint which is the problem or is it going to be trial and error? Thanks for reading and any advice you can give. Jon Colchester
