  1. Oh, how much difference a week makes!!!! Due to unforeseen circumstances I'm afraid I'm going to have to sell this baby already!!!!!! Upon selling the Golf, I've been made an offer I can't really refuse on a VR6, so I'm going to have to sell this 2.0 16v to get the moola to fund that project!!!! Have a look at the FOR SALE thread, I just need to get the money back on this so I can afford the VR6 resurrection! :) Any questions, just let me know...

    Amour door plates

It's true, they do exist!! I have some that were already fitted (if not very well) to my current C.. 8)
  3. Hi there, just an update for you all.. Seeing as I work at the Derby VW Stealers I thought I'd let you know that VW are finally releasing Genuine retro-fit "AeroSet" wiper upgrade kits.. Bad news is they don't specifically list for Corrado, but Polo (95-02) ones are the same length apparently so I'll test them on mine and let you know.. Part no I'm trying wil be "6N2998002" retail price will be around £24inc, but if you do need some, try phoning them first and saying you're in "Parts Club" to get any discount.. You never know!! If you don't ask - you don't get! :)
  4. Cheers Dave!! :D Just a heads up, there's someone in Germany trying to flog Corrado repair kits on ebay - Item 160138595684.. Might be an idea to beat them at their own game..
  5. Hi there, sorry for the hijack, just a daft question, hypothetically speaking, if I slide the internal panel back on mine, then take the metal panel out, does this now allow me access to the slider mech? If so, does this mean I can then repair my slider mech with the whole slider mech in situ? (Hoping not to dismantle the interior here..)
  6. First dirty job done. PAS belt.. Nastier than it seems.. no room to reach it from top cuz of Diavia compressor and alternator!! Had to lie on floor, remove shit shields and work whilst the rain came down.. Oh joy.. Oily everything too.. Anyway after an hour of cursing and grunting and getting completely soaked to the bone, I was able to steer the bad boy again without needing to have arms like Geoff Capes! Job done! :D Gonna need to get myself some axle stands of my own too cuz I'm gonna want to fit those coilovers soon!! Seen some decent Draper fold away ones for about £15 a pair. Next job - Gear change cable adjustment!! :?
  7. OK, so these are the only pictures I have so far due to the beautiful weather we're having!! Will post more when I have them!!
  8. Oh, g60greeny, if ur desperate to see pics right now I can text them to you, but tbh, they aren't that good. But then again, they don't show all the scabby bits either!! :silly:
  9. Cheers for the replies guys!! :) It's road worthy and running, I'm just waiting to flog the '96N Mk3 Golf Gti 2.0 8v 3dr (1 previous owner only 65k!!) I've nearly finished doing up then I can swap the insurance over.. you'll hear me coming a mile away when I take it to work!! May need some of those handles in due course too Dave :norty: Might try a cable, but when I was lubing it (the cable you smutty pervs), it seemed to be running freely through the sheath.. (and again). :cuckoo:
  10. Hey there everybody!! :) Many apologies in advance for the following novel.. After a fair few years in the company car wilderness, I have returned to my dub roots!! I now work at Derby VW in the Parts dept (handy eh?) and have just finished a couple of Golf Gti projects to get me some funds to rejoin the Corrado massive. Many thanks to those who helped me find my latest "project" (cheers g60greeny), I am now the proud owner of a '95M 2.0 16v in Ice Violet Grey. (It has Diavia A/C and a Tracker fitted as dealer options too, BONUS!) (Also see mods already fitted section) It was up for sale on the forum so I bit the bullet and went for it!! After parting with a few hard earned purple ones! I then set off home to give it a shakedown on the 120mile return trip! All seems to be ok on the whole, with the odd expected problem.. So far I've come across a list that will need sorting before I even think about starting my list of mods!!I've only had it a couple of days and I'm itching to get on with it! Problems: - Lumpy running on idle (cleaned ISV thoroughly with brake cleaner - still no better when cold, but OK when warm) - Sunroof fcuked, will tilt forward, left side doesn't return! (have got the repair kit ready to fit) - Suspension currently in 4x4 off roader mode sat on tip toes! (seen a set of coilovers on Ebay for £215 new) - Chucked it's PAS belt (got a new one ready to fit) - Bodywork looks like it's had a cruise round Basra, no panel is undamaged except the roof!!Not to mention whoever had fitted the Armour plates previously didn't use rust inhibitor on the screwdriver damage!!!! ** Upon furthe examination, it's the armour plates that are tarnished, not the paintwork! (full respray imminent but not essential just yet) - Central locking works - sort of. Will open all locks by key on both drivers side & passenger side, but passenger side does not lock when using key in drivers door. Funnily enough, everything locks when locking using key in passenger lock. (need to strip & investigate) - Accelerator pedal seems stiff to operate (have removed trim panels and lubed up linkages & cable, may work!) * Does work!! * - Speedo is erratic under hard acceleration - spins past 100mph when revs rise on gear change. (maybe speedo drive in gearbox or the connection on the back of the speedo, or maybe the speedo itself!) - Diavia Aircon needs a re-gas. (good job I've got a buddy in the A/C business) - Slight oil leak from rocker cover (new gasket should sort) - Bit noisy on the top end, may need new tappets/followers? OK when warm. - Oil temp shows "---" in MFA, may need new oil temp sender with Idle Stabiliser Control..(lists this part on ETKA) - Looks like a previous onwer has fitted chrome dial rings in the instrument cluster and got glue all over the place! - Certain interior panels needs re fitting, looks like a lot of it was put back together in a rush! *DONE!* - Gearchange cables need adjusting, hard to select 1st or reverse when hot, have missed 5th a couple of times when changing up from 4th too! Not good hitting third when going over a ton.. - Passenger Headlight has a nice big 'bullet' hole in it!(May replace both with Angel eyes- see planned mods) - Previously fitted Powerflow S/S Exhaust a bit too loud at low revs for my old ears- sounds like the drainpipes that plebs put on Novas and Escorts.. (Probably needs another silencer fitted to make the sound a bit richer higher up the rev range, plus it might make the engine run a bit smoother if there's a little more back pressure..) - Heater control illumination has a pulse!! One second you can see it, then next it's gone! - Steering Wheel padding has gone a bit sloppy on the top. (New MOMO should sort it!) I think that'll keep me busy for now.. :doc: RIGHT THEN!! There have already been some mods carried out on this beast but I have got a few in mind I would like to carry out.. Current Mods: - BK Racing 17" Multi spoke alloys - graphite in colour. (Kerbed in places, lacquer lifting, also what's with the Allen bolt attachment?) - Powerflow S/S exhaust (bit too loud, might need extra silencer sorting out) - Pipercross high flow panel filter - Shortened beesting aerial. - Tinted side repeaters Future Mods: - Fit Coilovers, drop 40mm, done 60mm before and got fed up scraping everything! - Crystal/tinted rear lights - Angel Eye Headlights - Crystal front indicator/foglight units - Mild window tint - not too drug dealerish! - Full original colour lower half respray including debaged grille & number plate plinth colour coding plus removal of side mouldings - may possibly fit Audi flush mounted door handles too.. - MOMO steering wheel & boss - Stealth rear parcel shelf including 6x9 JBL's plus updated head unit.. - Full total closure alarm with remote central door locking This is a 3 year plan, so hopefully we should be somewhere near completion by then! :turn-l: Anyway, sorry to bore you all, I'll be off now, feels good to be back!!! Oh, congrats on the forum btw it's wicked!! Will be checking the info sections constantly for any hints, tips I'll be needing to help me on my journey!!!!! Will post some photos when I get round to taking them!! TTFN!
