I just did disconnect the radio, and it's not the problem! Where do I go from here?
-
Damnation! I've pulled the blue / white wire, but it hasn't cured the problem. what should I try next? Is there a fuse anywhere? The spoiler works OK in manual.

Not selling, just interested as Yellow seems so rare. It seems you either love or hate Yellow - I did a search on the forum and it seems there are more lovers than haters. Personally I think white is disgusting on a C, but each to their own!

Just wondering how many Corrados came to the UK in Nugget Yellow. Since I've had my 16v (5 years), I've only ever seen two others, both G60s. Do yellow ones go for more money?

I had a deformed tyre on an old metro (don't ask!) once, that caused a vibration on the steering rather than a wobble. I've checked the nuts are all tight so I don't think it's that either - looks like a trip to the tyre place might be in order to get it checked out properly.

My 16v has a really bad side-to-side wobble on the steering wheel. It's been getting worse over the last few weeks, at low speeds 15-30mph)it's very bad, with the wheel wobbling as much as a couple of inches, but it's better at higher speeds. I don't think it's bent wheel as it's been a gradual thing, could a wheel out-of-balance cause wobble as bad as this, and at this low a speed? Andy.

My 1.8 16v is suffering some odd problems with idling. The other week, when I started the car, it wouldn't idle, and kept stalling. It clear itself after a few restarts, I thought it might have been a fuel blockage so I thought nothing else of it. Then today, I got a similar thing. The car just wouldn't idle, kept dying at every junction. After a couple of miles, it cleared up a bit, but still would only idle at 500rpm. By the time I'd got 30 miles, it was OK again, idling at 800rpm. Apart from this, the car runs fine. Any idea what's going on?

Nice one Kev, i appreciate your help. will have a look this weekend as the screen is getting misty now the colder weather has arrived!
-
Yesterday the screen vents were working, but today, all I did was start the car up and they stopped working - you can hear an audible 'pop' which I guess must be the flap moving? Where is the easiest place to access the flap?

400nm torque?????? sounds interesting! what's the latest news? I'm interested in doing this with my 16v, what are the costs involved? Andy.

Porsche Boxster.

1200 notes Gaz? Herts Insurance will beat that for sure.

Yep, I reckon it's the flap too, come to think of it, the lever is quite stiff so it could be the cable, it's just wierd that it'll work one day and not the next - the fan carries on running, so there's no prob with that. Where's the best place to get it to be able to manually open the flap?
-
All the other vents are definitely closed, there's no air coming out of any of them, but the windscreen vents are still closed 95% of the time.
-
Try Herts Insurance Consultants in Bishop's Stortford. I'm insured TPFT, 30 y/o with 3 yrs No Claims, and my 16v is £210 a year. I can mod it as much as I like and track day cover is included too!

The windscreen blowers on my '90 16v only work once in a blue moon. I usually leave the vent direction lever on the windscreen setting, and sometimes they will start blowing on the screen, then they will stop again for no reason. It's not the fan, the fan is running all the time, just seems like the vent is somehow opening and closing by itself! The fan, heaters and all the other vents are working fine. what's going on here? I would have the dash apart to take a look, but it looks like quite a big job. Surely it can't be a cog or a cable, 'cos of the way the windscreen vents work at random without me ever touching the lever. Anyone got any ideas? Andy.

A couple of panels on my nugget yellow 16v are looking seriously dull, and I have a few paint cracks on the front bumper. Is it possible to give it a few 'topcoat' or would I need to have the car rubbed down first? and how much should I be paying to get the work done, assuming I get the whole car sprayed to get the best match? I know next to nothing about spraying so I'd appreciate any help! Andy.

Not if this is in the right section..... What do you typically get MPG-wise from VR6? I'm toying with upgrading my 16v, but I a long commute to work (100 miles each day), and if the MPG is going to be a lot worse, then I can't really go for it. I'm mostly driving on dual carriageway and fast A roads, and I'm getting 33-34MPG from the 16v. My mate has a VR6 and reckons he gets 30MPG, but this seems better than I'd expect! Andy.

Nice one ,thanks Lenny :D

Just read a few other threads on this, they mention that a wire may have to be disconnected. Which wire though??

Since I had a new stereo fitted, my spoiler has stopped raising at 40mph. It still works OK manually. I'm convinced that fitting the stereo has caused the problem - can anyone shed any light? Andy.
