  1. The best way to fit a TDI engine is using one of the following: 1Z, AHU, ALH (90bhp) AHF, AFN (110bhp) The 1.9 PD engines are limited to 180 / 190bhp after tuning. Besides that, the conversion is a hell. Nothing fits, and has to be modified. The 'old' 90/100bhp engines can be tuned much more (1 know someone having 213bph -> 189bph on the wheels). These engines fits almost directly on the existing mountpoints of your old 1.8L. Just snoop around on the dutch corrado-forum (http://www.corrado-forum.nl).
  2. How did you mount this? Isn't it too low for driving? Looks like this setup only works with a RS-like bumper. Kewl .... ;)
  3. sorry, I have no further photo's and specs. The IC material is aluminium, so welding will be a problem there.
  4. I'd love to see the engine and gearbox conversion for that power! :)
  5. @g-man: THAT's the works!!! @biggerben: I meant Rallye Golf G60:
  6. I don't think that would take away the IC problem. The problem is to place it somewhere/how to fit. In my case, the IC is placed upfront the subframe between the headlights, so cutting away some peaces of the chassis was ineverable. In case of a RS bumper, the LT IC MIGHT proubably fit in the bumper, just in front of the subframe. By then, you don't have to make much modification to the chassis I guess. I'm almost sure a 159hp Transporter engine won't fit, it's a complete different geometry!
  7. The Rallye Golf G60 has a perfect withstand upto 400bhp, since the LT intercooler has plastic endcaps / tanks. If the turbopressure is more than 1.5bar, the caps sometimes will blow-off. I'll say, the Rallye Golf G60 is suitable for your project. Although, costs (including pipes and bends) are estimated at 600euro's.
  8. costs estimated totally: 25.000 euro's. Problems: 6box mounting, fuelpump, wireingsystem... @supercharged: Yeah.... I have a MK4 TDI 96Kw stationwagon also... It can't work against the power, weight and acceleration of my corrado!
  9. Finally, the technical setup is complete! the CYP 5gearbox has been replaced by the EFF 6gearbox, and intercooler has been replaced by a VW LT (Mercedes Sprinter) IC! Tuesday the proper software setup is due to change, and a fine 200+bhp and 420NM will emerge! old TDI setup... engine comes out... 110bhp CYP gearbox down, EFF 6gearbox up! gearbox mountpoints moved... cleaningjob 'under the hood...' No more EGR circulation... analogue cockpit makes place for digital... almost complete now! see that intercooler! KW-2 suspentionset... again, almost complete now... no need to say more... except chiptuning and cleaning, this is the final result.
  10. ET30.... that looks like a fine size! It proubably will!
  11. Fits (just enough space) on 7,5x16 ET37 OZ F1 plus rims. needed: 1x 6KL.615.123 1x 6KL.615.124 2x 6KL.615.421 2x 6KL.615.301 4x N.100.880.03 4x N.100.650.02 Also see: Dutch corrado forum They know how to help you fit those brakes!
  12. Update: Changes for the 6-gearbox and larger intercooler (VW LT) is due to next week! The power will rise to 200+ bhp and torque will be around 400/420 NM. (more torque will result in broken or damaged flywheel, since it's a 2layer wheel) Also changing the springs (KW2) will have some better performance! Meanwhile, I've installed BREMBO frontbrakes (Seat Ibiza Cupra) and new brakes at the rear. :D
  13. I posted these pics in another thread somewere of the one I converted Could you post some pictures of the ouside (front view) of the roof? (closed). I have installed a glass sunroof too, but mine isa Golf III (1995) glass pannel, and comesout appx. 2mm above the complete roof. (it's about 2mm thicker at the front). The fact is, if I'm doing 120 km/h or more, the windshear noise in the car is going sky-high!
