  1. try Hertz Hi-energy range i run HSK 165xl really nice components
  2. Hi, i am trying to feed my audio addicition and wondered what other people have tried in their corrado's all in the name of sound quality. I will add pictures and details of my install later (got a bit more work to do on the door builds).thanks in advance for all i may learn.
  3. i have had a read on this and have decieded to fit twin 120A alternators the thinking being an alternator will produce about 80% of its capacity at idle therefore two 120's should give nearly 200A @ idle that should keep 3 slash amps well fed.
  4. it would appear that there is a 180A alt. fitted to the toe-wrag looks like time for flea bay
  5. forgot to say i have a brand new vr6 120a alt. and i run the ac pump as an idler
  6. just reading posts if i went 48v how would that be reduced to 12v again, i see what your saying with regards to voltage but going up then back down cant be efficient
  7. 3 slash amps with a fool on the volume dial , each amp fused for 60A and i use a pg crossover {9v line driver} my main goal is sq I can hear the power fading when i crank it up and i am bored of blowing speakers due to inconsistant power , i would prefere 1 alternator but i am not in the market for expensive custom alternator as i have burnt all my dollars on car hifi. think i might try an a6 allroad 190a alt. as it is water cooled. going to upgrade engine earth to 1 awg to match amp feed
  8. hi, anybody done a twin alternator set up or hi-output conversion looking for 200A or more. thanks in advance
  9. Hi, I havent posted for a while having just read a few of the recent posts I can probably answer a few questions. If your sorting out coolant pipes pay close attention to the oil cooler pipes mine rubbed through on the fan. Regards.
  10. Hi,has anyone got a easy solution to correct my speedo, I have fitted 3.2 tt engine and due to erratic tacho and other problems i now run 98 passat v6 synchro vdo dash panel, The easiest way would be to adapt channel 16, does anybody know the login code? Any other ideas would be good, cheers, PS the speedo under reads 100 on the clock is probably closer to 130
  11. After months of headache's trying to keep standard dash clocks i have now fitted 98 passat syncro clocks and they look funky in blue just need to recalibrate speedo,I think i have had more problems sorting the clocks out than any other part of my build.I tried later corrado clocks and could not stop the erratic tacho, the passat clocks also are non can-bus up untill mid 99.(using speed signal from a/c control panel).another solution and being vw clocks don't look out of place.
  12. hi,anybody know the part number for a bigger brake master cylinder, too much travel since fitting 334 x 32mm front brakes and cant see it improving when the 256 x 22mm rear brakes get fitted anybody else running these brakes?
  13. standard chn gearbox with quaife atb and standard diveshafts works fine for me
  14. pin 23 yellow and red wire for corrado clocks, unless you need the immobiliser use corrado clocks much easier
  15. to jezzag60 thanks mate your a star ,i've got a working if slightly eratic tacho i believe later clocks are the cure, thanks again, seems corrado and can-bus need not be a head ache any more.
  16. turns out I also seem to be suffering from eratic rev counter, only just connected it this evening funny thing is I had labeled the loom before fitting and had decieded it was vehicle speed because dash to engine ecu coms. is can-bus, good result because i was getting bored of rev limiter, still at least i can get on with better things like paint and leather, and on that one does anyone know where to get a seat cover kit that is worth having most interiors on ebay seem overpriced and worn out.ps my car is a k plate and did have a dizzy looks like i will be hunting down later ones, cheers,
  17. Im always up for learning something in this case it would be nice to be wrong, the doner car if it helps was a 2005 chassis tt bhe engine code i have checked the wiring diagrams but could have missed it. my car if relavent was 92/93 abv vr6. I have just been thinking why the ac would need engine speed, might be stall protection from power steering if you can get that pin number so i look into it would be good,I Have used the tt sensor harness complete and chopped out what i needed from the power side i know drive can is active will have to check convenience ,thanks for input so far
  18. sorry did not thank you for the vortex tip I will have a look now, cheers
  19. thanks for responding, I am after engine rpm not vehicle speed on convenience can-bus,engine rpm is drive-can only I have tried a hunter/racelogic converter but cant be 100% on that component as is it was second hand Iscoped output with vas 5051b this was flat line,ps I am a main dealer technician and have full access to factory data but as I dont wish to use audi dash panel there is no tech backup, modified so not there problem etc.having disscussed it the other senior techs we reckon a converter is required but other than different baud rates between drive and convenience can I know they are bosch protocal that is as much as audi thinks we should know.I look forward to further response thanks again
  20. hi,i'm new to this forum, I have recently converted my corrado to 3.2 24v vr6 using factory ecu with immobilizer coded out. I have so far been unable to find a signal converter to draw analog tacho signal from the drive can wiring do any of you guys have any solutions? any help would be a result as I have no desire to fork out £700 for tt clocks which look wrong in a tt let alone my corrado, thanks in advance.
  21. hi,i'm new to this forum got a question recently got my 3.2 24v corrado on the road, does anyone know where to get a can-bus signal converter for tacho i want to stick with standard dash panel, any help with this would be a result, thanks in advance,
