Soz for the late reply mate. Been in the Garage for.. well feels like forever. Gonna change the slave cylinder anyway as by the looks of it, it was second hand when the car was build in 91...... but passed the mot yesterday (woo hoo) and should be back on the road at the weekend. Gonna run it in after the build then back to the pit to do the slave cylinder and change all the fluids, bushes and bearings. lets hope that solves it. Also noticed tonight the rubber strips in the roof gutter have perished. Its a good job I love that car I tell you

When I bought my G60 back in 02 I was lucky enough to get one with a set of 17" BBS RS wheels. Due to them being 5 stud as opposed to the G60 4 the hubs and discs had been drilled and tapped to throw the rims on. Its been done well and I've never had any trouble but I want to change the discs now and wondered if the VR6 discs are the same. Looking at the pics on the AVS spares site it seems to me the G60 ones have the disc set back further from the central plate where the holes are than the VR6. Will I have to change the Hubs as I don't fancy buying G60 ones and having to drill holes in them and if the hubs are changed will the caliper still fit. Is this why the previous owner drilled them rather than replacing the hubs and discs? I wanted to do all four corners. Cheers

Hi all Firstly let me apologise if this has been addressed hundreds of times before. My clutch bite is about 10mm from the floor as the clutch pedal is released. The clutch operates fine and does not slip but its somewhat annoying as if I don't press the clutch down all the way to the tarmac I sometimes crunch gears. I know the clutch is hydrolic so you can't adjust the cable but I just wondered if theres a quick fix without having to change the clutch. My C has been off the road for 3 years now due to kids and houses and all that but its coming out to play in a month or so. The clutch has been like this since 2002 when I bought it and has never got any worse but as I've been driving a newer car for the last 3 years it just feels odd and I would like to get it sorted. Cheers Dave

I bet that was fun Dan. Im lucky that a few of us share a 4 birth unit and we bought a second hand set of the big electric ramps from the mechanic over the road. Makes life much easier. And saves your back when removing tar spots. Anyway thanks for all the advice everyone.....Much appreciated... :D

Right I've finally got it started......runs like a champ. Turned out to be the dreaded crank pulley. The keyway had snapped off. Also drilled a 4.5mm hole through the new pulley with a pillar drill. When it was on I drilled through the hole into the end of the crank and knocked a roll pin in so hopefully it wont be happening again. It had been to a garage and the crank pulley bolt had sheared while it was idling. They said it was in there care so they would order a new crank pulley and repair it for nothing. So I presumed it had been done as he said the company had sent them two pulley wheels by mistake and I could have it as he had no use for it. I see now that all he did was put a new bolt in, keep my car for ten days and give me the pulley he ordered.

Hi Morado, I have to agree with Dan. These so called 'VDub specialists' in my experience anyway are just an overpriced waste of your money. I'm not saying all of them but the last time mine went to the shop it came back with the oil return from the charger loose, which came off and dumped all the oil all over my engine bay and they had left the bottom bolt holding the rear shock on hanginging out. Lucky I checked thier work before I put it in a tree or a lampost or something. Be warned I doubt they know much if any more that some people on this forum.

Thanks for the info. No AA cover as I took the Corrado off the road for the winter and to do a few jobs on it. I've been advised to change the ecu to inlet manifold pipe as well. Going to try at the weekend. Might get a mate who has AA cover to sit in and say hes the passenger and cant get home............ :D Sneaky Thanks Again

I have a 1991 G60 that will not start. I was sitting in traffic when it just cut out and would not restart. Since this problem I've changed the piston rings and cam belt. I have fuel at the fuel rail and a spark at all the plugs. It tries to start but will not run. If the throttle is open it will just about run but like its only firing on 3 cylinders then cut out which is why I changed the rings. Upon changing the rings no damage to the inside of the engine was apparent and I'm thinking its electrical but don't want to start replacing anything until I have more of an idea what the problem is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. After the rings were changed it ran perfectly for about a minute then would not start again. It has me at a loss to what the problem is. My thoughts would be fuel pressure reg, one of the senders or something like that but I would only be guessing. Or possibly the hall sender. Anyone know how to test it?? Thanks Dave
