Definitely wouldn't be £100 a panel anywhere nearby then, more like £150 - £200 depending how bad things are. just so you know what to expect. That's why I'm travelling out into the sticks! This damn snow won't help things either!

You can guess that my week off wasn't approved so no hols until Jan now. You guys open weekends? Thinking i pop down on a Saturday in Jan when the snow melts!
-
Why have I never seen those things?!

I don't mind the idea and am also a little eco-concious. I just feel some impending doom that as soon as this takes hold our gvmt will try to force everyone else to follow suit by taxing us into it. Anyway glad its beer time now :)

and yes i have too much time on my hands...

I'm not sure, a couple of the car makers are going to be masss productions these cars and they would put that much money into it unless they though it would take off (esp people like Nissan). Have you seen the Nissan Leaf? Thats the one they are going to be mass producing and it goes 90 mph and lasts 100miles. The charging stations are already popping up, found this online http://www.pod-point.com/ from the people who are putting the charging points up. Edit: this is a better link: http://www.pod-point.com/PDFs/UK%20infr ... 0boost.pdf

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-11990800 Reading the above and thinking these types of articles are getting more frequent. How long before we start seeing these things on the road. Soon people like us who appreciate the ole engine are going to have to pay a lot of money to keep our cars. Tax is going to increase sharply to push people into buying these things. Made me a bit sad on a Friday afternoon :camp:

Just the one week (that work hasn't signed of yet :mad2: ) but 22nd - 26th I reckon. Also putting together a wishlist of other things i might want done too :)

I'm in London so not too far away (where abouts is the bodyshop?). Booking some time off work in a couple of weeks so can pop down and show you what I need done!

Its sad to think how many people like me might not be claiming due the the amount of hassle and stress it creates!

So on my way to work this morning and hear a van reverse into my car. I run back and stop the van driver but can't see any major damage. Late for meeting so take his plates ad let him go. Got my old man to check and he thinks the bumper has been pushed in slightly and it's sticking out the sides a tiny bit. My question is, is it worth claiming since he'll probably say that wasn't him and there are no scrapes as he reversed straight back into it and the van had a black plastic bumper? And that's if he's got insurance! Anyone else had a similar experience?

Cool that's not too bad. Now to find a bodyshop I can trust! Cheers lads.

Got a big rust bubble on one arch, on the drivers sill and a couple of small bits on the door and boot. I guess I can get these sorted first an worry about a respray later. Have you had this kind of stuff done? Am I looking at a lot of ££££?
-
Hi all, Is rust treatment expensive? I have a few patches that are getting serious now even with attempts to slow it down :( Does it make sense to do rust treatment with a full/partial respray or does it not affect cost that much? Also does anyone have a list of part numbers for exterior seals that usually need replacing when doing a respray? Thanks!

me too :)

Ok not a Corrado but did the sunroof seal on my uncles Polo. What a pain the the $%#! Took us 4 hours and my hand is guna hurt tomorrow :(

So took the lock and handle off a little while ago and it does look like someone shoved a screwdriver in there and damaged the first pin in the barrel. Had to take barrel out, sand down the first hole then give it a clean. Need smaller hands! Going to put it all back together now and hope it still works
-
I pray the ABS light goes off. Oh and check the car is locked a few times before i walk off. I also occasionally check the boot is locked too :)
-
Cheers, had a look underneath and looked ok. Not really loose but will check the bolt tomorrow. Will have to get an alarm soon I think!

Hi all, So tried to get into the rado this morning and the key wouldn't go into the drivers side lock. Tried a couple of times and it finally went in but then wouldn't turn! Has anyone had this before? Slightly worried that someone may have tried to break in but can't see any bent metal but knowing people round here they might have tried to shove something in the lock just for fun. The little key flap has a slight dent right in the middle but that's probably due to key being put in so many times. Anyway it's likely that if someone did shove a screwdriver I'm there the flap would have been left open but it wasn't. Or am I in denial?? What do you think? Car is parked on the street so it's gig to be a long night :(

Thanks, found it in the end. Didn't do my back any good though!

Ignition switch :) Half way through the job now but switch replaced so thats the most important thing! Broke 2 screwdrivers but got there in the end! Now cleaning up the grease I got on the carpet when I took the seat out :( Any one got any tricks for this?
-
Taken out the bottom steering column cover and still can't see the damn screw! Its going to be a long day!
-
Ok so it starts working sometimes when I wiggle the key so I guess it is the ignition switch. On my way to the stealers now to get one :(

hi, So making good use of my time between jobs and fitting a nice pioneer head unit to the c. The stereo doesn't want to work when the car is switched off and ignition on. Checked power with voltmeter and i get the following: Positive : Constant 12ish volts Ground: Fine Ignition: I see 12 volts when turning the key but no 12 volt when its in ACC. Is this correct behavior or should it be a constant 12v when on ACC? Haven't seen that exact problem as a symptom of dodgy ignition switch so thought it would be worth checking with you lot!
