  1. Just bought a Magnex exhaust from Venom motorsport for £330 including VAT and delivery. Had it fitted this morning at Heratige VW which cost £74. All went on okay. Sounds nice and I swear has made my car more nippy! I was quoted by VW £505 for a new exaust and fitting. I think they use the Borsal exhaust. This was previously on my car and basically fell apart. It wasn't even that old. So for £105 cheaper I got a Magnex and had it fitted to. My advice is by your own exhaust and get VW to fit it. De cat pipe next!
  2. Had the exhaust fitted this morning. It all went on okay but it took them 2 hours to fit. Drove to work and it sounds nice. Not to loud which is good. No knocks or rattles either. I swear my car is going better as well. The pick up lower down is much better. Given the fact the last exhaust was a borsal I think the magnex makes a difference. I had it fitted at a vw garage. £74 Now I am gong to get a de cat to see what difference that makes.
  3. Anyone know where to get a cat bypass from? Looked all over the net and can't find one for my year.
  4. For the VW garage to change the exhaust it costs £505. The back box is on back order and won't be in for 2 weeks. I can not wait that long and so have ordered a Magnex system from venom motorsport for £330 inc shipping. ( thanks steve 16V). The VW garage will fit it for £52 quid. Works out cheaper to get your own!
  5. Looked under the car over the weekend. Both hooks have now come off and it looks like a bodge job to me. Waiting for a quote from VW specialists for a new exhaust. May as well get it done properly! Not looking forward to the price though.
  6. Hi all For the last two weeks I have though my wheels were rubbing on the arch but I have now discovered that this is not the case. Got home from work and noticed the tail pipe (from the back box) was hanging off. I ripped the thing off and started to search for a new box on the web. The next day I wanted to check the fitting to get the right back box and noticed that the center box id hanging down. It is this that has been htting the floor. The hook that holds it up has come off. I will weld it back on at the weekend but now I need a new cat back system. The one on my car is nhot that old and has lasted bugger all time. What is a good exhaust for a 1994 2.0 16v? And which is the cheapest place to purchase them? I am aware of the "definitive" thread but it did not help me out. Thanks
  7. It does not happen all the time but annoys me when it does. Sometimes the throttle seems to stick open. When you dip the clutch the revs climb to 2000rpm and stay there. It also pulls the car along even when you don't have your foot on the throttle. I have checked the throttle cable and it is not sticking. It is definatly returning to the correct position. If I stop the engine then start it again it again the revs are normal. It might just be my imagination but it seems to do it when it is wet outside. Any ides on what it may be? Thanks in advance. It a 2.0 16v 1994 Corrado by the way.

    MFA readings.

Most of the settings on my MFA seem to work. The temp changes as it should be. The out door temp seems acurate. The MPG is a bit suss but the MPH is all cocked up. As yet I have not seen it go above 31 mph. I have tried reseting it but it does the same thing. The read outs for the MPG are a little strange. They are the sort you would get if you had a 5l v12. Sometimes its as low as 12 mpg. Is there a way of fixing this problem I know its only a minor thing but everything else on the car works so this one little thing is annoying me. I have a 1994 2.0l 16v corrado. Thanks
  9. Hi Just wnated to know if the de cat pipes actually make a difference? I have a 2.0L 16v corrado. Have seen them on ebay but don't want to spend £55 if they actually do nothing. Does anyone know of any other places you can buy them? Thanks!
  10. Thanks! I'll give them a call. On last question. Is the 1994 model 50mm or 90mm. I guess this is the depth of the splitter. I will measure it when I get home. Thanks again!
  11. Can't find any where on the web which sell them! Any suggestions. Luckily I was not going fast and he went straight under the middle of the car. Managed to avoid the wheels. He ran straight off. Tough little buggers. Wish the front splitter was!
  12. Whilst doing my bit for UK farming by culling badgers I cracked the front splitter on my corrado. My question is. Do you have to replace the whole front bumber or can you detach the splitter underneath? Does anyone know where to get replacement splitters from? (by the way I don't think the proposed badger cull is a good idea.)
