  1. That's a great stance fella  What size wheels are they?
  2. Yeah the Avant that Chris had was nice! But you know whats he's like - a little tight - lol! No I don't work in that building, just used to park there, that is until I was asked nicely to not park there anymore or my car will get towed, heh heh! My car is just an early valver (1.8 KR), it needs a respray really, no amount of valeting will get rid of rust and dents - but thanks for the offer :D ***edit: oh yes you're right, my name is Ben too :D
  3. Hey Jamin, I recognise that car! I've seen it parked near the river in town (I wont say exactly where - just incase you dont want to advertise where its parked :D). I think you may know a friend of mine (Chris). I used to park my Corrado in the same place as you - mine was the old natty red one (nearly pink :D). I've recently been thinking about sorting my C out too - but mine is mega rough compared to yours - lol. Btw... I've owned my Corrado for 9 years now too! If only I'd kept it a nice as yours.
  4. hey cheesewire, was it defo RS15 that you mean? I've just had a look on the Pagid website and they don't seem to be available for the Corrado. Pagid RS14 are but not 15.
  5. thanks for the offer Supercharged, but I think I'm going to try the Ferodo's on std discs for now, (will upgrade to a big brake kit when funds allow) I've heard so much praise for them it would be rude not to :D Nice to see another Corrado owner near me  I don't see half as many C's round here as much as I used to. I must admit, when I first saw your location (Turnip Land - lol!) I did wonder if you were from roound here
  6. ah ha! Good stuff steve! Just the answer that I was hoping for :D I have heard so many good things about them and that was my only worry. Many thanks :salute:
  7. Hey there guys, I've been looking into brake pads for my Corrado and have seriously been thinking about getting some Ferodo DS3000. I have read that these pads are really for track use only and take a while to work properly i.e. until they're up to temp. My main concern is this: I plan to use my car as a dedicated trackday car - hence why I'm thinking about hardcore pads. However, I am not yet going to start trailering it to trackdays so I will need to drive the car to and from the tracks. Has anyone experienced the Ferodo DS3000 on their Corrado? How bad are they really before they get up to temp? I suppose that I am really just concerned whether they will be too dangerous to use for the runs to and from the track. Be interested in peoples opinions. Cheers Ben
  8. Just got a quote for a rebuilt ABF 2.0 16v and they want £950 +VAT! Seems a little much to me. You can nearly get a 1.8T for that. Sure it won't be rebuilt and you would need to do the conversion... but you would have a much more upto date engine with more power potential.
  9. I know how you feel buddy... I'm about to do the same (run three cars that is). One for the missus, a family car and my rado :D I must admit, I was a little worried about the cost. But, the way I'm looking at it (for now at least) is that running a sensible car and the rado will probably only cost the same as running an M3, TVR etc. But we will see how it goes - lol. Best thing to do IMO would be to see how you get on over time. Sounds like you don't really want to sell the V Dub (just like me). If it all gets too much, you can always sell it at a later date.
  10. red on red looks awesome! g60greeny - is your car tornado red? It looks like it, but I'm not sure what flash red looks like tbh  My car is tornado red, and I think I may do that (when I can be bothered to get off my ass :D).
  11. carpoid - I think that you went the best route with those lights... now looks sweet :smug: I think that all red looks best. Looks a little more factory IMO. 3corsameal - go red red red :D
  12. hmmmmm options options options :D Well the ABF does sound good. The main reason I want to go for a full rebuild is because as its going to be a track based car and I just figured that it would be a good base to start from (reliable and putting out half decent power). I did consider just running the KR with an uprated head for the time being but I reckon that it must have lost loads of horses by now (done over 170,000). Also I'm not sure how long that it will last on track - lol! Cars hey... who'd have em
  13. Ah right, ABF sounds good... I like the idea of a higher reving engine :D As anyone on here ever got a rebuilt lump before? I was under the impression that I would be able to get a rebuilt lump for aroound £400 quid (possibily optimistic?) as I am sure I read that you can get them for this price somewhere. However, I have just got a quote from Car Engines Ltd for a rebuilt 9a for £950 + VAT :(. Seems a little much to me.
  14. I think I will go 2 litre then. Just in case I go turbo at a later date. As a matter of interest, have you guys got any idea about the amount of power output I am likely to get (with enough work and a decent tuner) from a n/a 2 litre Corrado? This car will be a dedicated track car and therefore, I'm not too worried about how well it drives on the road as it will be spending most of its life high up the rev range on track. Cheers Ben
  15. Ah cool! Sounds like a plan - 180bhp sounds inviting! Thanks for the tip :D Thought that it was strange that the figures are so different - but it all makes sense now. So if I was gonna put a 2.0 into my car it would just fit/work straight away right? I'm converting my old daily drive to a dedicated trackday car so I wanna get a fully rebuilt lump just so I can be sure thats its fairly solid and ready for some abuse. Also, I'm thinking that a 2.0 would be nice to have just in case I decide to go turbo at some point, as I'm told the 2.0 will be better for less lag when going turbo (although this probably won't be anytime soon if I'm honest :D).
