right then, just had a text from the mrs (its her car afterall), and apparently, it was stuck at 2500 rpm on her way to school this morning (she's a teacher, Im not a perv  ) will have a play tomorrow then mimjed, the clip you mean, is that the small one that goes into the grooves on the throttle cable? just strange that is doesnt do it all the time :cuckoo:

I have adjusted it, but only at the engine end

Our Corrado has just had its charger rebuilt, new waterpump and a few other bits and pieces. The problem is, now the revs are sticking when at idle, when you drop the clutch to stop, the revs seem to stick at 1500 rpm or thereabouts. It doesnt do it all the time, other times the revs drop to 800 rpm no problem. It didnt do this before the charger was off, but I dont see how this can affect it. Any ideas? Might it be an idea to re-set the idle speed, if so, how do I do that? cheers

can anyone confirm if the rear discs and pads from a 16v Corrado are the same as a G60? GSF state that they are different, yet Venom motorsport claim they are the same

You guys who are running Jabbasport's IHI trbo conversion on your G60s, what radiator are you using? Is the standard VAG G60 radiator up to the job?
-
Weve just treated the G60 to a charger rebuild and whilst th charger was removed, a new waterpump the thing is now leaking coolant, and e have put it down one of the hoses from the waterpump there are three, the top one we have replaced with a sfs silicone one, but is the middle one available either in a silicone format or vag hose?

Im trying to remove the g lader from my g60 engine (a spare in the garden awaiting a turbo and a mk2 jetta) The problem is, I cant get the bugger out! Ive undone it all, and its loose and wobbly, but I cant seem to wiggle it out. The pulley is still attached to the charger as I cant get it off (the nut is undone, but the pulley is on very tight) I cant remove the charger bracket from the middle of the block, but this doesnt have to be removed does it? Any tips, as Ive spent the last 2 hours struggling with the bugger!

excellent, thanks. do I need to dismantle any part of the dash to get to the pedal end?
-
Ho hard is it to fit a G60 accelerator cable? I know it cant be that hard, just inaccessible, has anyone got a step by step guide?
-
I need to get a new water pump for my other halfs G60 (the charger is away at Jabbasport, so though Id have a new pump put on), the problem is, the car is locked away until the charger comes back, but I need to source a waterpump. VW want £40 for the waterpump on exchange, but I cant get the old waterpump to them as its on the car Is it worth waiting and getting the waterpump from vw when I can get to the car, or just get a GSF waterpump today?
-
thanks for the help, does anyone know if there is a difference between them? The Corrado my other half owns used to be a 16v, but a previous owner from the one we bought it off had transplanted a whole G60 setup into it, so unfortunately, the chassis number wont correlate to the year of the engine! I cant imagine there being any difference, but I dont want to have to order and pay for both as they are special order at VW and cant be returned.
-
Right, just been to VW to order a new accelerator cable for my other halfs G60, and they are coming up with two part numbers, so there must be two variations. Any idea which is the right one, or does it not matter? They were both listed as being for a G60 woth engine code PG any ideas, I want to order one as soon as I can cheers

where is the best place to buy a G60 alternator? the one in the Corrado has noisy bearings and is making a hell of a noise are GSF ones ok, or is it best to go to VAG?
-
How on earth do I remove the G60 supercharger guys? Any guides or hints/tips? cheers
-
No mate, not getting them from capital seating, as they only list for a mk2 golf I cant remember the name of the company, but I stated they are for a Corrado, and they seem to think they do them, will post it up when I remember who they are

Ive got a pair of genuine leather Recaros, and Im also about to buy new lower bolster foams, but how do you fit them? Ive fitted new bolsters into mk2 golf gti's, and yesterday, changed the drivers side bolster on our Corrado G60 standard seat, but dont know where to start with the Corrado Recaros. Anyone done them, or know how to do them?

the G has been squeeling of late, an annoying squeak as the engine rotates, Ive narrowed it down to the alternator belts, or at least around there somewhere. Ive had a new alternator belt and cambelt fitted a couple of months ago, so the belts are ok, but I think the alternator itself is the source of the noise. Can the bearings make a noise with age, and can they be replaced, or is easier to replace the whole alternator?
-
who has one, and who has details on how to build them? looking to build one using a turbo technics manifold and t25 turbo that I already have? would the standard ecu run with a turbo instead of the g lader until I can get it custom mapped?
-
Just been to VW to find out that spark plugs for a G60 are no longer available. So, what do you guys use in your G's, and where do you get them from? Cheers
-
Belt dressing is the stuff to use but are your belts actually Genuine / Conti-tech? If you are running a smaller puller then you will need a slightly smaller belt or it will slip btw! Gates belts are ok but don't last long on G60's before they get noisey - also check the 2 plastic idler pulleys, if these are original then they are probably past there best! Belts are definately genuine, bought from VW myself Where can Belt dressing be bought, Im assuming Halfords doesnt do it?
-
Its possible a bearing has worn, but the guy I used to fit really knows what he's doing, and owns a Corrado G60 himself. The squeaking wasnt there when the belts were replaced, but has come to light after the snow and ice weve had lately. Where can I buy a can of belt dressing? Suely if I put talcum powder on the belt, and the squeak goes, then it would show that the bearings are fine?
-
Ive read this on here, but does it actually work? We have a rotational belt squeak on our G60, as you rev the engine, it gets faster and louder. I would normally change the belts, but two months ago, it had new alternator and cambelt/tensioner, both geuine VAG, so the belts are ok. Does sprinkling talcum powder on them actally work to stop them squeaking? Do I just cover them whilst the engine is running (not cambelt obviously), with no precautions?

Ive got to replace the top radiator hose on my other halfs G60 as its got a small split in it, so I thought that at the same time, Id change the expansion tank a its old and murky. How difficult is it to change for a new one, Ive ordered the tank from VW, just waiting on a hose from somewhere, Is it just a case of unbolting old, and bolting he new one in?
-
I would appreciate that mate, thanks

Ive just been told that the elbow on the top of the radiator on a G60 is part of the radiator, is this true? This was VW that told me that, so this means they cant get hold of one. Does anyone have one if its seperate? will put an ad in the wanted section
