Quick question about out G60 When cold, the revs seem to stick at up to 2k when stationary. It does it until it warms up, but as it warms up, it gradually gets lower and lower until warm when it idles at 900 rpm. It does sometimes do this when its hot, but manily when its cold. Ive changed the accelerator cable for a brand new vag one, but that has made no difference Ive asked this before, but still havent got to the bottom of it, does it sound like the ISV is goosed?

I know the displacement is different on the PG and Rallye IH engines, but are there any other diferences? Can I use a Rallye IH bottom end with my PG Corrado cylinder head?
-
Have you? how much would you want for it? I think I have one, but just incase I dont, would be interested cheers

Yesterday, driving along at the naughty side of 100mph,put my foot down again, and heard a strange noise, like a belt snapping, and lost nearly all power, looked at the boost gauge, and it was making hardly any boost! Pulled over, couldnt see anything wrong, so limped it to my mates garage. On inspection, expecting to see a pipe hanging off explaining the lack of boost, but instead, found that the hard plastic pipe coming from the charger to the intercooler had a huge hole it it. Ive never heard of this before, is it just unlucky, or have other g60s done this? The car isnt running huge boost, with just a 68mm pulley and chip change.
-
excellent news, just been out for a blast in it, gave it full throttle, and it made 10 psi on the dash mounted boost gauge. It must be fairly healthy then
-
this is what Ive been thinking, what would you expect boost wise from a standard car then chaps? There is abooost gauge on the dash, but didnt know if that was right either, henc why I checked the MFA
-
No to both questions, the engine is standard at present, I have 68mm pulley and chip to fit, but they are not on yet, I awaiting an RSR outlet to be delivered from Gwerks to get rid of the bloody black silencer box. There is a slight whistle when you rev the car from the engine, but it sounds like its coming from the throttle body area, but its not constant
-
Ive just made the MFA into a boost reader like on the matey matey website, but Im really concerned. Is it accurate? When put into boost gauge, the website stated that you should see 550-750 at idle, but mine was only 450-500 at idle then it goes on to say that you should take it to the redline in 3rd and 4th gears, and then make a not of the highest reading I didnt take it right up to the redline (surely no need as boost drops off), but the gauge read a highest reading of 800!!!!!! the website states that you want to see 1800 (I think) for a healthy standard charger. The charger was rebuilt 10k ago, and the car seems to pull ok, albeit seems to die off around 4k should I be worried, could there be a boost leak, if so, how the hell do I find it?

does anyone know how much VAG charge for a new wing mirror glass (drivers side)? The on on the G60 is de-laminating, and I would like to replace it with the correct heated one

g60 chip/pulley fitting & charger service intervals
vagingit.co.uk replied to vagingit.co.uk's topic in Engine Bay
The charger was rebuilt less than 10k ago, so the small belt should be fine, I hope Does the small belt need to come off to change the pulley then? -
How technically difficult is it to change the supercharger pulley/shorter belt and the chip? Is it something that any decent garage/DIY mechanic can undertake, or is it best left to the G60 specialists? Also, what are the rebuild intervals for the charger? Ours has had a recent stage 2 (standard) rebuild, everything standard except 68mm pulley and chip. I was thinking 40k before the next one?
-
Simple one, I have a Bahn Brenner RSR outlet on order from Gwerks (oping for deliery next week), how hard are they to fit? I assume its fairly simple, take the black silencer box off, put the RSR on with the same bolt holes etc? Cheers
-
this is what I was thinkng, nice one, thanks I must admit, it was an impulse buy, didnt think to check what it had been mapped for in the first place, chers for the advice
-
Ive just got hold of an SNS 5.5 chip for the G60 Are they any good, decent maps? Would this chip be fine running a 68mm pulley and standard charger and injectors?
-
Ive got a powdercoated throttle body to put onto the G60 turbo Im building for myself. when fitting it to the engine, I realised that there were parts removed when being powdercoated. Underneath, there is a spring like part that opens and closes the flap. There is also a small balljointed rod that goes from the one part of the throttle body (the part with the throttle switches), to the part that Im talking about. Make sense? How on earth to I remove that spring like part from the old one to put on the powdercoated one? If this doesnt make any sense, I will add pictures tomorrow OR, if anyone has a picture of one, that would save me getting it out of the garage tomorrrow

We have a standard G60, that 8k ago had a standard charger rebuild. what I want to know is, is it possible to just fit a chip, or do you HAVE to change the pulley too for more boost? would it be ok to run more boost through a standard charger? was thinking a 68mm pulley, so not too small also, who would you recommend for the chip, Jabba, Gwerks, or Ive heard good things about SNS chips?
-
Has anyone got any pictures of a C lowered a little (sa9 40/50mm) on a set of estroils, even better if they were black.
-
As the title says guys, are Corrado G60 and Golf Rallye G60 boost pipes the same? Ive found a set of Samco boost pipes for sale, but would they fit onto my other halfs Corrado G60? Cheers, Simon

cambelt and tensioner from TPS, then the work itself cost me £125 with the garage that I use, and he definately does a good job, so £145 seems fine. £375 sounds like they are a bunch of thieves

g60 leads, dizzy cap & rotor arm from where?
vagingit.co.uk replied to vagingit.co.uk's topic in Engine Bay
trip to VAG then? are there different types on a G60? I havnt got the car details, so when I order them, are they all the same regardless of year? -
where is the best place to get these for a standard G60? Ive been told that they are the same as 8V gti bits, so would some BERU ones from GSF be fine, or would you recommend somewhere else? VAG maybe?

Away for a few days in Dorset with my other half in her black G60, tonight in Poole, around 19.00, we saw three other corrados driving along first one: black/dark blue, very low on polished rh alloys, at a set of traffic lights going the other way to us, he waved back at us second: aqua blue, colour coded bbs', the driver didnt wave back thrid one: a white vr, again, no wave anyone know of these cars in the Poole area?
-
excellent, will loads of coolant piss out when I remove it? Im thinkng, would the blue temp sender be the same for all four cylinder cars, i.e 16v corrados, 8v golf gtis etc?
-
our G60 has those pipes blocked off too, I wouldnt worry mate!
-
has anyone got the part number for a G60 blue temp sensor? and does anyone know how much they are from VAG? are they easy to change?
