Does anyone know the size of the centre caps on the BBS Solitudes? Would a set from a set of BBS RA's fit fine?
-
Does anyone happen to know if its possible to buy the foam bolster for the standard corrado seats anymore? the fabric on my other halfs driver seat is perfect, but the bolster has collapsed, can you get them still?
-
Ive been out today and checked the scutle tray, and its clear, ran some water down the drain channels, and they are clear, really getting stuck now. Its possible the windscreen seal could be letting it in, but the wet patch is right in the middle of the drivers side footwell, would have thought that if it was the screen seal, then the water would be near the pedals?

My other halfs Corrado has a re-occurring prolem with wet carpets, only in the front, and only the drivers side! Now my initial thought was the door membranes, so Ive whipped the door card off, and resealed it all, but unfortunately it hasnt solved the problem! Maybe the heater matrix, but it hasnt loast any coolant, and the carpet is soaked, so if the matrix was leaking to that extent, then there would never be any coolant in it. Its a non sunroof model too, so its not the drainage tubes! any other ideas?

how easy is it to remove and then re-fit a front wing, drivers side if it mankes any difference. my other halfs corrado could do with a new wing, but just wondered if its an easy swap as Ive found one the right colour.

The other halfs corrado has a crap heater, its hot, and it moves between directions ok, but the problem is, its very weak! Its not half as strong as my Jetta, and I think my Corrado was better, its so bad it took ages to demist the front sceen this morning! any ideas? could it be the blower motor itself?
-
has anyone else had to re-stick their interior mirror onto the windscreen? If so, what did you use? Ive tried a glue from halfords, but that didnt stick, so has anyone got any tips, as I knocked it off polishing the windscreen the other day?

Ive just bought a very early (manual windows/no sunroof) kr 16v corrado for my other half. Weve bought it knowing one problem, cold starting is a bugger! when you turn the key, it sounds like its flooded, and wont fire up, but turn the ignition off, try again, and it then fires up immediately, and runs sweet! It does this every morning/when its cold Whilst the car is warming up, its very sluggish, until its warmed up a bit, then runs like a new car! any ideas guys? the work my mate who owned it before has done is comprehensive, fully rebuilt engine, new main and lift pumps, new leads/plugs etc. Tested the cold start valve, and thats working well, thermotime switch replaced! anything else I could be overlooking?

Algarvevr6, Im getting the car from Margate,Kent, from a mate. the engine has just been rebuilt, but I was so surprised as to how quick it is, as I said, so much faster than my old 16v corrado with 70k on the clock. what was the reg of your old one? it is also red though!

I previously owned a 1990 corrado 16v, but that was written off, but am now looking at an 89 corrado 16v for the other half. the question is, how many were made without electric windows, and without a sunroof? This corrado has neither. This leads me onto another question, how much weight difference would there be through not having a sunrooof? I would assume that the roof is only single skinded, wheras a sunroof model would be double skinned? The reason I ask is that the car absolutely flies, quicker than my 1.8 16v corrado, and that was in extremely good mechanical condition!

I know man with 2 9 inch ats cups for sale1 the only problem is, he wants to sell the whole set, of 6, 2x9 inches, 2x8 inches and 2x7 inches! they all need a bit of tlc, and tyre, but I will talk to him about them!

cheers for the part number guys, so they are obsolete then? thats a bugger. a lot of people have said that they come up on ebay quite often, yet I havnt seen any on there, and Ive been looking for months, and as I said, cant find any anywhere! looks like I'll have to run them without centre caps :(
-
seeing as I cant get a set of sebring centre caps from anywhere (except a well known corrado specialist wanting £30 each), does anyone know the part number for the centre caps? or could someone go and have a look for me? looks like its a trip to the main dealers for me! cheers

Ive been offered a supersprint back box for my raddo. the back box has come of an early spec g60 (hook hanger type), and I was wondering if it would fit onto an early spec 1.8 16v?

bypass valves mate. Mine was similar, warm when stationary, then went cold whilst driving. new bypass valves, bleed cooling system through, then that should be ok!
-
how easy are they to change? and where is the best place to get them from, gsf ok, or genuine vag better? It started spot on again last night, I went out and tried it, so will be off to work soon, so will see what it does then!

I had a strange problem with my 1.8 corrado 16v earlier. Turning the key, the car would turn over, but never fire, not even when pumping the throttle. when it did eventually start, all the dash lights flickered, and a loud clicking could be heard coming from the engine bay. does this sound electrical perhaps? or could it be the clifford immobiliser not disengaging properly? the light for the immobiliser went out as per usual to suggest this is working ok. any advice would be a huge help, once started, the car ran fine!

I figured that any increase in power and response was never going to be noticeable, but I was more interested in the sound effects side of things, just to give it a bit of a growl. How easy is it to remove the 'snorkel' on the front of the airbox? does it just pop off?
-
has anyone had/tried one? Ive been looking for a stroeve cone filter/induction kit for my kr 16v, but just wondered if its a load of rubbish, being the only cone filter to fit the valver, Im kind if interested, but its a lot of cash, so would I be better off drillng the airbox and fitting a panel filter?
-
splendid, thats what I wanted to hear. When I got the heater bypass valves replaced, they checked the cooling system over, and everything seemed in order, so glad it all seems ok. cheers, wasnt too sure how hot these should run, my 8v jetta gti ran at lower than 100 degrees all the time, unless nailing it!

Ive just bought a 1.8 16v, and to be fair, its not slow, but in erms of balls out performance, its not that quick either. Rev it and she flies along, but for gentle driing, it can feel like its hlding back, but its how you drive them, you have to rev them to get the best out of them. Im not looking back though, fantastic car! on the mpg note, I bought the car in birmingham, and drove it 200 miles home to kent, and averaged just under 40mpg all the way home at about 70 mph. around town, I getting 31/32 mpg. this is al assuming my mfa is fairly accurate. my brothers vr6 highline golf averages about 20mpg around town

heater bypass valves mate, mine was doing this, once on the motorway and up to temp, the heater was cold, but before it was warm, or sitting i traffic it was warm. Not very expensive, and now my heater is like a furnace.
-
Ive just bought a 91 kr 16v, drove it 200 miles home without fault, other than the heater being luke warm at the best of times. I fixed the heater, heater bypass valves blocked, but now I think the car is running hotter. when normal driving around town, the temp gauge sits mid way between 70 and 110 degrees, but it only went just past 70 degrees on the motorway back fom birmingham before the valves were changed. Is this normal? now the valves work, its running at the right temp as opposed to a bit cold? the oil temp runs at 102/104 degrees around town, then about 108/110 on the motorway. This all sound ok?

Glad Im not the only one with this problem, and on the passenger side too. I came to the conclusion that the door membarane is ok as the carpet by the sill is dry. Ben (jammin) my air intake has already been siliconed, so Im assuming it could be the plastic scuttle cover not doing its job, do you fancy havng a butchers at it with mne on sunday? My heater matrix should be ok as the car doesnt mist up (like my jetta was a few weeks back) and the corrado doesnt use any coolant.
