  1. Sorry to being an old topic back but made more sense than a new one!! My drivers side headlight is sitting below the level it should be, is this common? How easy or hard is it to rectify? I am off for once this weekend so weather permitting I hope to tackle a few issues with the Rado!! I will try and get a picture tomorrow at work and upload it... Lee
  2. How much would one of them set you back?[/quote:flbzu9sa] I just had a brief look on the jetex website and looks like around £340ish for a cat back system. Then you would have to get it fitted obviously.
  3. What would be the best system for my VR6, i think the centre section needs replacing on mine, and just thought it might be more cost effective for a new system. I do not want it to be loud though when i am cruising around, I have an induction kit at the moment and thats fine because at low revs its silent, and under load it has a lovely roar. Because of my work this is how i want any exhaust to be, but obviously help the car breathe a little easier... I know miltek were popular with MKIV guys, just not sure with the Rado? Lee
  4. can i just go into halfords and get one? Lee
  5. I seem to get really poor reception on my aftermarket sony head unit. And am is non-existant which is annoying when there is football on! It is clearly not the original aerial, it is some alloy beesting thing (lol), which I don't like for a start, but before I just go out and buy something are there any that people can recommend? Lee
  6. found the problem, the rehostat was not making contact properly, not sure if my fix is any good, but i have wedged some rubber inbetween the contacts, meaning that when the lights are switched on the dash lights up now, but there is no dimming as i am scared the rubber will pop out. are there any issues with permanant contact?? or is this the way it always is, just set at the level you desire? Lee
  7. is it a case of prising the switch off? does it click out of place...... at least then i can try and have a look behind it...
  8. it is everything, dash and heater controls, none light up. feels like i am driving a stealth car at night, but nice to know my speed for cameras though lol! Lee
  9. sorry but what is a rehostat, i have never had a corrado, or a car of this age before so please have some patients with me. are you reffering to the scroll type switch next to the light switch? and if i replace the switch, is it easy enough to just pop in to a vw dealers? Lee
  10. When i turn on my headlights i do not get the dash lighting up. The guy told me that he had replaced the switch with a mk2 golf switch because it was smoother and nicer to look at but as a result it did not trigger the dash to illuminate. does this sound right? and how easy would it be to fix?? Lee
  11. So it is just him not being used to it, and myself for that matter? I am due to put it in for a check-up soon, but he made it sound like an urgent matter and I was kinda worried for a sec, but if thats the way it is then cool! Lee
  12. had my vr6 since saturday and i love it, i let my manager drive it today who had a 2.0 16v years ago and he seemed to think my accelerator cable needed greasing/replacing..... since i picked it up i just thought that was how the pedals were, i mean theres alot of power in the engine and it didnt phase me, should i replace the cable for peace of mind? if so how much could this set me back at a reasonable local garage? Lee
  13. Don't know if this counts, but upon my return from buying the Corrado I stopped in to work to show my manager who was beside himself when I text him on the way back to say id bought one. Arrived and he spent 20 minutes staring and sitting in it etc.....He used to have a 2.0 16v, same color. I could see a glint in his eye and he has already said he wants to buy it off me when im done with it lol. Got into work on the monday and he said he had double checked his insurance policy, and he is insured to have a blast in it lol !!!!!! Guy in our other office has also heard that I have one and we had a brief chat this morning about it and he also is desperate tor a drive. I am so glad I bought one, definately was not a mistake!!!!! Lee
  14. Sits quite nice I feel, but it does rub slightly when i turn left, mainly at low speeds. Not had much experience with aftermarket lowered suspension, how can i get around this??
  15. thankyou thankyou lol! was so annoying on the way home that i couldn't turn it off haha, must have used half my water resevoir trying to keep it lubed lol!
  16. until i get this fixed, can i rely on the oil temp as a good marker for how the engine is running? gave it a few taps and it didnt seem to come to life......
  17. Sure its been posted before, but this is so cool! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-W9L0ps7ebU Lee
  18. lol, ok sorry. It's very similar to my indigo blue golf v5, what is the correct colour name then? also with regards to the oil temp i guessed from memory lol, but its around that figure lol, are the temp sensors easy to replace/expensive? Lee
  19. The temp guage next to the fuel guage doesn't move on my dash. where should this sit? the oil temp on the MFA never goes above 95ish, but takes a while to warm up and stays there or thereabouts, but if this is broken is it an expensive fix........ thanks Lee
  20. anyone had this problem? picked up my corrado on saturday, and on the way back (2 1/2 hour drive) i pushed back the stalk to spray and give it a bit of a wash and the wiper kept wiping intermittently..... maybe i don't know how to use the stalk correctly but i spent 30 minutes trying every combination possible to turn it off and the only way i can ever do it is by turning off the engine and starting again. really annoying. also, the temp guage next to the fuel guage doesn't move on my dash. where should this sit? the oil temp on the MFA never goes above 95ish, but takes a while to warm up and stays there or thereabouts, but if this is broken is it an expensive fix........ thanks Lee
  21. the one im going for doesnt have the best history, getting a check done, and its have oil changes, chain inspection, new suspension, gearbox (reverse was slipping), seems pretty sound and priced accordingly for a vr6 with 100k, ill get pics up when i have it as long as its sound. Lee
  22. yo Patch, good guys here, I have asked a few questions. Looks like we could both have new cars tomorrow lol!
  23. I really can't wait, im sure it will be everything that i expect!
