Disaster. I was just about to go and get the car when my company phoned. I work on ships abroad and they have offered me promotion on the basis that I go away next wednesday. Its extra money for me,my next car and my new flat so I cannot really refuse. I feel it would be such a waste to buy a car today only to leave it in mu mums garage for the next four months. I was stretching the budget anyway so i have to say no for now anyway. Gutted really and I think the seller was pretty dissappointed too. Sounded like he thought I was making excuses but it is the truth.

n reg blue storm for 6750 with koni coilovers (see for sale section) but my budget was 6000. Am i mad to be thinking about not going for it

Try meguirs(cant spell it) or zymol. Zymol especially is excellent although expensive if you do the whole recomended clean and wax. I think the starter kit is around £80 but its worth it. I just have the polish and its amazing. I'd show a photo but 1 my car is silver and never looks really polished and 2 I never took any pictures after polishing it. Oh and 3 I sold it. One more thing, your car looks pretty shiny to me in the pic!

ADMIRAL, I bought a 3 year old BMW 328i Sport when I was 22 and got insured for 1200, had no noclaims at all then either. Here's a hint put your mum as a named driver, it knocked 200 off my policy. Dont know why but it works

I am watching a recording of the program as I type and I have just seen it too. Looked sweet

My mate isn't from Glasgow, he's coming all the way from Stranraer just for the evening (i hope anyway he has to clear it with his missus first)
-
I think I am getting a mate with me too. He's got a yellow G60, chipped, pulleyed, lowered, new Audi RS2 style front and fancy sound system. It'll be the first time i've seen his Corrado but the photo's look pretty cool. I am sure you guys will like it. Makes up for me brining my boring mkiv golf
-
I have heard a lot of good things about H&Rs on the mkiv golf so i suppose the corrado should be the same. Also consider Bilstein Pss9s if they do them for the C. Whatever set you get make sure you go to a good shop to get the alignment done, preferably somewhere with full laser alignment. It will cost more but I've heard its worth every penny.

I would sit on the bonnet to make the neighbours and passers by think it was my car. I might even wash it for the owner too! :) :) :D :D

Cheers guys that is good to know, now I guess I just need to find the right car

This speed bump is around 8 inches high and when I watch normal family cars go over it nearly all come within an inch of contact. I just cant see a corrado getting over it. BTW I reckon I will come along on wednesday to have a look. I will mention it to a mate who has a 92 G60 too.

If you see my post about all you glasgow kids I have a little enquiry so I might just pop along to compare ride heights etc. If none of you mind having a Mk-iv golf there. Unless I manage to sell it this weekend though! If any of you could check out the corner I am talking about I would really appreciate it. Its only ten minutes from the quay

Hi everyone, I dont have a corrado but am thinking of buying one and I want to use this thread to ask you guys something I had virtually decided to buy a corrado but I am in the final stages of buying a flat in shawlands. The problem is that the flat is just off Kilmarnock road on Coustonholm Road. That is the one at the bank of scotland near the "Cart" and there is a huge speed/access bump there. I have to go so slow in my golf V6 and I think the front valance on the Corrado is even lower and would hit badly. Do any of you know the junction I am talking about and can the VR6 make it over. If I can't get easy access to the street then it's not really practical to buy a corrado. I am not parking it two or three streets away thats for sure and I dont relish the thought of having to go all the way round pollkshaws every time I want to go towards town or battlefield. Please can you advise or even have a look for me. Thanks Ian

Just double checked my possible premium and admiral have just quoted me 550 for a 95 VR6 parked on the street in Shawlands in Glasgow. I am 26 and have 3 yrs no claims. Not bad eh!

I have seen a car in the autotrader that sounds pretty good but the mileage is 124000. On the phone the guy seemed pretty genuine and says the car is in excellent condition has a full VWSH and he has all the receipts. Its 5500ono, what do you reckon? Also I am buying a flat in Shawlands in Glasgow. Do any of you know the area. The flat is on a street where ther is a really high speed bump, I am afraid a corrado wont make it over with out scraping the front chin spoiler badly. It is the coustonholm road/Kilmarnock Road junction (by the bank of scotland) i am talking about. Anybody know if they can get over this bump. If I cany park outside the flat then there is no point. :?:

Where are all these cars, if you dont want the N reg then i do, where are the others too.

I have a 2001 V6 Golf at the mo (selling for 13000 BTW) and it has a six speed box. It is V fast but I am sick of changing gear round town. I dont like pulling away in 2nd so traffic lights tend to be firstsecondthird...fourth. Because I have to change to second so early I find that unless I pull away hard most cars edge ahead. There is no relaxed driving. BUT when you are up and moving in suburbia I can leave it in third and cruise along for ages around junctions, roundabouts etc no problem. Personally I cant wait to get a 5 speed VR6 Corrado

I still own a mk 4 golf but I can say that it is one of the most boring handling cars ever. I have the V6 4motion and though the engine is amazing the car feels really heavy and it is just another mark 4 golf which nobody sees

My car is for sale in the trader this week and once it goes I am loking for a late :!: vr6 (preferably STORM). I want to know as much about the corrado as possible, does anybody know of a buyers guide on the net. I want to know things such as spec changes (ie did the heater contrals change at some point?), proof of genuine storm, service intervals, common problems. Any good sites or books I should look at? Thanks Ian PS IN glasgow if anyone knows a suitable car for sale

I dont have a corrado yet but I use admiral. They were 200 less than anyone else I tried. I have a 2001 golf 4motion and am only 26. I am playing 509 fully comp with 3 yrs NCB

I aqm completely new to this corrado stuff but I have one comment on the different ride heights on each side. My old beemer was the same and the reason was the car is built primarily for the left hand drive market so they leave the lft side higher so that when the driver is in the car the car will then sit completely flat (depending on how fat the driver is) and therefore have the best suspension setting. Clever for left hand drive but crap for right.
