   I really don't like them either, best thing is the passenger one fell off when the car moved!!!

Maybe........my mate did say it didn't feel right when driving though and that was before he brought it up to me

I think the wheel bolts must have sheered off going over a few bumps, couldn't even find them on the road. There were spacers on the front wheels when my mate bought it but he took them off and I suspect he only hand tightened the wheel bolts when he put them back on. Amazingly we got a jack under it, put the wheel back on (I made sure the new wheel bolts were properly tightened this time) and took the car to his house. I told him I certainly wasn't driving it down to his though!!!

Was driving one of my friends many Rado's back down to his house after giving it a good cleaning for him when this happened. Luckily I was going along at a slow speed when it happened and no-one was mamed!!!

cheers, i'm buying the wheels from rimstyle so they should be ok with fitting whatever tyre i'm after

Hey all, Its a long talked about subject but I'm not really all that clued up on what size tyre to put on my new wheels for a good streched looked. The tyres I'm getting with my wheels are all 215 wide and their going on 8" wide wheels up front and 9" wide out back. My worry is I won't get that good a streched looked, can anyone recommend what size I should go for and possible show me some pics of various tyre widths? Cheers Andy

Brilliant thanks for the advice. Now wheres that bodyshop phone number..............................
-
Cheers for the response guys. Think i'm going go for 8" up front and 9" out back setup, my friends thought I was mad going for 9" up front and 9.5" out back! Plus Lee (A20 LEE) has told me my arches would need rolled and pulled 1" on the front and 1.5" on the back to fit the larger setup. I still want to have my arches rolled but does anyone know if they will need pulled as well if I go for 8" up front and 9" out back? The wheel offsets should remain the same as for the wider wheels (ET18 on the front and ET12 on the back) and I won't be going crazy low with the suspension drop just enough so it looks right.
-
Do you think that perhaps running 8" fronts and 9" rears would keep the handling relatively similar to standard or would it give the same effect as 9" fronts and 9.5" rears?

Hey guys, I'm looking to send the car into the bodyshop later this year for a full respray and a few choice changes. While speaking to the owner of the bodyshop I mentioned I would be changing the wheels and lowering the car so would like the arches rolled. He then said I would be better getting the wheels on and the car lowered before he starts any work. This is where I get a bit worried. I know I want 16" Schmidt TH Lines but I want 9" fronts and 9.5" rears (think the chap on the phone mentioned ET18 on the fronts and ET12 on the rears), with KW Variant 2 coilovers. I accept the arches will need work running such wide wheels but will the car's handling/steering etc. be adversly effected? Tyre-wise I'm going for 205/40 on the front and 215/40 out back. Also does anyone know what sort of arch work will be required? i.e. Will all the arches need rolling and pulling/extending? Cheers

Hey guys, Anyone ever replace the sunroof seal on their Corrado before? Thinking of doing mine as it's looking a little aged. Found a brand new genuiene VW item for £50, it's the one that can be seen when the sunroof is shut. Just wondered if anyone knew of any tricks on how to do it or whether I'd be better getting a garage to do it. Cheers Andy

Anyone got Schmidt TH lines on their C or even a pic of a C on them? Can't decide between them or LM's

Hey guys, Just fitted a HID kit to my C. Got it off ebay, never used before. It's for the H4 driving bulbs. Here's the before and after shots. Before After I'm having trouble with the main beam now though. When I pull the left stalk to turn on my main beam the HID's go out. I've tried different wiring setups but nothing seems to work. It looks like a previous owner has installed the uprated wiring loom but I don't know if this is interfering with my new setup. Any help would be much apprieciated as this is really beginning to annoy me now Cheers Andy
