  1. I eventually went with the Supersprint in the end. It generally seems very high quality, and the exhaust tip nicely suits the cut out in the bumper; much better than the OEM one anyway. Unfortunately Supersprint no longer manufacture or stock the pipe from the cat to the centre exhaust (part number 323612), but it's quite easy to fabricate a replacement as it's just a pipe: The dimensions that are required are 55mm internal diameter, 60mm external diameter and 650mm long (though this isn't critical). The best I could find was a bit of stainless 60/56mm, so I had to use a little bit of shim to get a snug fit to the cat (whose output is a straight pipe of 55mm external diameter). A couple of slits are needed in the pipe on this end to allow for clamping, obviously. In terms of noise it's a little bit louder than OEM at idle, but not offensively. It makes subtle but pleasant sounding popping noises when you come off the throttle. It's probably all in my head, but I could swear the throttle responds a bit faster now too.
  2. For the record, the dimensions that are required are 55mm internal diameter, 60mm external diameter and 650mm long (though this isn't critical). 3. OK, I'll give them a look. Cheers for the hoses by the way, they arrived today .
  4. Does anyone know anywhere that sells replacement pistons for the 288/312mm calipers? I bought a pair of these calipers off ebay a few weeks back and they're in good shape except for the pistons, which are marginal. They each have a small amount of surface rust that's crept passed the dust seal. They will probably clean up OK, I think, but if I can get new pistons easily and cheaply it's probably not worth the effort.
  5. Could have been worse, could have happened tomorrow. I drove a couple of mates down to the Lakes earlier on this year only for my water pump gasket to decide it was going to start weeping coolant. As I'm a tight git I had no recovery cover, so I had to limp home a few hundred miles, keeping it under 2000rpm the whole way and stopping to top up the coolant every now and again. This was torture, not to mention embarrassing.
  6. What :cuckoo:? Just use the two bleed valves on the top of the ABS pump, which is located under and to the left of the coolant expansion tank.
  7. Don't forget to bleed the ABS pump after doing the calipers but before the master cylinder. It can also help to activate the ABS pump (by braking really hard) and bleeding again. A pressure bleeder is a must though.
  8. Yeah, I have a similar opinion. He's a stunning driver, but a total, total, bastard on the track. :hitler:
  9. I'd be seriously regretting not putting a reserve on that if I was the seller :ignore:.
  10. When are you expecting to get these brake lines by the way? I've got calipers, discs, bolts, washers and I made some spacers; so all I need now are the hoses :norty:.
  11. I think you'll struggle to get your engine in the dishwasher, to be honest.
  12. It goes like this: VR6_Corrado_Exhaust.jpg[/attachment:241p3l0t] In a Supersprint system the first silencer after the cat is replaced by a pipe. On the VR6 this is the elusive 323612 "front pipe". I've tried everywhere I can find and no one has stock. Furthermore, Supersprint won't make any more without a minimum order of at least 5. I've got a thread about this on here.
  13. Just curious, what does this do to your insurance?
  14. Yeah I've seen that, but I've always been a bit dubious about the information Supersprint put on their website. For example, if you look for the little green star, the front pipe, the centre exhaust and both back boxes all fit to the OEM cat :cuckoo:.
  15. Who are you talking to to get the front hoses on their own? I'll be doing the 312mm conversion soon but I don't need the 6 line kit as I already have MK4 rear brakes.
  16. It would be handy yeah. It's mainly the diameter I'm concerned about as the Supersprint part is described as 55mm but it looks like the options for stainless tubing are 2 1/8 (54mm) and 2 1/4 (57mm), so I'm kind of debating with myself which to get. I need to get hold of the centre exhaust really in order to get an idea of the tolerances of the mating flange on it, but if you could check your pipe's diameter (:camp:) it would be handy. Don't go to too much effort on my behalf though as I probably won't have the bits I need for a wee while yet (seems my supplier is on summer hols :brickwall:). Cheers.
  17. I've got the oval tip. The massive round one looks a bit daft if you ask me and I think it's been discontinued anyway. I'm not sure if I have a local Powerflow, but I'd rather just do it myself, to be honest. I think I have trust issues when it comes to garages :help:. The general consensus seems to be that it's a plain pipe, possibly with no crimping slits at all, and an ID of 2.25". This makes it dead easy really 8).
  18. This is what I've been after really... if it is just a plain pipe with no flanges then any old bit of 2.25" stainless pipe will do the job .
  19. Cool, thanks for that . Any chance you could take a picture of the ends (or just describe them)? I'm interested to see if there are any flanges or slits or if it's just a plain pipe. Thanks again.
  20. Without knowing the dimensions, I wouldn't know which part to get. Besides, surely if anything I'm after a 2.25" ID pipe? Cheers though, lots of useful bits and pieces on there. Does anybody speak french? http://www.comptoirdutuning.fr/fiche-produit-19165.html
  21. ...and could you do me a favour? Supersprint are no longer making this part. They will manufacture some more if a minimum order of 5 can be made, but nobody seems that interested in group buying. As it's just a pipe it'll be straightforward (boom boom) to fabricate one from stock exhaust tubing, but I need to know the dimensions. Neither Supersprint Italy or UK have bothered to reply to my requests for dimensions, so I'm resorting to asking if anyone of here with the obsolete part would be willing to measure it for me? All I really need is the length, outside diameter and inside diameter (if it's easy to disconnect). It would also be useful to know if it has crimping slits at either or both ends? If push comes to shove I can just make it up as I go, but it would be nice to have some idea of what my target should be. Thanks.

  23. Fair enough. Everyone I've spoken to today has a different opinion, which leads me to believe it doesn't really matter that much. So I'm not going to stress over it.
