  1. I had some paint mixed up for my corrado yesterday, only to get home and find they mixed a metalic grey instead of the colour of my car. The label in the boot and my service book says my paint code is LP7Z which is actually the grey colour. Vw say my car is sherry pearl red. Can anyone tell me if they are right?
  2. My vr is my second car. Mainly track day car but i used it for weekends and fun aswell. My daily is a mk3 gti valver. I love both my cars so doesnt bother me having the vr sat at the unit most days. The mk3 is much easier on the pocket. But then i know if i want it the vr is sat there waiting for me.
  3. I've bought my corrado vr as a specific track day car. I had a mk1 2.0 16v but sold it 2 weeks ago to get the C. Like the mk1 i'll be taking it to castle combe vag days. Its £160+ for a day which is only 6 ( i think, might be 5) goes round the track, each go lasting about 10 mins. So its about an hour in total on the track. But its hard going aswell as expensive. Have to wear helmets and long sleeves and trouser, windows shut etc. In the summer its a killer and i doubt i could so more than 6 goes. I am going in july, knowing that when i come home my car will need new tyres, maybe new brakes and maybe even more. I've seen people boil the brake fluid and come off the track into the tyre wall at 100mph. Honestly, i dont think there is a cheap way to do it. last year my hubbys mk1 went round with no probs so only cost the track fee. So if you are lucky if might only cost you £160, but getting the car, and then getting it track ready isnt gonna be massively cheap either.... so so worth it tho, its so much fun. Like someone else said, track days are not about the racing, and actually if someone is coming behind you faster than you , you are meant to signal and move over for them. If i went round the track for fun and someone was on there being a t*t and trying to race everyone it would annoy me a little cuz it can be dangerous, and kinda soils the good mood of the day.
  4. Totally agree about direct access, Cbt only lasts 3 years so might aswell go all the way. I did my cbt 10 years ago (how old do i feel) I always had 4 stroke bikes tho, sound a lot nicer than a little screaming 2 stroke. But they can be so annoying up hills etc.. Just never quite fast enough. I'm trying to convince my hubby its a good idea to both do our full test soon, would be so much easier. I do 25 miles a day and in the summer its a lovely ride if i had a bike. Do it, ya know you want to....
  5. Whats the difference and how do you tell which ones fitted?
  6. I thought about standard 15's but i wanted a 40 or 45 profile tyre and i reckon it would just sit too low once i have my coilovers on, as it is now i cant even get up my driveway.
  7. I'll see what i can do then. Let me know as soon as your selling cuz my c will be off the road till i get new wheels.
  8. I would defo be interested in those, need to try sell my wheels first tho, just spent all my cash on my C
  9. Only got my corrado on saturday but not sure how i feel about the wheels. Its only a track car, i wont use it much on a daily basis as i have a daily mk3 valver. But i cant decide if i should stick with the wheels as they are, paint them, or just change them. I need 2 new tyres on the back, which are 225 40 16's so at least £120, but if i sold them i dont think i'd get anything with good tyres (for track use and to fit once its lowered) so could end up buying wheels and tyres. Will i get better grip on the track with these as they are 9" wide (more rubber touching the ground)?? is it worth me just keeping these?? I just not sold on the look of them, but i do like how fat they look. I thought if i painted them black maybe they would blend in a bit better?? What you all think?
  10. What you guys think about the idea of painting the wheels matt black, with possibly mirrors and boot spolier to match as both need painting???
  11. The r32 lump isnt in yet, hes already got the gearbox, prop shaft, rear difs etc, just saving the cash for the engine now, he is planing to twin charge it aswell, he says his aim is 700bph, which storm told him is doable. I have a feeling i'll be shatting myself in it  I'm only aiming for 300bhp with my vr. Here's the rallye...
  12. I might well start a build thread when it gets started. All i'm doing this year is getting it track ready, hopefully the supercharger will come next year.
  13. I was looking for a G60 but cuz my hubby has a rallye that he is putting an r32 engine etc in i decided a vr would do me better when racing him round the track, as the plan is to supercharge it. Best of both worlds then. :)
  14. Its definately gonna be lowered cuz its a track car mainly, just havent decided on the suspension yet. I'm loving driving it so much it might get used for work for a while aswell.
  15. This is the plan for my vr, used to take my mk1 but wanted something a bit bigger and more comfortable. Just wondering really what suspension sets up would be best for track use? Also the rear wheels are 9" wide, what will they do to my handling?? Any help gratefully recieved.
  16. So this is my first post. I had a vr 3 years ago but only kept it a few weeks, i'd wanted one since i first saw one in the early 90's ( i was only a youngster then) when i got one i'd hyped it for so long i ended up being disapointed. For the last 2 years i've had a mk1 2.0 16v which was only for track days and the odd summer day. But i sold it last weekend and last night picked up my new vr. This one is mainly for the track aswell and i have till july to get it ready for castle combe. I'm really pleased with it, even tho my hubby dislikes it. Purely cuz its burgandy, he'd perfer me to have got a green one that was much rougher lol, just cuz its not burgandy (what a girl eh) I dont like the wheels but cant think of what to change them for, ideally 16" and not too pricey, if you have any suggestions then fire away. I have the original lights aswell and cant decide whether to put them on?
