  1. Unfortunately I think I'm gonna be in this boat soon :( I work approx 2 miles from my current job but looks like I'm gonna be changing jobs in the next few weeks and is gonna be about 20 miles round trip so the 2.9VR6 might need to be swapped to something a bit easier on the petrol. GOD DAMN CREDIT CRUNCH GOD DAMN ROBBING F :censored: G GOVERNMENT FUEL TAX UPPING C :censored: TS and cccaaallllmmm Richi
  2. All good advice re negotiating for a better settlement figure. I unfortunately wrote of my (now ex) girlfriends car off last summer. Was a 55 plate 206cc with 9000 miles on it. Her insurance offered something like 5k for it but we disputed that and sent in examples from autotrader of similar ones for sale up to 8k. Her insurance eventually came back and settled at 7k. Looking on autotrader just now the cheapest VR is nearly 1800 with examples up to 3k. Must be worth a phone call to your insurance company?? Richi
  3. sorry to hear bout this...will keep my eyes peeled down this way too Richi
  4. He's a friend but a fair distance away so not so simple to compare. Just wanted to check before a spend an hour driving down. Gonna get out and check mines at the weekend...not had a chance with work Cheers
  5. thanks...anybody confirm with the MAF?? I have a 1994 VR6 Cheers
  6. I have a friend selling a MAF and coilpack from a 1997 Golf VR6. Are these parts interchangable with the ones on a Corrado?? Would these be worthwhile getting off him as spares in case mines die?? Thanks
  7. After nearly 2 years of ownership I discovered its got a rear wash wipe

  9. I've used an active sub....an Alpine one SWE1000 i think. For me, not being too into my audio its absolutely superb. I've just screwed it to the back seat so it doesnt take up much room and it doesnt break the bank either. I'll try get some pictures up if you want to see??
  10. Cheers.....I've just picked up a good set of foams to retrim my drivers seat :D
  11. as title really....are the early and late front seats the same shape?? ie the bolsters??
  12. you can remove the speedo clocks' surround, and the switches between clocks and middle vent to get access to the lil bit that has broken. yiou can replace it with a little of hard-metal-wire or make one with plastic. Think I've found an easier way....was looking through the guide to remove the dash and seems the vents just clip in. just squeeze and pull lol
  13. Hi folks. the little thumb wheel which opens and closes the middle vent has broken. it seems to have come off the spindle and disappeared into the dash somewhere. can these vents be removed or is it a dash out job?? thanks
  14. cheers all...I'll have a trip to my local factors over the weekend
  15. Good shout with doing the repair from behind...is this stuff easily found?? wont need to go hunting the world will i??
