  1. That is just awesome. Love it! Good work mate :)
  2. I am looking at changing my Corrado 16v to carbs and wondered what forum members thought of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MK1-MK2-GOLF-16v- ... 286.c0.m14 Sorry the link is a long one! Cheers Ian
  3. Have just seen in the Tech section that is is possible to gas flow a throttle body. How is this done, and on a flowed head / rebuilt block could I expect to notice any difference by carrying out this operation? Many thanks
  4. Theres a few cracking looking VR6's including a storm on the autotrader website :)
  5. Suppose some people would rather earn a quick buck by stealing, than go out to work and earn an honest crust. May they're fingers drop off, theiving scum. Mindless vandalism is just pure jealousy imho. Thing is the police are not interested. Witnessed two scroats stealing my wheels a few years ago, called 999 to be told 'this is not an emergency Sir!' soon was an emergency when I replied 'Ok I'll go out with my jack handle and give them a thrashing!' lol Thats the thing nowadays, the crims know the police won't come out and that you'll be in the brown stuff if you take the law into your owns hands. Its very wrong but sadly this is the way our society is heading :( Rant over, hope you get the rims back mate.
  6. Not a bad idea. Im spotting one or two Corrado's round this way just recently. Cosford is nice and central too.
  7. Only just seen this thread, Jaysus Dec you know your stuff mate. What a car. Love that turbo setup, what a work of art that is. Fair play to you mate!
  8. Cheers VR6, am now a member! :) For any other newbies, the link is http://www.corradoclub.org/
  9. Could anyone please tell me if there is a UK Corrado specific owners club that they would recommend joining. I am still new to Corrado ownership so haven't joined an appropriate group. If it makes any difference I am in Shropshire. Also what benefits to the clubs offer? Many thanks in advance. :)
  10. I thought it sounded like the symptoms I had on my old M5 BMW. Glad you got to the bottom of it. :)
  11. Thanks for that. I thought the differences might be more severe so thats a relief. Will be having it port matched anyway. Cheers
  12. I have seen somewhere that the 1.8 16v head flows much better than the 2.0 16v casting. Is this correct and what are the significant differences between the two? Many thanks!
  13. I see what you mean, probably not the best idea.
  14. This seems to be the rage at the moment, seen loads of cars turbo charged this way. Not sure how well it works tho?
  15. Fitted a new heater motor which has stopped the droaning noise coming from the passenger side, what?..... that's the wife, lol Seriously this heater motor is the easiest job I think I have done to date on my Corrado.
  16. Cheers Andy, will drop them a line when Im ready to start on the engine build. :Fade-color
  17. I had this same problem on my BMW M5 a few years ago. Was a fault with the air flow meter. Dunno how much help that is to you?
  18. Cheers Andy, will give them a shout (they're local for me too) Looks like they can sort the cylinder head mods I am after too. Then it will be a rebuild on the bottom end, sports exhaust system inc manifold and a fast road cams. Things are looking up for my Rrado! Yipee!!
  19. Hi, I have a toublesome 1990 Corrado 16v (1800 cc) which will soon be receiving a new engine. What I need to know is, can I remove the K Jetronic fuel injection in favor of a pair of Weber carbs? What manifold would I need and has this swop been done before (IE does anyone have further info on how they did it?) Many thanks Ian
  20. Many thanks for that, will have a look into it. :)
  21. I have a 1990 16v which requires a new clutch slave cylinder. Is the part likely to be dealer only or would my local motor factor stock one? Done my slave and removed the offending plastic from round the pedal already but its still sticking down. Many thanks
  22. I am looking for a replacement 1.8 16v motor for my 1990 Corrado and wondered if anyone could recommend an engine builder? Seen them listed in Big Boys Toys in Golf + but is there anyone else doing them? Many thanks in advance! Ian
  23. Visited my terminally ill Corrado in the workshop this morning. What started as a minor misfire has now escalated into a full engine rebuild. Two of the pistons are badly damaged, the cylinder head is also beyond salvage. Garage are patching it up for now for me to run about in it, but could really do without the cost of an engine rebuild :onfire: I suppose the morale of the story is to take the car to a garage you trust in the first place :(
