  1. Fitted my newly acquired BBS wheels and they look fantastic (thanks so much to slimG60) Had loads of positive comments already!
  2. If anyone needs a pair of calipers with carriers, I have a good pair of rebuildable ones available.
  3. Today I fitted my new number plates and angeleye headlamps.
  4. Try cellulose thinners mate but I would steer clear of wet and dry (suppose micro fine would be ok with lots of T cutting of the lenses afterwards) Dont leave the thinners on, dip a cloth in it and rub quite hard, leaving the thinners on may melt the plastic lenses. Hope that helps? or you can have my rear lamps when I convert to smoked next month? Another idea! Try a plastic scourer, much less likey to scratch the plastic!
  5. How retro do you want it? Very cool! 8)
  6. Greetings, having recently purchased a 90 Corrado 16v I can tell you that whatever model or year you choose, you will not be disappointed! I have owned many cars and the Corrado is the only one that has made me smile from ear to ear!
  7. Sorted my sticking clutch pedal (was catching on the plastic trim under the dash) after Ive just paid a so called mate to do my clutch and a sevice (I supplied all the bits) and he hit me with a £885 bill! :bad-words: I wouldnt mind, but he seems to have forgotten to do the service! Valetted my interior (car has been stood for two years and sprayed leaves and dust out of the vents when you put the blower on) Repaired the tops of my interior door cards, they had shrunk and peeled in the sun, a bit of gentle glueing and they look like brand new again! saved me £££££'s Lookin better but still some way to go, but thats the fun of ownership isnt it?
  8. Spent the morning replacing the windscreen washer pump I broke the other day trying to drain the rather foul smelling water from thr bottle. Dub dealer wanted £40 just for the pump, got a NOS pump and bottle for £11.50 in P+P. A flippin bargain. Have also replaced the washer pipes! Smells much better now! Oh, yeah and I fitted my new wiper blades so I can even see where Im going now!
  9. Thats a bit more like it! :norty:
  10. Thank God that thing never went into production :gag:
  11. Some gorgeous Corrado's there but what about a thread showing just how wrong things can go? For examples see www.barryboys.co.uk (Not for the easily offended) and you'll see what I mean. Classic car butchery
  12. Was more by luck than judgement :)
  13. Nice motor Linds, I am very jealous. Got a long way to go to get mine looking anything like yours!
  14. Spent the day trying to rectify the faults since I had it serviced (sounds well doesn't it) Refitted the genuine spark plugs that the 'mechanic' told me were wrong Changed the wiper blades that I stipulated on my jobs list and was billed for but not done Refitted the vac advance pipes that were left of by the aforementioned 'mechanic' Untrapped the clutch pedal from the dash tray that I was billed for a new clutch for. Booked it into an 'expert' cos Ive been out of the motor trade for 12 years and worried I wouldn't get it right and dont have much spare time working 12 hour days. So after £885 I have fixed it myself. In future I think it'll go to a proper VW dealer or at least someone who knows one end of a car from the other, better still, will do it myself. How angry am I :bad-words:
  15. Well matey, I love my Corrado and am not too worried about getting the money back that I spend, Its really nice to know its quite a rare colour etc, thanks so much for your help, I love it even more now! Still not sure I like the wheels tho?
  16. Cheers Walesy, will get on about the headlining, a previous owner has stapled mine back up lol! So with the lack of sunroof and the unusual colour, is it worth spending a bit getting it right ?
  17. True, Shropshire folk are pretty friendly. But then I have not really travelled so dunno what other areas are like. Lived in Coventry for a couple of years and must say I was suprised how nice the people round there were being a big city. Would never move from the tranquility of Bridgnorth again tho! Green green grass is set just a few miles from my home and I suppose I am a bit like Elgin Sparrowhawk! lol
  18. Cheers Andy, do you get along to Tweedale? Hoping to go to the next meeting! Im in Oldbury village if you ever fancy popping in for coffee (will give the Mrs something to do! )
  19. Hi Mrbeige, so you are not in Shropshire any more then?
  20. Bridgnorth matey. Do you know it? Home of the Severn Valley Steam Railway!
  21. Hi All, thought I'd post a couple of pics of my new pride and joy, a 1990 Corrado 16v in metallic green, grey, green, grey well its hard to tell really! The car is totally standard inc the Golf Rallye style wheels and has just had a fortune spent on its mechanicals. She goes like a dream with only a few niggling faults (very minor really for its age) This is my first Corrado and I must say, I am hooked on it. Git to sort a minor splutter when accelerating from cold, (just waiting for the injector cleaner to do its thing!) and a sticky clutch pedal (has had a new clutch already) then it'll be onto the bodywork and a bare metal respray. Does anyone have a spare 90mm front spoiler for sale? I opted for a non sunroof model and am also looking for a headlining, are they still available? Anyway, heres's the pics! Hope you like it. Please feel free to let me know what you think! Ian
