hi all, after my recent experience of a wheel falling off, i was wondering for extra security, can ya get longer 17mm wheel bolts for a '90 16v corrado??? ... and where from, lol, cheers!! rob.
-
cool!! have fun ;) rob
-
well my insurance was £1400, not complaining, the mini was £2400 when i first got it, lol yeah, my mate has a mk2 golf, absolute beauty, maybe have a trip out when mine is back on the road!! rob.
-
chinley, its in the high peak, near buxton??? prob about an hour away from sheffield. i love the mini, wanna get another when i can afford a sunday car thats kept in a heated garage, lol!! rob.
-
mine should have been that, lol £400 sounds a bloody bargain!!! where abouts ya from?? if your close we could learn the ropes together, like i say, ive not had mine too long, you'll love the way it drives though, and unlike the mini, things make proper sense, lol, rob.
-
hey, gutting that!! i would have thought plugs and leads to begin with?? thats where i would have started... but i've not had a corrado too long, so maybe the other guys will know some various things that may solve it for ya!! good luck with it!! rob.
-
hey, i just got rid of my '97 cooper beast for a rado too, im still gutted about it, but it was not practical for me, as i may be needing to travel for my job, and 3000 revs in 4th at 70 is not the most pleasent experience of my life, lol. defo put some pics up, still need to do some of mine!! i hope you have more luck with yours though, mines off the road after only 3-4weeks!! how many miles has it got on the clock?? defo the only car that i got any where near as big a grin with other than the mini!! enjoy!! rob.

hey guys, sorry forgot to say, its a 1990 valver, not vr, sorry to confuse!!! where can i get the hub and bearingg60karmann??? is it an easy enough job, im fairly technically minded??? cheers all!! rob!!
-

cheers dinkus just found a wishbone for £25 on fleabay just asked a few peeps on the sales screen for the hub, thats what im desperate 4!! lol never thought of the wheeel allignment, will bear that in mind!! cheers rob

hey pal!!! i maybe wanting those legs off ya critical mass!! but can't afford it at the mo as i have had a wheel fall off - see bad day thread, lol do ya mind if i pm ya should i get in the position to buy them off ya? cheers, rob.
-
hey guys, sorry, not been able to get to a comp. thanks for the replies!!! basically i dont know how the prev owner has done this, but the hub is just knackered!!! i tried new bolts but they just shredded as they went in, and its not just me!!! lol cant afford to do anything with it at the mo, im sure you all know how hard money is at the mo!! i'll, get some pics for you all!!! as far as the wishbone is - it looks like someone has gone to the effort of making a stainless steel plate and bolted it over - personally i would have bought a new one!!! lol i'm investing in some axle stands on pay day, i will then post up some pics, i'm sure it will cause a debate!! im more anoyed at myself for not checking it, but it is my first corrado, so thats my excuse :) cheers all!!! rob.

hey guys - well, i think i've done it again... i bought a lemon, lol went to go and get some maggots for the bank holiday fishing trip, and ended up having the worst journey in history!! even the mini never gave me this much trouble, lol. i was driving along and thought, whats that awful noise, then realising it was getting increasingly worse, pulled over, and then my wheel fell off at 5 mph, lol, man am i angry. i have discovered that who ever had my car previously has sheered the bolt that holds the disc on, cross threaded all the wheel nuts, and it has finally given way. so i now cant drive my car!! also, i looked on the other side, and it looks like the wishbone has been plated up - not a healthy car now, lol. so if anyone has any hubs/discs/advice on the go, i would be most grateful, lol thanks peeps!!! rob.
-
ooh - thats just happened on mine!!! see help topic, lol maybe just a new top plate then??? mine handled like a boat getting it back home, lol, woops ;) rob.
-
lol, cheers!!! bugger, i've got mk2 rear shocks and legs, looks like im gonna have to find some quick then!!! lol cheers mate!! rob.
-
hey guys, thanks for the replies - mines a 1800 valver - and thanks critical mass, but i'm not massivly keen on lowered suspension after my mini - the roads where i am really dont like cars with lowered suspension, and i dont have a 100 quid at the mo - i went and bought those borbet c's off raddotom, lol. just to confirm, they are the same as the mk2 golf ones aren't they??? oh... and dont panic - were doing both sides - daylight permitting, lol. cheers, rob.
-
hey guys - ad a look with one of my mates - andwe've decided its a whole new leg job - new mounts etc... lol, can't believe i broke it after only 3 weeks - im gutted, thanks for te replies peeps - just another one though - how much is a resonable price for a second hand leg - me mates letting me have his cos he's keeping his lowered for now and don't wanna screw him outta money, he's too nice and would prob just give it to me!!! cheers, rob.
-
hi guys, lol, could makt this a game - your all wrong  i took most of the boot apart and discovered that the nearside shock was sat mostly in the boot, lol, looked like the metal flange bit had slowly become rotten and popped into the boot - woops. so the banging was actually the top of the shock hitting the speaker shelf - lol so am i right in thinking that i need a mk2 golf shock?? same thing as the corrado, cheers guys!!!! rob.
-
hi all, i get the feeling i may be about to be laughed at, but... i think i broke me car!! lol im getting a really loud banging when i go over even the smallest of pot holes, its really loud lol has anybody had that before at all, all i did was go over a biggish pot hole, but even my mini would have withstood iit (i didn't go over it intentionally, wasn't concentrating on my way home from work late last night). i've emptied the rubbish out of the boot, and its not the spare wheel, it sounds like its coming from the rear nearside?? cant work it out, were having a proper look later with luck. i hope i don't get called out!!! cheers all!! rob.
-
well that makes sense!!! cheers mate for that!! i've just found a little leak from the rubber hoses at the back of the engine bay going into the bulkhead!! hopefully should just tighten u with any luck!!! just out of interest... where do you get your parts from...? is there like a corrado parts specialist?? cheers again!! rob.
-
hey guys - well i finally got one, so if i ask any stupid q's then please bear with me... lol i got a 1990 16v 1800 - absolutly love it!! but i noticed the other day that a little red led keeps flashing at me from the temp gauge??? is this telling me off for driving on a cold engine... or is it something more serious.. and i've bought a lemon... lol please be honest... i can take the stick if its needed!!! (i didn't get a user manual/handbook with it... so don't know what things do!!!! - if ya know whgere i can get one that would be great too!!) cheers, rob.
-
cheers guys!!! good to see that there is plenty of good humour here, lol!! he did say that there was loads of service history with it, will just have to see what i think on sunday.. oh well... looks like my mini will be sold in the next week, things are moving a bit quick me thinks!!! lol
-
hi matey, cheers for that!! does it really matter about mileage on these cars, from what i've looked into them, i dont think it does? i do really like this one though!! rob. oh... and on the pic of the underneath of the car - i cant work out what the red parts are... lol, its prob gonna be quite obvious
-
hi everbody!! i'm new to the site, so sorry if i've put this post in the wrong part of the forum!! basically i've always wanted a corrado, and i'm finally in the position to get one, but i was just wanting some advice on this one - (link) http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... x_mileage= i phoned the guy who is the current owner, and he says he has done lots of work to it, but has just run out of time and space... he says its on;y done a hundred miles since its last test, but it has now got no mot due to it being sat on his drive not being used. any thoughts on it?? he was very helpful ans said i could properly inspect it with my mechanic mate, but has anyone got any ideas whether i should go 4 it?? cheers, rob. ps - great site!!
