  11. Realised i've spent far too long on here admiring photo's of other people's cars and never posted any of mine! So here goes - stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfSDC10734.JPG[/attachment:100kz2lo] Purchased the car back in October 2008 from a bloke who lived just outside Bath, it had been used mainly by his wife in their 7 years of ownership. I had owned a 92 16v before and like most people made the progression upto a VR. It had 97,500 miles on the clock with full history. There was no major faults but like every car you ever buy there was several small things to sort such as cracked indicators and fogs, rotten sunroof seal, paint flaking rear bumper etc etc Anyway in the year and half ownership i have put 16,000 miles on the clock, replaced the rear bumper, fitted a stainless exhaust, fitted a k&n induction kit, red tinted the rear lights, lamin-x'd the headlights, replaced the indicators and fogs, new sunroof seal and a host of other small bits and bobs Late in 2009 the car began using a lot of water and oil, most of it coming out of the exhaust as steam and blue smoke! At that time i decided if i was going to spend money on it i might aswel get all the engine work done in one big go, so out came the engine and work done was - head skimmed, new headgasket, new piston rings, new clutch, new radiator, new timing chains, new water pump and numerous new hoses etc etc. So with all my money going into the engine bay and nothing really to "show" for it i've had to wait til i can afford to spend money on the "looks" department. Recently "conker" on here was selling a set of wheels which i fell in love with and after some messing about with wheel spacers i got them to fit. I think they really suit the car, yes i know its perhaps a bit high but the whole suspension is due an overhaul in the next year so we'll see what i can afford. Here's some more photo's i took this morning. Cheers IanCorrado92.pdfSDC10736.JPG[/attachment:100kz2lo]passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfSDC10737.JPG[/attachment:100kz2lo]climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfSDC10735.JPG[/attachment:100kz2lo]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfSDC10738.JPG[/attachment:100kz2lo]SDC10739.JPG[/attachment:100kz2lo]
  12. Got round the problem, took it to a local wheel garage and spent best part of an hour trying different size spacers and longer nuts. Originally thought 6mm spacer would give enough to clear the caliper bar but the wheel was still touching! In the end it took 7.5mm of spacers on the front to get the clearence needed and of course longer nuts! I've put the 2.5mm spacers on the back just so it doesn't look too narrow compared to the front. Wheels are on now though and look brill! :D
  13. J200 DUB this morning about 10.30 on Moor Lane Derby.
  14. Sorry about the poor quality photos, here is my passenger side front left brakes, it isn't actually the part of the caliper where the pads are inside its a bar that sort of comes off the caliper that was catching, sorry for poor explanation. Cheers Ian2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfSDC10732.JPG[/attachment:3dhtb8pr]SDC10733.JPG[/attachment:3dhtb8pr]
  15. Bit confused, brought the below set of alloys this weekend off "conker" on here. He also supplied the 2.5 mm spacers shown in the other photo. I tried fitting the passenger side front wheel with a spacer on and found the back of the wheel is tight up against the brake caliper! So much that the wheel won't turn! I tried fitting both spacers so thats 5mm and the wheel is still touching the caliper! "conker" ensures me he has standard brake set-up and the wheels fited fine with just 1 spacer each side. I too have a standard brake set-up. I'm now going to have to buy bigger spacers and longer wheel nuts Is there a difference between the brake calipers on a 92 vr6 and a 95 vr6????????????
