  1. Okay... Well Having given it some thought I am starting to lean towards holding back, saving a little money and doing it properly!! With that in mind is it worth me considering a coil over setup and if so what should I be considering? Where do the figures jump to when considering coil overs?
  2. Indeed I am a subtle mod fan. Given that I intend on dusting the avg porche when cruizing the motor way - I want it to look clean, but close to standard. Um... so about the grill and front setup... on the first pic above - who does that grill, badge & eyelid? Where can I get? Cheers, Leon
  3. Hello all, Well I am lucky enough to have in my possesion a rather rapid corrado... Down side here is the car is an F/89 REG and is imjported from Germany and needs a lot of cleaning up. Question is where do I begin? I am having questions about the sanity of keeping the car (Car is advertised for sale on PVW  ) but I do sortof intend on keeping it as my baby. My question is where to begin. I am thinking number one is get a nice Leather based RHD chassis and transfer all the stuff across. Then go from there?? A late plate with service history liked to the car. preferably lowish mile car. Anyways, ignoring the chassis change... where do I start? Body Kit? I am not one for OTT cars. I want something that looks mean, but civil. Kinda like what you would think of a S/RS audi. They look very mean, but at the same time respectable. My first question is are side skirts a good idea? Second - Do I take off the rubber strip (bump stop??) down the side of the car? Front Grill/Spoiler... would you get an all in one grill/spoiler de-badged and colour code it, or get separate/keep VW badge? I may add questions as we go along, but that is about all for now :) 8)
  4. Obviously it is high on my list. I was just questioning the price really? Is that right? From the point of view of control etc... for £200 a full set of springs and shocks all round may well do the car better than just a couple of front shocks with the old Koni springs in there? :?:
  5. Price diff on my quote with tesco was £700 on a £1300 policy to change from NN11 to E18. That is a change of B to D??? Shocking!!
  6. Live next door to Stevens... not bad, perhaps a little pricey, but they have a lot of stuff there. Call them on 02085305550
  7. Hello all, Well spoken to Stealth, all very good. :) Only one concern really is the price on shocks. Given my limited budget I can only do 2 x front shocks currently - Stealth are wanting 200 just for 2 front TA Konis. Given that people like awesome are offering full BIlstein Kit with springs and shocks for 195 I just dont see how I can justify paying that for 2 shocks?? Any thoughts on this? :( :? :|
  8. Hello all, Was after some form of gallery of rados. Im looking to tidy up my beast and was looking for ideas. Any ideas on websites that offer a good nline catalogue for rado stuff that I can brwose? Cheers, Leon
  9. Thanks Kev for this and the extended version via pm!! Much appreciated. My only real question is where can I go as a one stop shop to get all the suspension, the bushes, new wishbones cv boots etc. I really want to make it as simple as possible from a decent supplier that will supply good quality stuff. The CVs I intend to leave as is. I merely want them cleaned out and re-greased with new boots. Engine mounts will come at a later stage - boost controller first. VR6 top mounts?? Really - Reason? Anyone elses input much appreciated. I intend to get this done next weekend once pay comes through :) Cheers, Leon
  10. Please look at the post below?? Pretty please?? http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6877 Much appreciated, just want to ensure the post gets the needed attention in the mods section :) Cheers, Leon
  11. PS: Ensure if you do go ahead you fill the oil pump with oil before fitting it. You may want to consider putting grease in the two cogs to ensure it gets up oil pressure nice and quick when you start it. If dry it will take forever to get pressure up and could cause damage.
  12. Deffo sounds like the pump... wouldnt drive it if I were you. Pump is easy enough to change, maybe £40 new and you will need a new sump gasket. Shouldnt take a garage more than an hour to change, so not pricey. If you feel confident doing it, go for it. 10 odd bolts on the sump (Obviously drop the oil first). Two bolts holding the pump in place, pull it down, put the new pump in place. New gasket on the sump, fit the sump back, new oil & filter and away you go. Not a bad idea to replace the pump even if it is just the switch, not worth giving it a miss just incase it is weak.
  13. Hello all, Well, now I have my Corrado, I am looking to make it behave on the roads and be safe and fun. The rado is a G60 chassis... was wondering what suggestions were regarding: What drop? I am running 17s with a 40mm drop, but not sure of the make or quality, so looking to replace it all. Maybe 35-40mm drop? Not looking at coil overs, just good quality std strut setup. Anti-Roll Bars? Should I be upgrading these/adding? Again, what brands... What bushes? Powerflex bush set? Can I get these and if so from where, any alternative brand recommendations? Top Mounts & Wishbones? These should be replaced? Again what from where? Genuine VW only? Need to service driveshafts: Looking at replacing all the boots and getting the CVs re-greased and looked at. With regard to CV boots what should I get? Genuine VW or 3rd party stuff alright? Any other advice regarding a suspension upgrade would be much appreciated. I need this setup to be safe and designed to last. Many thanks in advance. Leon
  14. Will try it this weekend... will let you know. I SHOULD have chance to try it out.
  15. Right... Got all the info. My only question is would a front Passat handle fit and if so could I change the locks round so I dont need new keys?
  16. Oh buga... never thought of that. Mmmm, well the LHD is not too bad, well so I thought. Only curbed it BAD BAD BAD on brand new 17s... :( Hit an island... was not paying attantion. Knocked the alignment out and all sorts. Going to get is looked at this weekend, cross fingers everythig is alright. Will do a search, thanks guys.
  17. Hello all, Well, I believe this is a common problem. I have just bought my rado and the LHS door hadle is buggered. Now normally this would not bother me too much - given I am in the UK and the car is LHD... this IS a pain in the arse... help. Where can I get a decent handle for it? Is there an alternative? passat or something? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Leon
