    Hic quote

It is a bit of a lottery, they quoted me £288 last week for my g60. Spoke to a really freindly guy who was into vw's, after that went back to Adrian Flux who initially gave me a renewal price of £420 and they beat the HIC quote, always worth phoning around!
  2. Think it's light grey, paint code lp7z I think Cheer Scott
  3. Here's mine on a windsurfing trip last year, amazing how much stuff you can get in with the seats down!
  4. Could you add me to the 3rd batch list please Thanks Scott
  5. Cheers for the parcel shelf, good to meet you the other day and good luck with the VR project Cheers Scott
  6. Been a busy week with the car, rear calipers have been replaced as the old ones were knackered. Had a leak in the power steering which has now been sorted. Spent Sunday removing the DDI dials and reverting back to almost standard, i have replaced the green filter with a white one, kept the orange needles and the dial surrounds Never really took to the DDI dials think this is a good compromise. Does anyone know if there are heater control panels without the green filter in, i'm sure i have seen them somewhere before? This week its back in the garage having the spare charger put in so i can get the other one serviced (both stage 4 so shouldn't be any difference) Cheers Scott
  7. Could you email me the pics please i have pm'd my email address, i currently dont have a phone which is a complete pain in the arse! Cheers Scott
  8. Black is what i'm after, do you have any pics of the condition? Where abouts in leicester are you i can probably pick it up Thanks Scott

  12. Payment sent for calipers, i have sent a pm about the delivery address could you just confirm you have the correct one Cheers Scott
  13. Hello Do you still have the mk4 golf rear calipers, are they oem parts? If so I will take them. I need these early next week if I send the money now can you get them posted Sat? Cheers Scott
  14. I am about to sell my g60, i haven't put an add up yet but you can see some pics linked below, where are you based? Cheers Scott
  15. I'm pretty sure it's the £50 one from what I remember. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&storeId=10001&productId=895617&langId=-1&categoryId=165611 I can get a pic over the weekend, as Jim says they are a good fit. I just found it a hassle putting it on and taking it off on a daily basis especially when it was wet or windy Cheers Scott
  16. Where are you based, I have a halfords one no longer required, you can have for a tenner Cheers Scott
  17. He tried selling me a car that was completely un road worthy and when I pointed out a number of issues he claimed he hadn't noticed them which was quite blatantly a lie, the car had been warmed up before I arrived and all the time I was there he was realy blunt and rude... This car may be alright just make sure you really check it over I would just rather people didn't deal with this guy. I can imagine he does stuff like removing grill badges and first aid kits to sell separately.
  18. This guy seriously messed me around and I would advise to stay well away. There are regularly good examples which come up on this forum which is where I would be looking. Cheers Scott
  19. Thanks for the replies, after reading the mk4 setup thread it does seem straight forward just calipers and hoses so i'll get them ordered tomorrow. As for them being obselete i'm not sure why they told me this, are them some differences between early/late or g60/vr6 brakes? Maybe certain ones are now obselete others still available Cheers Scott
  20. Hello After a bit of help, I need to replace my rear brake calipers but of course they are obselete through vw now. I can see there are a variety of aftermarket ones available, any ideas which ones i should go for? Any help is much appreciated Thanks Scott
  21. I was told/read that it was at some point in August '92 and mine is registered at the beginning of that month. To be fair there doesn't seem to be much difference between having one and not, might have something to do with the old exhaust being s*#te though. Keeping it clean will be the challenge! ---------- Post added at 6:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:24 PM ---------- Thanks, a couple of months ago I was contemplating getting rid as problems kept appearing, but I have found the love again, well until the next thing goes wrong! The best thing about it now is it doesn't fill up with water every time it rains
  22. Hello, Another update, the exhaust was coming to the end of its life so I got it replaced yesterday. Also had a sports cat fitted as it seemed to raise questions at mot time not having one, never got a straight answer on what the cut over date was for having one. Exhaust is a powerflow 2 box system and so far very happy with it not to noisy until you really put your foot down, then again the last exhaust was blowing out of every joint so it was always going to be quieter than that. A couple of pics attached: Cheers Scott
  23. I used to own that car sold it on about 4 years ago to a guy at work. Didn't really give me any problems, i did replace the exhaust, I was planning to replace the wheels myself but ended up getting the G60. The guy I sold it to lost the splitter and don't think he bothered replacing it. Haven't seen it for a couple of years so nice to see its still going! Cheers Scott
  24. A bit of an update, started getting water in both footwells every time it rained played around with doorcard scuttle area and some other things trying to locate the issue. In the i traced the leak back to the top of the windscreen which i found a bit strange until i pulled away the trim round the windscreen and found a 2 holes and a serious amount of rust: A bit of welding and rust treatment required but should be able to get back out in the rain shortly without getting wet! Unfortunately the screen cracked when it was taken out so that will have to be replaced to, should have it back from the body shop shortly. Cheers Scott
