Just been playing in one this afternoon, left it with around 265bhp and going on 300ftlb. For the money they're fantastic cars. There is actually a 4x4 Leon Cupra available we just don't get them in this country and they don't come in 'R' guise. Leon Cupra 4 comes in PD150, VR6, and 1.8T.

I'm going to be putting my ARY 1.8T engine in the Corrado in the new year (obviously replacing the small K03!), going to be using a 6speed 02M box. Running it on the stock ECU slightly fettled to allow me to play with it. Should be quite a nice little car. Don't intend to work out a specific budget, but will be making use of contacts to get cheap stuff!

Cheers VR6, couldn't decide where to put it. Was supposed to include pics of my car!

Went up to Donnington this Sunday gone with a few friends from CGTI and Seatcupra.net. Very, very wet the following pic puts the day into perspective, a fair few incidents!...

Popped down at lunch to see what was going on, didn't get to say hello to many people as I spent most of the time talking shop etc. with the guys from Stealth. Some nice cars there though!

The VW Cup's a good little series to follow, had a lot of fun at the event's this year. Unfortunatley the "rather nice" 1.8T Lupo was rolled and written off in practice at the final event, thus losing 1st place overall to the MKI. Did a bit of work with Big Boy's Toy's Beetle this season, should be helping out with that one again next year. Should be interesting!

Cheers all, I'll keep you posted on the progress. Don't think I'll be putting the engine in until some point in the new year. The cage and interior should be done over the next few weeks (if I get time!)

Paid 3.5k, she's had a bit of engine work; head, cam, chip, pulley. A full manifold back exhaust. Koni/Eibach sus, Eibach ARB's, etc, etc. She's a fantastic car now but I've got a couple of ideas and some stuff lined up for her, need to get this lot in. Should be incredible once I've finished!

Cheers! :D She's in amazing condition, has certainly been looked after.

Picked up my Corrado G60, well impressed I've wanted a C for ages. Thought you'd like to see it, came from a very good home! Got a 1.8T engine waiting to go in. I'll be stripping out the interior to put my Sparco's, and a Cage in. Going to sell the wheels, Koni/Eibach suspension, etc. as it'll all be changed!

Talking about the weight of the bonnet's does anyone know of anybody that makes CF bonnets for the Corrado?

Ummm, considering that for next winters project. Suppose I best get the car first and get the my engine in it this winter! Would be great for sprints etc. a bit heavy on track though! Nice :)

Cheers Guys, I'm looking at this as my only car, it will get a lot of track use but will also be used everyday. I'm not fussed about the creature comforts as such been running stripped out cars with full cages on the road for a while. I've looked at Golf 1's and 2's can't get a decent MKI for love nor money, and in all honesty I want something a little different than the crowd. As much as I love them there are a lot of MKII golfs about. The Ibiza I had ran with a single seat, 6 point cage, 15 x 7" rims (I'm in total agreement on that topic 'G60'), 280's with Ferrodo DS3000's etc. Bilsteins, ARB's, etc. That thing was only a little 2.0 8v but it didn't weigh a huge amount and handled like a dream. I know the corrado is a little on the heavy side but I can see a huge amount of potential. I'll have a look on EKTA but what is giving the later VR a wider track? Different uprights, driveshafts, wheel offset's? Not having much luck finding time to go out and look at any at the moment!

Hello all, fantastic forum. I'm looking into getting a Corrado as my last car has ceased to exist...The Ring takes another prisoner Hopefully you can give me some advice! Not sure which model to go for, basically I do alot of on track driving and I would be uprating the majority of components regardless of the car. I've pretty much decided against a G60 as imo I doubt any s/charger would last very long unless that is I changed it for a turbo. The VR6 is probably going to be too heavy as I like to throw my cars around alot. I think a 2.0l 16v with some engine and gearbox work has good potential, with a proggression to T/B's if not a 20vt + GT33r transplant at a later date. I've heard very good things about the on road handling of the corrado, and would assume I could further enhance this for the track with coilovers, ARB's, polybushes, roll cage, some neg camber etc. Having little experience with a Corrado I'd appreciate any advice or opinions you have, especially if any of you are regular trackday goers and run a 'track' prepared Corrado! Thankyou in advance
