  1. gutted...reminded me of my aqua blue corrado last year. Its that colour i think...won't be touching it again, i think i'll stick to black. Well i hope all works out for you and your back in another again, and good luck breaking the car too...Sanj.
  2. just spoke to vince at stealth...he recommends the stand VR clutch from GSF...LUK or whatever...it'll do the job, so thanks guys...search is over for the time being.. Also got a qoute on a Helix Clutch for £280 from them i think minus VAT.
  3. what make is this standard kit? and would it be able to cope with the power... I'd buy a black diamond clutch, but have heard the friction plate is just OE and the rest is too strong that it breaks... No-one has a Sachs clutch in their VR? Sorry Tom...haven't been on the forum much recently and didn't realise. Sanj.
  4. Anyone know where I could buy a Sachs powerclutch or a standard sachs clutch from?? I've been on a number of sites...stealth racing are busy at the min and i can't ask vince there. I need the clutch for a 20vt engine, and i've been qouted £431 by triple 8 performance (sachs dealer) for a clutch kit. GSF no longer do them apparently, which is what i was told at both the daventry and coventry branches...unless steve can tell me otherwise  If anyone know of a 'cheap' clutch that can handle tuned VR power (200-250bhp)...not crazy standing starts but daily driving, then please let me know. Sanj.
  5. ok..not been on for a long while, but i do try to come on at work and browse through the threads....this conversion in particular is just great to follow! Any chance a few photos could be sent to me phatty of different shots, i.e. rear diff, engine, corrado without the front end...with it all finished. I wanna make an A3 printed poster of your car and have it placed on my wall...coxxy, your doing great too mate...i hope you do get on pvw's front cover! Fantastic stuff...cya at inters and keep up the work. Sanj.
  6. phat...your sure the wheels you asked about werent Artec turbos? Artec P-turbo: check out...if they are. [web]http://www.pamminger-tuning.at/Produkte ... teilig.htm[/web] Sanj.
  7. check this out mate...it'll cheer you up: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 6144482669 still got a phatter car than a porsche!
  8. what a complete and utter tw*t...he had no advice to give you in reply to your wheels and showed no real interest in the corrado having porsche brakes...in summary didnt help one bit, but kinda gang up on you using the magazine readers (porka lot), saying the parts shouldnt be used on a 'lesser' car...what a complete and utter f*cker...that made me go mad that bit, the corrado is more of a car to own than his...regardless of the price tag and performance! I think he needs to get off his high horse..
  9. fantastic car...i hope its well looked aftered. :)
  10. lookin good bolly...hahah...kinda looks to me like you've given it a nice bodyshop tidyup, that paint is mint and them wheels look good as usual! i like how you've changed the back lights...it looks proper nice and subtle! Hope everythings goin ok mate... Dogprince aka sanj.
  11. hasan mate...can you let me know how your soldering the led's onto the pcb (e.g. how are they connected, and where in the circuit will the resistor sit)...i think i'm gonna make a few of these and use them in my boot install (under the shelf supports and below each amp) perhaps even inside the heater vents or if i'm feeling daring...then under each seat.

    RE spray

he probably spent the best part of 2hrs per qaurter...them windows are a right bugger to get out! You need a tool with two pull handles one either end of a piece of string that can be pushed behind the front of the window seal, then you pull left to right in a cutting motion and cut the seel till the window pulls free. Same goes for the windscreen....but i reccomend a new one, if you can pull a few strings with insurance and get a new one put in. Theres a guy near me who does A-class jobs...top jobs, he used to work for BMW i think, and qouted me £450 to spray just my bonnet and one wing on the corrado...that inc. blowing down the door to blend it in. His prices are quite high, but i suppose its qaulity you pay for. His contact details are: Paul Cox panel and paint ltd. unit 6, 8 hartburn close, crowlane ind. estate, northampton. 01604 784466.
  13. hmm johns car is fast...i dont think its 290bhp...i heard it could be more. I know him through a friend and he's a top bloke...leant me his mille miglia's to get me through an mot...
  14. Still cant wait to finally see this machine...still very impressed looking at them pics again, lets hope it becomes 4wd over this month if you ave the time mate. I'll keep checking back for the developments and sound clips..even video clips if you get any up...you have given me a massive inspiration, i just need a bigger pocket to carry out what i need to do.
  15. same here....that car was the biz. An ultra shame i never got to buy that shell mate. Hope the project is comin on nicely. Sanj.
  16. on a seperate note...the older style joystick mirror control switch and the spoiler control switch under the steering column DO NOT light up...so leave them alone. or else you will break them for no reason....as someone found out. (not me  )
  17. i'm having that same problem mate...i've just put up with it, as the other led's in the switches are doin my head in being so damn bright. I think sooner or later i'll just buy a blue EL strip from somewhere and solder it to the metal contacts the bulbs touch...on the corrado its easier as you have the metal strips that run along the top, which with some effort (may need to sand the spots down, so the solder will stick to it). I think a guy on the corrado club of canada did this..and was much brighter. I didn't use the normal led's as this would create a spot of light either side of the clock pod and not look right. I'm surprised your's isn't as bright though, cos you have three bulbs and i only have two. :|
  18. Lenso KR5's being my choice...they would suit it very well, look unique too...i haven't seen them at all in the flesh, but that pic seems to really make them stand out more than the other wheels. 8)
  19. i did the conversion in my early style corrado 16v...i used a blue led behind the heater section and used wet and dry 1000grade to carefully scrape off the green filter from behind the slider control film. I also put 3mm blue led's and inline resisters into osram twist bulbs and got rid fo the green filters behind the MFA LCD's and at the top of the clocks altogether. Ultraled's does these osram bulb holders with the led colour of your choice already in them...so straight swap once you get the green filter paper out. These are some shots from last year in the gallery section: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4120 and ultrled's site is: http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/ I've sort of started work on my new polo 16v now: the mirror switch below is very similar to the later VR6 style...the same infact i think...and uses 4x 3mm led's wired in series...so each gets 3.5v's...so stick blue ones in and its a straight swap. I used heat shrink from Rob at ultrled's too...which was used to cover the leg that i soldered the resistor to. Since the pics were taken...i have used frosted blue LED bulbs (they spread the light out) in the clock pod, red 12v 5mm led's behind the MFA LCDs. And am using a Seat ibiza heater section in red (comes red on the ibiza's) and am working on changing the headlamp switch to blue when i get a spare to work on.
  20. wow...i take it back. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... eName=WDVW
  21. "I was going to get a second hand engine (seen em for £250 on ebay) and swap it but cant be bothered in the cold weather" Have you guys seen a VR engine go for that?...why not just buy a 16v for that sort of money and then buy a knackered VR and put it in. oh well...sad to see them run about like that. :?
  22. it looks like a mutant Mk1 golf G60.
  23. ok mate..well firstly... 1.) it should only be a small leak...so nothing majorly to worry about...and it will affect your fuel consumption more. Have you turned the car on and watched for any watery leaks coming out of the crack? 2.) if the answer to above was yes...then maybe...you can get it braze welded with brass rods..but its best to just replace it altogether. If the 2ltr 16v has the same manifold as the 1.8 16v then i can help...i have one in perfect condtion. 3.) theres nothing wrong with your cat...so no...dont need to change that, unless you really think you want one...but thats just silly money! Sanjay.
