  1. Been a long time since my last post but here goes. Decided i needed some more stopping power, so i got Rob_B of here to make me some brackets up and supply some calipers and fittings for me. Porsche (Brembo) calipers, braided hoses, ibiza cupra r discs. Have just fitted some Compomotive as i've always wanted a set on my car, gold wasn't my ideal choice but i think they suit the car quite well. Could do with a refurb at some point. Other stuff i've been busy with is, removing the carbon cannister, installed a boost gauge in a custom carbon fibre surround where ash try goes and I think that's about it.
  2. Worth checking you clutch slave cylinder for leaks, just undo the two bolts that hold it to the g/box and pull it out slightly to check
  3. Nugget Yellow G60 spotted in Erdington, Birmingham by six ways island, parked up on a drive, has been there atleast the last two days. Reg - C12 RDO
  4. My 92 g60 has a NON sunken version
  5. From reading other threads, it seems to be a common problem people putting the arb on upside down..
  6. Mine does this too, the previous owner had to fit a cutoff switch by the battery. Would like to know how to fix it though as its annoying having the lift the bonnet every time I park up.
  7. Dark blue corrado, dark wheels with polished rims, possibly a de-badged grill too. At the island by Elland Road Stadium, Leeds at 10am ish this morning.
  8. In Boldmere, so not far at all. See you around.
  9. Ah cheers for the compliment lol I can't say i've seen you before, so must have been deep in thought and drove past. The Mk1 you had also looked very tidy. I'll stop by next time i see you about.
  10. That's me matey. Always pass your car, certainly looked dirty on saturday, i think you'll see my car alot more around Sutton now as i've just had to move where it has been stored for the last 12 months. Could you tell it was a G60? I know you heard me before you saw me lol. Luke
  11. The wheels i have no idea what they are. The centre caps on them i could not read as they had faded and gone blurry, so i peeled them off and replaced them with a VW logo, which does make them look like R32's as you say. And yeah they are 16" not 18's The Weitecs are very good and give a firm ride, but its hard to compare them to anything else other than the standard suspension that was on standard (like a boat). I did consider the KW's but for the additional money i didn't think it would be worth it.
  12. Right, passed the MOT on friday no problem. So treated her to a wash and buff up. Took some more photos.
  13. I know its been a long time since the last update, but better late then never :) Finally got the bumper back on and the progress could continue. Next up was a trip to DG Autotech to have the Weitec coilovers fitted and let them check the engine over. Thanks Dave & Graham, as I know they had some problems with my dizzy packing up whilst they were testing. The car was a completely different car afterwards and handled like a dream. Next I fitted the 68mm pulley, new supercharger & PAS belts, and Gwerks chip to suit. I also put some new Bosch W6DP0 spark plugs (the ones specific for the G60) Then after few weekends of driving the clutch started to feel different and was noticeably getting higher until the pedal went to the top and got it stuck in 4th gear and had to drive back 20 miles and navigate through numerous roundabouts and traffic but the C made it back. Thinking the worst I came onto the forum and was advised to check my clutch slave cylinder, I whipped this off to find fluid and the rod separated from the cylinder itself. Now I’m just glad it got sorted for £30 which was probably the best outcome. MOT’s up next on Friday.

    Clutch problem

Yeah i havent touched the incoming feed pipe yet. So definately a problem with the unit itself. I'll get a price from VW shortly.

    Clutch problem

Ah, I've never dealt with Hydrallic systems before, so its not the actual piston. OK :) The remains of the fluid that i guess was left in the pipe was coming out of it when i took it off and the 'rod' was a complete seperate part from the slave cylinder itself. i.e. the green rubber was ripped apart and the rod was stting in the gearbox hole when i removed the cylinder. I'll prob go get one from GSF unless there are any horror stories, i can imagine VW will sting me for something like this.

    Clutch problem

OK good news. Took the slave cylinder out on saturday and the piston was no longer attached to it. So hopefully this will just be a simple job of getting a new slave cylinder and bleeding it. :)

    Clutch problem

Thanks for your reply Pete. I'll take alook at the slave cylinder first then. But i've got a horrible feeling it is the fork lever. The car is a G60 with 101k miles, running near 200bhp.
  18. Over the weekend i noticed my clutch pedal getting higher and higher when finally yesterday i struggled to engage any gear, lukcily managed to get it into 4th and coast home about 20miles without stopping, phew. Now i done some research on the forum and there is alot about potential cylinder failures. There is still some travel left in the pedal (1-2inches) but not enough to get a gear. When the engine is off and i press the clutch there is a new clicking noise in the gearbox???? I've also read about bending of the fork lever inside the box. :? Where should i start? can i literally take out the 2 bolts holding the slave cylinder on with the system still pressurised and see there is any leak? I don't believe the fluid level has gone down either. Help.
  19. Ah never thought of that, i'll give that ago at the weekend. Cheers
  20. HELP - anyone? G-Werks have suggested using a workshop gun, i dont have access to one of these. and again to re-fit it :confused4: Surely many a people have done this in their garages with basic tools?
  21. OK, have only just got round to looking at doing this. The damper came off pretty straight forward, looks like its gonna be a pain to get back on though. Probably a stupid question, but how do i get the bolt out of the centre of the pulley without the pulley spinning? :? Thanks
  22. From GSF they come out at over £50 for a set of 4 delivered and inc vat. I've got 16 of these brand new (so 4 sets) that i'll be putting up for sale shortly. Probably do them for £40 or so, delivered.
  23. I'm going to attempt to fit a 68mm pulley at the weekend. I've had a search but cannot find any guide or anything to do with the subject. I suppose it will all become evident when getting down to it, but how do i de-tension the tensioner damper to get it off the top bolt (once the nut is off)? How tight does the bolt need to be when re-attaching the pulley? Is there anything else that i really need to know? I have got the shorter belt and already fitted the chip in the ecu ready to go on. Thanks in advance. Luke
  24. For these items i wouldn't go for anything other than genuine VW items. think my rocker cover gasket was £8/10
