Rodders has been known to speak the trust! I would check the insurance first, before commiting to a sale, as you don't wanna have a car you can't drive sat around. that does sound like a bargain you got there Rodders, and I agree, the one in the for sale section would be worth travelling for

haha, well that all depends on the personality of that particular car ;) i've owned mine for 5 years, and have had very little go wrong with him mechanically wise. A couple of coolant hoses, HT leads, nothing major. /touch wood (no, don't be rude!) Make sure when they start the car its from cold, and you'll hear the chains if they are on their way out. Read the buyers guide on here (clicky). running costs petrol wise, depending on roads, usually around 30mpg, then monster tax for the engine size :)

Timing Chains. not a bad dealer price though, I assume the condition is good? have a look on here for similar models/prices. mines done 135k and the chains are fine
  6. mines about a 2 mile round trip ;)
  7. sad news matey :( as said previously though, as long as no one was hurt :) goodluck with sorting it out mate
  8. until I can get a pic, here's my Tony Hart stylee pic of the Key:
  9. I have the same problem at the mo. supposed to be sending my wheels off to be refurbed this week, but can't find the key :( Mine are a different shape/style to the ones pictured above (i'll get a pic asap) and when I was a tyre centre the guy had a look, and said the only way he could think to remove my type was to get a key fabricated (uber money no doubt), the welding sounds like an option, but i'll get a pic up and see what you guys think
  10. yeah, agreed, start on a fine grit, as I assume the scratches are just cosmetic. You can always go to a rougher paper if this doesn't work, and don't forget/avoid the sanding in between layers
  11. sand them down and then relacquer. I haven't seen the extent of the scratches, but if they are deep, just sand them down further, re apply some tint, sand, reapply, then a few coats of lacquer (sanding between) will bring them up to new 8)
  12. looks mint 8) definately worthy of the calendar imo :)
  13. welcome mate :D have fun on the forum
  14. it's not worth reusing the bolts imo, for the price you pay, and the price it could cost you. I certainly wouldn't
  15. I thought the kit for a VR was about half that! seems a crazy price, but then it is VW. was talking to a woman in the garage the other day about VW, and she had just paid £20 for a new headlight bulb!
  16. I work for a Automotive research company, and whenever other guys come to our office from within the company they always comment about the amazing range and quality of cars parked in our car park (4 companies share the same courtyard). I had this little beaut parked up next to my C last friday :) it looked like new, truely amazing! sorry about the pic quality, mobilephone cameras and winter evenings don't mix :(
  17. its a very good vid, not sure about the random zooming on on some of the guys though
