  1. cool, so if i buy some (such as these): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-GTI-MK3-N ... _500wt_939 i'll be able to swap them straight over for the ones on my g60 without the need for an other components/adapters? sorry for the perhaps excessively blatant/simple questions but i'm a bit of a newbie
  2. thanks for that! so just to clarify its mk3 gti for the front, and is it standard/any golf mk3 with rear discs for the rear?
  3. will they fit with existing size brake pads/discs? just bought a new set and would rather not have to by another one!
  4. Hi there, one of the rear callipers (and possibly more on the front) has seized on my g60. what cars could be used from scrapyards as an alternative? i've heard rear mk4 golf callipers fit a vr6 would this also fit a g60? and what about the front? thanks!
  5. its a J reg, however it does have a bulgy bonnet etc, and right hand drive (as later ones are described)
  6. hi guys, half way through my g60 restoration project - just wondering if anyone could come up with a rough valuation for this car for me when done. i'm guessing about £3k-ish (maybe a little more?) but wanted verification. please note specs below are what it will be when i'm done (electrics/interior tidying currently in progress) -1992 corrado g60, dark metallic blue -76,000 miles -full service history, including supercharger rebuild (am getting done as soon as on the road, but for valuation assume just been done) -good condition inside and out -totally unmodified, with original BBS 15" alloys & factory blaupunkt stereo (will add in alpine/nakamichi setup but will retain factory unit for inclusion in sale) -almost no rust whatsoever -all electrics working -paint in very good order overall condition, with a few stone chips on bonnet form motorway miles. very minor curbing on alloys but for its age they are in extremely good condition -never been crashed/repaired, broken into or anything like that thoughts? i'l tell you what i paid for it after....
  7. thanks guys. will consider purchasing that part mate. would it fail an MOT?
  8. been looking at items such as: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-CORRAD ... 2320wt_982 as opposed to an aftermarket induction kit (i've got a totally unmodified g60 and i'd like to try and keep it like that) would i notice any difference by using one of the k&n/pipercross air filters that replace the standard filters in my air box? waste of money or worthwhile investment? the air filter needs changing anyway by the way
  9. While doing the oil filter last night I discovered a really rusty component/panel just behind the front bumper. I have no idea what it's for, it looks like it's just a panel, although it does seem to loosely support a couple of rods. As you can tell I am not a mechanic so excuse my terminology. It's the only rusty thing on the whole car. Any ideas what it is? Cheap to replace? Problem at all? (photo attached)
  10. is it not the case though that that thread is for snapped leads? my lead is fine its the small copper(?) plate that links the handle and the cable together that's snapped
  11. nope, stripped all the carpets out and there's quite literally not a single spot of rust. the car has acted like a sink for 6 years (there was an inch of water under the carpets) and it's immaculate. its unbelievable how well VW build some things.
  12. just been working on my new corrado today and the little metal clip between the bonnet release handle and the cable snapped (see pic) can't open the bloody bonnet or anything. tried holding the cable sleeve and pulling on the cable with pliers but it's far too stiff any suggestions?
  13. well i took the plunge 1991 corrado g60 76k on the clock, FSH not been run in 6 years, but weve got it going as you can see it comes with some foliage.... shall post before/after pics when shes done! and the price....... £535!
  14. hi, saw this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/S1-VW-CORRADO-GOL ... 190wt_1165 it claims to be better for the charger, power etc etc are these just marketing lies or would this genuinely benefit the car? (and make the ksssshhhhh noise)?
  15. cool thnks, was a bit worried about the temp as its quite high but seems g60s run like that anyway!
  16. thanks mate, anyone know what it should be with stock fittings?
  17. what is the normal g60 oil temp you would expect whilst left to idle? (as in if you left it idling how high should it get before it levels off?)
  18. gi guys, looking into buying an xenon/HID kit off ebay (one of the 90 quid ones) question is, i've heard that you need self-levelling lights if using xenons, is this true? what would i need to do to legally have xenon lights fitted in my corrado?
  19. what are the standard speaker sizes used in a corrado (g60 if it varies) e.g. front door/dashboard/rear etc?
