  1. Mine was like this, stank of wet dog and dead things. ripped it all out, scrubbed away until it stank no more and replaced with normal carpet underlay and a thick bit of rubber. Hopefully it works the same. If anything a £2.50 sq/m bit of underlay is worth a go, not gonna break the bank at that price :D
  2. I've had a couple windscreen replacements on my old 306 and Golf They were all done to a very professional and high standard by rac auto windscreens, however, i have recently had to have the dash out of my rado, after finding out there was about a 3 inch gap on the bottom of the windscreen where were was just no sealing done at all. When it rained a wonderful amount of water soaked the sound proofing foamy stuff in the dash to buggery! Though a healthy amount of polyureathane sealant later (I think) it is completely leak free... Perhaps it's just a grudge windscreen companies have against Corrados? Or they just don't know how to fit them to such a peculiar car ;D hah.
  3. I've just had to install XP on dual boot for VAG-COM only purposes :D seems the easiest way to me, aside from the fact my install was lacking the RAID drivers for my laptop and took me about 11 hours to find and configure the right ones. Pain in the aasssssssss etc~ but, y'know, if it's the only way :D
  4. Yeah I was interested in that but I am working on the 6th! Sucks. Ah well, next time perhaps. And lol, a bit close to Hayle! I went down there before I went to Port Talbot for my Rado to look at one there but it was in absolute awful condition, a weeks worth of welding needed underneath to close the rusty holes, and that's before touching anything else that didn't work hah, sorry to the owner if he is on here :D (It's not too far though, quite a nice drive really) Have fun!
  5. I reckon he's probably the one i saw them on? The ebay chap?[/quote:2ugzewnn] Yep thats the chap, but he's based about 5 minutes from where i work so i collect anything i buy from him![/quote:2ugzewnn] Oh cool I didn't notice you're in Cornwall too, nice one. Yeah he's in Truro or something isn't he? Sells some nice things on his ebay shop
  6. I reckon he's probably the one i saw them on? The ebay chap?
  7. As far as I am aware they are obsolete now, I've seen a couple pop up on ebay for about £120ish. But i'm sure you could probably find them somewhere else at a better price. Scrappies perhaps?
  8. Sorry to hijack your thread! (But your previous question helps me too :) ) I want to do this conversion before I get it back on the road, does it just LITERALLY swap straight over, as in timing etc is all the same or does it have to be modified or put out a little bit? Cheers!
  9. I took mine off, and a few odd patches of lacquer and paint came off, but was slightly rusty underneath so must have been like it for a while, and there is also now a lip where the o/s door had been resprayed with them on. So just be careful, but I prefer the look of it and mine needs some parking dents sorted and various paintwork so it's no big deal to sort it out. Otherwise if you're afraid of damaging the paint/don't want to have to repair it, perhaps give it more careful consideration
  10. I sealed mine with rtv silicone, does the job nicely
  11. Yeah, It'd be a bit too coincidental in my mind ._. Though I do hope it is actually nothing serious and/or it is cheap for you to repair :D Best of luck.
  12. Emailed them and they said they wouldn't be able to produce it in MPH unless we were to order a minimum of 15 sets. So if anyone were to do a group buy that's the only way
  13. Ooh I think I like the look of these more than the DDI ones. But what about the needle illumination? Definitely another one to consider, when money/time permits. I'm currently still tracking down them water leaks. Also; are they available in MPH as opposed to KMH? I don't like to complicate things further ;D
  14. Hey. I have some pretty bad water leaking in the front too, I have taken the ECU out but I do not see said hole? I have a lot of what looks like moulded plastic over the metal here though, most of it has cracked and is peeling off. I've resealed the foliage cover with rtv silicone and hope that seals it (That was leaking too) but I am curious as to this ECU one. Could you give me more details as to where this hole is? Cheers!
  15. Isn't this that carbon canister chap? Something to do with petrol vapour and emissions? I dunno, don't quote me on it, I'll have a look on google. :D
  16. This is at the beginning of the installer, else it wont install anywhere if it cant find the drives... Finally got it working at 11:50pm with some dodgy drivers that weren't meant to work! shocking.
  17. Yeah this is what my daddy was telling me. Still, I'll eventually get vag-com on it and find out what. If I can ever install XP on my laptop to get it running! I've tried everything on Windows 7 and it's a complete pain in the arse! And I can't install XP because it doesn't recognise my sata drive, and no drivers i download work with it, and oh god I think I will just kill myself
  18. Nope, currently sorn'd still :) But at least it's less likely to be a major fault if it doesn't come on at ignition time
  19. Hah. Many thanks Shaun, the light arrived this morning. Funny thing is, i started it up, and the light went out. All is well, it would seem. So I don't understand why it would have been removed in the first place Unless it's an intermittent fault while driving etc. oh well, only time will tell and all that. :D
  20. Yeah, well it wont be on the road till at least march anyway so there's no urgency in getting this cable from china I've just got the vag-com cable itself though so i have until then to get that working :D
  21. Ooh I'll have a look. Though living in Cornwall, I doubt many people even have running water let alone vag-com :D
  22. Still, surely it just means our corrados will be worth more in the future
  23. What you descibed sounds ok to me, maybe its me not being very good at explaining things. Best thing you can do mate tbh is get VAGCOM plugged into it. That will settle your mind. Or before that, get that light plugged in, if it turns on when you switch the engine on and it goes off again. Then that will be great! Shaun - cheers for that. I realised the dash light fascia was different between late and early. I didnt realise there were 3 different plugs![/quote:3r2as0ad] Thanks for your glimmer of hope Will have to wait and see what Shauns light does and hopefully it turns off! I just noticed I ordered them vag-com leads from china so 2 weeks on them...
  24. I am assuming the one I bought off you Shaun will fit my plug
