ive been reading loads of old threats and have just extended my list of things that could be the problem steering was really loose and sloppy on my rado when i bought it so i replaced the 2 front wishbones with lower ball joints and topmounts it rides better over bumps in the sense that theses no banging or knocking sensation , but i seem to have brought bigger problem(s) to light ... on the passangers side when i ride over bumps the steering feels VERY loose (i can feel free play from somthing on that side ) under hard accelaration and hard braking it is almost dangarous how much the car wanders over the road (again theres a delay in the stering corection because of free play ) ment to say that on cold mornings (everyday now lol ) the steering sticks powersteering problem ? and there a creeking noise normaly when im close ( or on ) full lock (both ways ) part of the problem ? iv tryed play in wheel bearings - fine trackrod ends - fine regards - jack

thanks for the replies guys :) will take them on board when i make my mind up 8) am i right in saying that a car made with PAS that is not working , will be harder to steer than a car with a manual rack ? cheers - jack

lol , i know what your thinking but it's only at stand still that it's hard(er) but on the move it feels so much better ( in my opinion that is :) )

just wondering if i could put a non PAS rack in my rado from a seat ( i know folks on here that use the seat PAS rack ) to be honest i really liked the feel from both of my 205 gti's(without PAS) would mean i could ditch all the other heavey , leaky , power sapping parts that are required to run ...... any thoughts ? ment to add mines is a 36 spline regards - jack

hey as above im a complete noob to vw's (was once a pug a honda man :cuckoo: lol ) and landed myself a 1990 corrado (just for a change) bt it seems ive jumped in a the deep end .... the car was onc a 1800 16v but in the past somone has put a 2000cc 16v in there ......NOW me beeing a noob i have no idea about anything lol 1/ where do i find engine/gearbox numbers ? 2/ are all golf , corrado 16v parts able to be interchanged (i ask this because i had to swap the starter motor out and it had a 1800 starter on it )? and also im looking to put a 4 branch manifold and full exaust system on it where could a get one fo a half decent price ?(and will it be a prob due to the engine swap ?) thanks to all replies jack :)
