when i say mapped i mean the carbs will be tuned and ignition mapped ( running O/E ECU for ignition)

asking on behalf of a freind hes totaly rebuild his 9a bottom end to (OE spec) head has been ported and polished ( nothing to extream middle of the road type thing) and stuck newman 288 cams in there and is also doing a bike carb conversion ( r1's i think ) 8) now and only now has he wondered whether or not this will work on standard bottom end ? or will he need to raise the C/R ? :shrug: i know only the dyno will really be able to tell but do you think this setup could breach the 200 bhp mark ? :shrug: ( will be mapped at bedrock scotland)

nothing wrong with after marcket filters mate ..... just stick to known makes and you will be fine :D

as above what do i need to convert my double water pump pulley to single set up on my 16v ? ( VW told me the double pulley has now been discond and is no longer avalable :( ) part numbrs would be a huge help to thanks - jack

have the same problem with starting my 16v takes 4-5 turns before firing ....and untill recantly it was running fine when going so dont beleave it to be linked ......got to love the old rados eh ? :cuckoo:

yeh i heir what your saying about the wiring but i think thats going to be a long strung out job ....car has had 9 owners and i think everyone of them has cut spliced and taped up apart of the wiring ..... :( how do i reset my fuel mixture ? as this sounds promasing

anyone .....? power problem seems to be worse than first thought ....was reeding 2-3 MPG today around town (and that was me trying to drive eco) :brickwall: :brickwall: dont have a clue whats going on here

yeh timming is ok is there supposed to be a earth strap going to that ECU ? or does it earth through the loom ?

hey all after fitting and new heater matrix that turned out to be a duff and nearly setting the car on fire due to bodged up wiring i seem to have made another problem .... MPG never goes above 23 and car seems to be a little under powerd now ( seems to have made the 16v low rev lack of power worse ,and dont seem quite right at the top end either) idle seems to be alittle lumpy too . the car isnt miss firing at any point tho :brickwall: i know there is a bad earth to the small ecu under the scuttle panel that will be getting addressed at the weekend will this be the problem ? also the car was part wired through an old alarm/imobiliser witch iv bypassed (work in proggres ) and curantly have all the ignition wires wired through a single heavey ON/OFF switch (with the fuel pump hard wired to run all the time when ON ) could this be affecting anything ? regards - jack

i agree with that but how long untill them there selfs rip into there good old rado .....one day they will be few and far between OR fewer and further between than today :(

why are so many rados being broken up for spares ? :confused4: some dont even seem to have that much wrong with them , is it because there so rare or .....? makes me sad i hate when a good car goes to waste :(

mine acts like a snow plough :) lol low front end + 90mm splitter = :epicfail: unless your behind me then you got a nice clear road lol im just glad my splitter if buggerd already would be utter gutted if it was new

im based in falkirk (central scotland ) yeh the car has a g-max damper spring kit on it , and both front and rear springs have 40 on them ( im assuming that means 40 mm drop ?) and the front has 15mm lowering spring caps so should now have a 55mm drop :shrug: very very strange .......im hoping someone can help i love the car in alot of ways but it's also turned out to be abit of a pig :( , never mind im sure it will come good ......i hope lol

also ment to ask - the car is only ment to be lowerd 40mm but i think it looks alot lower ( i did put 15mm lowering spring caps on the front when i did the topmounts but did not have the desired affect ) could be rear beam bushes f-ed ?
