Corrado VR6 Storm - original unmolested example Regretfully, I?m putting my Corrado VR6 storm up for sale. After carefully weighing up my current situation, where I have just moved into my first house with tons do do on it, and the fact me and my girlfriend have recently had a baby, it means that it?s unlikely I will have the time or money to get the car back on the road this year. It?s already been off the road, parked up on the driveway for over a year now. It used to be my daily driver to work, but after a rather unfortunate run of luck with little problems on the car, culminating in the car breaking down on me on my way to work one morning, I finally decided to myself I?d buy another car. The RAC towed me home, and I bought something else?..the idea was that when I had some more money and time, I would come back to it and sort it out, but it just never really materialized. Anyhow the issue turned out to be the fuel pump, which has now been sorted out, so the car runs again, but there?s still a fair few things that need sorting out and I don?t have the time or money to sort out, so I've decided it?s for the best to let someone else have a go. I took the car out for a ?cheeky? whizz round the block just before Christmas to see how it, was, and although it?s driving again there?s a few things that need sorting. Things that spring to mind are: 1. Think the brakes may have seized up a bit?.to be fair the car hasn't been driven for a year, so probably a fairly straightforward job. 2. Slow puncture on the front passenger side 3. Drivers door handle has seized up. Can?t open it from the outside. Need to open passenger door and lean over to open drivers door from the inside. This is a common issue, so probably a new door handle/mech would sort this out fairly easily. 4. Horizontal rubber guard on side of car is dangling off?..Super-gluing it back on would probably sort it out. 5. Various rust spots around the arches, various scratches dinks, scuffs on most panels 6. MOT has expired 7. Crack on windscreen on passenger side (not in drivers view, but still needs sorting at some point) Now for the good points?. It?s an original, unmolested VR6 Storm, with the original BBS alloys. The interior leather is good, although there is obviously wear to the driver?s seat and bolsters, there?s a whole folders worth of history. Many common corrado faults have already been addressed over the past 3-4 years, with receipts to show. It?s done 160k but I don?t think that?s too bad for the age of the car. I?d class it as a project fixer-upper?..someone with the time and patience good bring this back to its former glory. The picture below is of when I was last using it as a daily driver, but if someone is genuinely interested I can take the protective cover off the car and take some more photo?s. If you make me a decent offer you can have it, but I?m not going to just let it go for silly money. If I don?t get the right offer, I?ll forget about it for another year, and maybe next year if my circumstances change, I?ll have a go at sorting it out myself. If you've never driven a corrado VR6 before, you need to experience it. I?m no car expert, but have had a go in quite a few performance cars over the years, and I can honestly say that in terms of sheer driving fun and putting a smile on my face, it?s still my second favourite car to drive (the first being a Porsche 911 GT3!) and it?s much more fun than my current car (CLK55) so like I say, I?m not just going to give it away. I?ve listed the price as ?9999 just to get peoples attention! Please message me to discuss a price?..it was either that or ?1?..and I thought that was a bad idea in case someone decided to make a payment of ?1 to me, then took me to court on the basis of me advertising it for this price! :) Will consider any sensible offers?.remember that although the car drives, the MOT has now expired, so you would need to arrange how best to take it away. Am going to get my storm up and running again for the summer. It's been SORN'd for over a year now, so think it's time to bring it back to life. Anyways, I don't want to spend a lot on it (am skint anyways!) but need to get one of the original BBS alloys repaired as the tyre keeps going flat, and the guy who fitted the last tyre told me it would keep happening because of the alloy itself, so presumably need it re-shaped to fit the tyre better? Like I say, I don't want to spend a lot.....if I had the money I'd have all four alloys refurbed, but just want to get the car back to a usable state, so only want the one wheel sorted. Anyone recommend someone cheap in the London/Essex area?

yeah spoke to a few people at work about it as well.....everyone is saying not to go knocking on his door guns blazing as it will only escalate the situation. Our living situation is complicated. She lives in Northolt Middlesex and I live in Essex with the grandparents....I used to rent a flat, but they offered to let me stay with them for a year so that I could save for a deposit to buy somewhere... If needs be I can move in with the GF, but that's not ideal as I work in Essex, which would mean me doing an M25 round-trip to work every day which is not fun. She can't move in with me as she has two cats and my grandparents have a big dog that hates cats, and there's no way she'd give them up which is fair enough, plus the petrol costs of doing an M25 round-trip 5 days a week would also add up very quickly, so as of now I've just been staying at hers at weekends and going to work from my grandparents house (5 minute drive) during the weekdays. I have a bit of a deposit, and am just waiting for the details of this new government "help-to-buy" scheme that's launching on Monday, which would mean I could start looking for somewhere for us straight away...although even if I find somewhere tomorrow, I know it takes a couple of months to get everything sorted out. I think I'll just sit and wait patiently until she moves out....they do say revenge is a dish best served cold! Have calmed down a bit now....but now I'm gonna get fired up again as soon as I get to hers tomorrow evening and see that on her door!

hi guys.....looking for some advice and opinions, on how to deal with a situation. my girlfriend called phoned me last night to say she was scared. Basically she lives on her own, and has a scumbag next-door-neighbor. He's an unemployed druggie in his late 20's, who sits in his flat getting stoned with all his other scumbag mates. Anyway last night he was playing loud music till 1am, so my girlfriend called the council to report the noise. So the council officers turned up and apparantly the guy was shouting abouse at them and this guy was shouting out loud so that the entire estate could hear him, "who the f$$k complained?!! Tell me who f%$^%ing complained!!!", that's when she called me and said there's all noise and commotion outside. I told her to ignore it and get some sleep. I said he's probably just drunk and will sleep it off. Anyway she's just emailed me and said someone (obviously him or one of his mates) has scratched the word "grass" into her front door.......to say I am fuming about it is an understatement!! I stay at hers at weekends, so I said to he I'll knock on his door when I go down there tomorrow, but she's asking me not to as she said it could make things worse, especially as I'm not there every night, plus he's one of those guys who's already been in and out of prison, never had a job, has nothing to lose, etc, so maybe it wouldn't be a good idea? I dunno, I just don't know the best way to approach it.....I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "knock on his door, when he opens it just punch him straight in the face and kick his head in!", but then I could get arrested, plus him and his mates obviously know where she lives (right next door).......really not sure what to do. We're looking to get a place together in January, so maybe I'll just bide my time and wait till she's out of there? What would you do? Bearing in mind that threats of calling the police wouldn't bother him in the slightest.... Maybe I should just paint "C$%T" in big letters on his door, see how he likes it!!

well whadya know! - I kept meaning to get round to doing something with this......anyways I decided I'd just put the pump back in for now.....after I did I thought to myself, "let me just try it.....you never know!"........... so fired it up and next thing I know it's running again! Not quite a fairytale ending though....... drove it round the block a couple of times, and it felt like every now and then it was losing power......especially when I was downshifting round a corner in 2nd, and putting my foot down......felt like it was taking an age to get going. So dies it sound like a knackered fuel pump then? I suppose I need to buy a pressure gauge now to see if the pressure from the pump is right! -

also.... I guess it would make sense to see if the actual plug on the fuel pump is sending the signal to actual make the pump work in the first place.....I'm guessing I would have to use a multi-meter? never used one in my life....presumably they are pretty simple to use? anyone got a "how to test plugs on a corrado using a multimeter for dummies" link? :-) -

Was that a one-off private seller or someone selling them? If so do you have a link? Spoke to a guy at work who said that I should test it by putting it back in the tank, running a bit of pipe off the outlet feed of the pump into a bucket, then priming the engine to see what kind of pressure comes out. The guy knows a fair bit about cars, but he's never had a corrado before.....does this sound like a good way of testing the pump to see if it works? -

So I finally got round to getting the fuel pump out of the corrado this weekend! - It was a bugger to get out! That rotating screw cap thing at the top of the unit just wouldn't twist for love nor money. I eventually managed to loosen it by positioning a piece of wood against one of the plastic lips around the top of it, and hammered it until it started moving! Anyhow, got it out and it is the VDO...... found a cheapo pump on ebay, but it seems to have conflicting information as far as compatibility is concerned. can anyone confirm this will definitely 100% be the right pump for a '95 VR6? (think the later models need to be VDO?) have just gone and bought a W209 CLK55 myself today. I love the corrado, but was getting fed up spending my weekends fixing it all the time. my storm is currently sitting on the drive with what I think is a broken fuel pump. It's now the 6-7th time in the last 6 months it's been off the road, and I just had the hump with it, so went out and bought the CLK. First impressions.....comfy, very quick, solid, looks good......but no-where near as fun to drive as my corrado! My insurance has just gone up another £450 quid! Truth be told I bought it on impulse......and now I'm looking into them on the MB forums, the future service and running costs scare me a bit! Think I'll keep it for 3-4 months then sell it, and go back to the rado.

changed the crank sensor and the cam sensor and the fuel filter and won't start at all. Got the RAC to pop out and the guy thinks it's the fuel filter. Looks like I will have to search the threads on how to sort this one out! anyone got a cheap fuel pump going? if not, anyone know the part number? (also a link to a fuel pump swap guide would be nice!) -

The whole "what cars would you have if money was no object" threads have been done to death, with everyone wanting a veyron or a Maclaren F1.........but after seeing the young fella out of the boyband in his MK1 Ford Capri, it got me thinking about what classic's would be top of my wish list. spent an hour swapping my fuel filter last night! Probably my own fault as I was being lazy and couldn't be bothered to jack the car up so did it reaching my arms underneath the car instead. Anyhow, on the actual fuel filter casing, underneath the two 17mm nuts, there is a piece of folded-over metal that sits inside the ends of the casing. Presumably it was put there to give added strength to the casing.....anyways I was prying away at the bloody thing for over 20 minutes, and couldn't figure out how to get the casing off. In the end I just bent back the folded-metal part, but now one of them has snapped. Doesn't matter too much, I can't see the casing going anywhere with the 17mm nuts back on.....but out of curioisty, is there a method for getting those pesky things off?

Am getting ready to swap out my crankshaft sensor and cam sensor tonight or tomorrow. Struggling to see how to do this from the bentley manual. Does anyone have a howto guide to do this, or point me to the right pages of the bentley manual? At the moment I don't even know 100% where the sensors are! Am guessing they are somewhere near the coil pack, but this is just a guess. cheers :-) -
turned out to be the rubber plug that holds the bonnet cable in place under the bonnet on the drivers side! The water was running through the hole and down behind the fuse box! All sorted.

I was thinking along the same lines about the MAF.... surely it would at least run if the MAF was faulty (albeit badly)....or would a faulty MAF cause a complete non-starter? Will change the fuel filter tomorrow....if it makes no difference then I'll have the crank sensor off you....how much were you thinking? -

I got VAGCOM on it last night and it gave me this code: 1 Fault Found: 00513 - Engine Speed Sensor (G28) 03-00 - No Signal I did start up the engine first, as I read elsewhere that you get this code every time, if the car isn't started..... anyhow the car started up.....soulded like it was over-revving on idle.....then started chugg for a few seconds, before it died completely. I cleared the code so that I could make 100% sure it was this......but after that the car won't start at all :-( Looking at the codes it says its an engine speed sensor fault. Is this the same thing as the crank sensor? Any suggestions on where it is? and how I get to it? I'm looking at the bentley manual and can't find any reference to it in the crankshaft section (13.27) but would assume its somewhere near the coilpack? Car started stuttering on me on the way to work this morning. Even more annoying I had a young kid in a fiesta ST right on my arse, and couldn't pull away because of the problems! Deosn't seem to matter what gear its in how how many reves I give it.....its just jumps about like a bucking bronco! Power comes on for a few seconds, then a loss of power.....and the pattern repeats every 3-4 seconds. Will have to dig out my ODB reader and try and get some codes on it tonight.... anyone got any ideas of the likely culprits? MAF? Throttle Body? Fuel Filter? Plugs? bloody car!
