unfortunately I don't have any scrappies near by (as far as I know? I live in central london SE16) and even if there was one, there's no guarantee there will be any corrado's in there, or that the screws haven't already been pillaged from it! does anyone know if these are the right size? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/black-self-tapper-10-x-3-4-mudflaps-posi-screws-tapping_W0QQitemZ290373975103QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item439ba33c3f or these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STAINLESS-A4-POZI-PAN-SELF-TAPPING-SCREW-KIT-CAR-PACK_W0QQitemZ150304020251QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item22fed1571b thanks

Guys, can we add the number plates of all of these cars (as TEXT) into the actual posting. Would be great to be able to type in a plate you spot on the roads, then immediately determine who is the owner with a number plate lookup :) Also, great for people looking to buy a Rado.....they can see if the owner is a forum member and how many posts they've made. In theory it could add value to your car (I know that personally I'd be prepared to pay more if I typed in a number plate on here, and found the car in the members gallery and saw the owner had made hundreds of posts!) Just a thought

...hmm .... does that mean I can replace my screen-vent bowden cable without having to take out the whol dash? If so, can anyone tell me which screws I need to get to to get to the other end of the bowden cable? cheers

can anyone tell me the correct screws I need for the following: 1. Steering lower cowling (2x screws either side + 1 screw in the middle) 2. Drivers parcel shelf 3. Fusebox shelf/cover 4. passenger shelf The reason I'm asking is because the previous owner of my car must've taken alot of bits off and replaced screws as I can't seem to find any two screws alike, so don't know which ones are the correct ones! Would like it so all the correct screws are in the correct places. If anyone could tell me the sizes that would be great (and you get bonus points if you know of a good website to order them! :D ) thanks

Ouch!! think this might have to wait a bit in that case.

I need to have my fan belt replaced, and I may as well get the chain done as well (seems ok, but would be nice to get it done for peace of mind seeing as my car's done 145k) ...... whats a fair price for the work?
-
hahahaha.....after going back out to "accurately" measure, I can confirm its 9 inches long and 5 inches thick :norty:
-
I did more than that in my corsa last year alone!

blimey, must be worth a fortune! 8)

...not sure if I should've put this in the general chat section? :?

Just wondered who has the highest mileage and lowest mileage corrado on this forum. I'm guessing anyone over 50k or anyone under 250k need not apply :)

Just noticed a loose bit near my battery when I popped the bonnet. It's cylindrical shaped and has some cables attached to it. Will take a picture later if necessary, but from what I recall its about 6-8 inches long and 2-3 inches in diameter, and is hanging loose between the battery and the front headlight. Anyone know what it is?

ordered a bulb (well 10 actually!) for the centre console (the bulb behind the middle heater dial). If anyone else needs one, they are R286 capless bulbs. :salute:

no luck with VW direct (they no longer have them) and German Swedish in Brixton don't have any. Found one from here off another thread: http://www.corrado-teile.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p2228_Control-Flap-Cable---New-Style-Interior---Corrado.html about £18 with the postage. Hopefully this will do the trick :)

screen vent fix - according to another thread, I need a defroster/bowden cable part number 536 819 835 (apparantly about £9) Just done a google search for this part, but can't seem to find it. Anyone know a good online website to order one?

anyone had a similar issue who can walk me through the fix? :confused4:

I've got a 95' mystic blue corrado storm so need the black one. thanks anyway though.

yeah it looks like the other end of the cable is heading off somewhere behind the drivers speedo unit..... any ideas anyone? oh and just to make life harder, the cd player above (which I took out for a better view) won't slide back in now for love nor money, even know I'd swear blind there's nothing behind it stopping it! :cuckoo:

cheers, managed to get to the bits behind the heater dials to have a look. I can see that the higher metal wire with the loop at the end is not going over the plastic circular part. (red arrow in pic) However when I pushed it back over it, then turned the dial, it still wouldn't push the metal into the tube (green arrow in pic)....its like theres a blockage in the tube or something...doesn't matter how hard I try to push the wire into the tube, it won't go in :( See pic: http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af166/autobf/Image003.jpg Does this mean I have to take the whole dashboard off to get to it? Anyone fixed this? Is it an easy job??

managed to get a drivers shelf....just need a fuse box cover now. cheers :)

Just made a discovery today......my clutch is feeling a bit "elasticy"....think its on its way out. Anyhow got under the steering wheel to have a look, and realised that quite a lot of bits were exposed! Now this is my first ever Corrado so when I bought it (on a cold dark night) I never even thought to check the area under the steering wheel! anyhow the fuse panel is exposed, and the cables that are connected underneath the steering wheel are also exposed, and I can also see into the centre consol area from the side, so again it looks like there should be a panel there! Hopefully I can source one from a scrappy but if I have to resort to ebay or the parts for sale on here, what is the names of the bits i need? "drivers under steering panel plastic block" ??? :cuckoo: Also my temp light started flashing at me this morning.....getting scared......only had this car for a 3 weeks and already had more issues than my corsavan that I'd been running for 2 years!
-
guys does anyone have an idiots guide or some detailed pictures to open up the centre console? My centre console does not light up (heater dials and ciggie lighter) and also the heater dial doesn't twist to windscreen (heater itself is ok though) any help appreciated!
-
ok maybe she needs looking at then.....it's far from smooth.....It almost feels like I'm sitting in a diesel (slight exageration!)......certainly not like some Beemers I've sat in when running at idle.

had a quick spin around the streets where I live last night, but got to drive it into work this morning. to be honest it doesn't feel quite as quick from say 0-20 as my old mk2 gti16v did (Most likely because the corrado weighs twice as much?)......but once you're up in the 20mph+ area I really noticed how quick she was. When I got off the a13 ond onto the M25 I finally got to see what it could do, and boy does it shift!! found a couple of faults: 1. rain was leaking above the passenger seat....looks like its coming from the windscreeen seal (not the sunroof)...anyone had this problem? Also I'm assuming the centre console where the heater controls are, should be lit up when I put the lights on? They're not at the moment. One other thing, the heater is nice and warm, and works on all 4 settings, but when I twist the knob to the windscreen option, hardly anything comes out....its like its stuck at just heating inside the car?? Also, it does feel a tad "lumpy" on idle rev.....I'm guessing it needs a bit of a tune-up? ...............but apart from that......all's good :-)

FINALLY I get to drive the storm tonight! It's been asleep in the garage for two weeks, but finally got my insurance certificate thorugh this morning, so I can now stick some road tax on her and will go for a spin tonight :-) Bit gutted my main route to work (A13) is now having average speed cams installed (so no little bursts on the way to work! - Although I did hear that they cant' catch you if you change lanes between each set of cameras? could be an urban myth?) Got my eye on a cool number plate for her as well (quite surposed nobody has already bought it - will be quiet till I've bought it) Hopefully she'll live to to my expectations.....I've waited 13 years for this day!! :-)
