  1. What a tool. I was just stopped on the side of the road cos my horn was stuck on. As i was trying to sort it the fuzz rolled up, asked me what i was doing to which i explained, the officer then pissed herself laughing and drove off.
  2. spot on thanks pal, unfortunately i didnt get chance to do it this weekend. i'll holla when i do and undoubtably get stuck
  3. wullie, legend mate im off to vw to get some replacements and will give it a go.
  4. Hi Guy's, Looking to replace my block with another kr originally then i thought of a 2ltr lump instead. Anyone know whatother bits and bobs i will need to swap to accomodate this lump? I know they are similar, just not how similar and what i can and can't use. Dan
  5. Yeah man did both of them, not too bad a job to be fair. Definte improvement of spraying oil on the exhaust manifold :S I know deep down it's going to be stem seals. Expensive job i'm guessing? May be time for 1.8T Swap i've been thinking about!
  6. Yo, I gots blue smoke out of my 16v. Had it since i bought it really. puffs blue smoke if you rev it. Not a constant bellow, just when revved, but it's a lot! I've cleaned the breather system and catch tank and last weekend did the rocker gasket as that was beyond knackered. I thought this may solve it as this was seeping oil into the plugs, so figured it would be burning it off there. Plugs were dripping in oil when i took them out, and for a day it stopped smoking, but now it's started again. Anything else to check before i assume stem seals? Or is it still burning off about 4 months of leaked oil from the gasket?! Oh and i did a compression test on a cold engine and the readings were all bang on! Cheers, Dan
  7. red rado pulling into morrisons in bromsgrove
  8. check me members photos bud, got the same wheels, except 7's all round. What i will say is if you're going to drop it more you will need wider adaptors on the rear. I've got 30mm on the rear and the lockrings and springs rubbed on the tyres. so had to space.
  9. ahh me too :) yeah i've got about an inch left on the fronts. probably will rip the old inner arches out and drop it right down. handling has gone out the window, drives like a bouncey castle
  10. Yea no problem, I'll be there. No rush nice pics matey!
  11. yeah that's what it's all about mate. if you ain't scrubbing and all that. you running with a 90mm splitter? mine's cracked to buggery
  12. Thank's Kempy mate :) Phil, it's all in the angles 45 degree angles up and over everything.
  13. Right, Little update. Not done much to it other than lower it more. Had to fart about with spacers as i could only lower the back so much without the tyres rubbing the coilies and i was sceptical about spacing the wheels while using my porsche adaptors. In the end used 3mm spacers and the tyres clear the struts nicely :) So took some photos in celebration, with a mates golf: Really need to do the rocker gasket next as it's chucking out blue smoke like a looney.
  14. i think i'll be popping down in mine, only in bromsgrove. My mate will tag along in his mk2 golf, only if the coilies go on successfully on friday though, otherwise he's not allowed :)
  15. sodding arsing alarm. Any hints on what to look for? Do i need to just rip the box out and trace the wires back too the indicators?
  16. Right it indicates fine when you have the key turned 2 clicks but as soon as you turn the car over it stops clicking and the lights stay on. Gettin forked off now
  17. Hello, Had an intermittant problem with the drivers side indicators sticking on since i bought the car, happened once every other week or so but past few days they are just stuck on. I have changed the relay, no difference. I also searched this fault and someone mentioned the alarm, but i think mine has been disconnected, a sensor is just loose on the dash with a wire hangin out. Any ideas? Oh also to note, the over heating light flashes 9 times out of 10 when this fault appears. Cheers, Dan
  18. aye tis suitably low. Can't go no lower without spacers, stupid strut rubbing. As soon as i get more money (payday) will be sorting out the audio. Can anyone recommend some decent 13cm door speakers (i only have the crap dash ones) and some decent rears? On a budget.
  19. Cheers Guy's, Wheel's are a bit marmite i've found, i love them but they are hard work! Haha, yeah a guy at work printed me a pic of thunderbird four out and put it on my desk when i bought it, stuck from there!
  20. Well went to a friend of mine's uncle's house, he lives on an army rifle range which means loads of open space and a workshop :D. He's bought an "84 Mazda RX7 for a bit of a brucey bargain and we were up there to get it running and start getting it ready for an mot, as it's been stood for 10 years!
