1. Bugger, missed this. Any chance of another sometime this year?
2. How did you get on with this SeanL?
3. And the exploded diagrams before going into a section. So many times with Vagcat I've been unsure which section contains which parts...
4. Yep that'll work. Pretty sure the Mk2 G60 will use same lines as Corrado. I'll get one of them next week and let you know :thumbleft: Edit/Emailed them to check first haha.
5. I think so. Need the linkage lever pictured above, and the door rod from your other pic. Both must be drivers side :)
6. They are sided - I need part number: 535837184A :thumbleft:
7. Ahhh, No idea mate. Need drivers side one please.
8. Have you got one of these for drivers side too?
9. Used to use Vagcat for years, but PartsBase is a much better website. Easier interface and higher quality images http://www.partsbase.org/ Also more than just VAG group too :)
10. I'll take one please. What are the clips for?
11. I'll have to double check when fans kick in - but it was a slightly different question I was asking. What I meant was - on modern cars they get upto temp and sit rock solid in the middle of the gauge (whatever the temp is within a certain window) then only fluctuate if there is a problem. Is the Corrado different in that it indicates an actual temp at all times, meaning it goes over halfway before fans bring it back down? I think you've answered that now though :) Going back to temperatures, I think the thermostat might be a little lazy. It takes an age to get up to temp. I remember my old VR being quite quick I think? And Suspension - Sean, maybe its because I've been driving more modern stuff for a few years? Its like the lowered springs have reduced the amount the shock can travel feeling like it doesn't absorb bumps at all. I dont know. Think a decent set of springs and shocks is on the cards though - dont fancy coilovers as I see no need. With the speed humps round here its low enough.
12. Hi, Any rust on it at all? Around and under seal?
13. Temperature gauge - Having built a MK2 VR previously, I used the MK3 clocks. The temperature gauge would always stay in the dead centre when up to temp. Where as on the Corrado, it goes up to 110, and rads kick in bringing it back down like my old MK2's used to. Is this correct? Suspension - Currently running what I think are -40mm lowering springs on standard 165k shocks. It feels very crashy and worse than a cheapy set of eBay coilovers does. Can anyone confirm what their ride is like with lowering springs and standard shocks or even coilovers? I'm pretty sure my shocks are past it, but want something to compare to and confirm.
14. Looking for two wings in this colour if someone is breaking one?
15. lilfuzzer, If you have two, I'll take one please as long as Drakelin is sorted.
16. Haha, thanks chaps. Wayne, maybe mate. But thanks again for the second time My Mrs can only drive Auto, and the DSG box is by far and away the best automatic I've ever driven. The Leon had a straight through exhaust and the fart noise it would make when changing gear made me giggle like a little girl haha. Sean, stop apologising! Like I said in the text, I'm over the moon with the car. It needs a few bits, but was priced very well indeed! Look at some on ebay, and they are rotten, high mileage, not looked after and commanding higher prices! Lots to do to it, but at the moment I'm just finding any excuse to drive the thing lol. It really does handle so well when pushed to the limit.
17. I might take you up on this if I can't get one sorted. Surely there must be a part on the shelf that fits, or even a braided version?
18. Ahh, thats probably why then. If you got a good deal, crack on with it. I'd have thought the Recaro's alone are worth close to £1000, which is one of the reasons I was interested (plus the colour) Good luck with it. I'll keep an eye on this thread for progress :)
19. Nice! I enquired about this when I saw it advertised on swapz. The seller got back to me, and then ignored me for weeks as if they had changed their mind. Then finally after me pestering them, they replied to say it was sold. How very strange. Good to see your returning it to former glory - I was at the show and pretty sure I had a ticket for the raffle. It looked immaculate then, which was part of the reason I wanted to buy it!
20. BUMP. 8 years later, did anyone manage to find a brake hose from another car that fits? Mine has a bulge in it, and dread to think what TPS want if its not obsolete.
21. Quick heads up for those that haven't used it. Febi have an online parts catalogue. Sign up for it, then you can input your reg, and find any parts they make for your vehicle. Then google the 5 digit product number to find cheapest supplier (Usually amazon) Febi stuff is OEM, and I rate it highly. Plus 90% of the time, parts are cheaper than ECP or GSF aswell. Well worth a look :)
22. Carrying on, build thread here - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=90678&p=1068457&viewfull=1#post1068457
