Hi Matt Thanks - anywhere in particular? It looked reasonably sound, found a bit of water on one twin wire connection in the cavity where the lights go. Alternatively, would the relay upgrade here fix it? Paul

Hi Please can you give some advice on my defective lighting? I've just changed both headlight units for new ones. The original passenger side reflector was dull so I thought this was the problem with dull lighting on that side. However, whilst the driver's side lights all function perfectly on side, dip and main beam, the passenger side isn't. Passenger side shows side lights fine, dipped beam is less powerful than driver's side and when I put main beam on, no main beam on passenger side and the dipped beam becomes weaker! The only other observation I've got is that both main beam bulbs have a faint glow whilst dip is on. I've refitted the old units without any change, swapped bulbs between the new units so am stumped. Is it a voltage leak on passenger side, bad earth etc? How do I fix this? Thanks in advance Paul

Hi all I have an intermittent fault with my electric windows, in that they pop off the runners every so often. It happens when the window is lowered and someone slams the door shut. It used to be just the driver's side, but has now started on the passenger side too. It's more of an annoyance than a show stopper as it happens every few months, just is a faff to take door card off and refix. Can you advise on the root cause please so I can fix one more time and forget? Thanks in advance Paul

Here are a couple of photos... 1st one is the new tailpipe and rear box - box looks shiny enough but the pipe needs a clean! 2nd photo is of the new front straight thru' front section, will be interested to hear what difference in performance / sound if any only two boxes makes, given I was aiming to stay completely standard! For some reason, I can't get the photo of the "suitcase" to load up.

Update - the work on my car is almost finished, hope to pick it up on Wednesday. For those of you considering a completely standard vr6 VAG exhaust, not good news, the front section with the first box in it is now obsolete, so my garage made up a straight thru' section for me. Will let you know how it is when I get it! Centre and rear boxes look great though :-) Have taken some photos today, will post once I figure out how!

I'm just about to embark on the next batch of work on my car and wanted some advice. I'm having a new VAG exhaust fitted, new BPR and rear brake lines. My original plan was overhaul the brakes this year, suspension next year and the only suspension items that I know have been changed are the rear shocks. However, whilst all the other work is being done, how much would I save if I had the rear axle bushes done now? In other words, how much will they repeat next year if I left it til then? Thanks in advance.

How do the supersprint and Milltek compare to OE? Ideally I want similar noise levels to OE and definitely not chavtastic!

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Oh dear, it is that expensive then. Looks like I may have to consider something subtle but not VAG. I'm catching up on previous owner's non investment as I've also got brake line work, CV boots, rocker cover gasket etc to do. Maybe I can sell my spleen to fund it!

Hi How much should I be paying for a replacement exhaust? My preference is to keep the car standard so really want a VAG exhaust. However, I've been given a quote of £870 for front and mid section replacement inc fitting. This seems excessively steep to me, does anyone else have experience of replacement costs? Or could recommend a supplier? Thanks in advance! Paul

Tom, thx for the reply on wings. What condition is the sunroof lid in? Also do you have the fuse box clips, rear foam pads that stick to the tailgate and rest on parcel shelf. Oh and parcel shelf straps? Thx Paul
