If it's any help, if you can get them to Lyneham or Swindon in Wiltshire then I could bring them to you or drop them off at DG as I pass there often.

If I'm honest I would be half tempted at this. One owner driver from new and a full history according to the add. And it could quite possibly have the talking point of being the highest mileage Storm in the UK. Worth a look most definately...

Like I said in my original post, this is just what I think, but going by the info on Parkers I would not be surprised if this happens. I bought my 330i in March 07, by April 07 the goverment had revised the tax bands and the BMW was going to be £410per year. This had a drastic effect on the price but then with the temporary exemption the panic seemed to die down. Needless to say I got rid of it for the Audi......£155 per year, almost a pleasure to have the road tax reminder. All I would say is hang on and see what happens if it does happen then I personally think it will have quite an effect on used prices. How many people out there who are in the £3k-£8k market are going to want to fork out £400+ to tax their car. It is very surprising how many cars manufactured between 2001-2006 fall into this high band, on the positive side there could be some very cheap donor 4 motions for our Corrado's !!!!!!!

R32 gets the thumbs up from me also..............BUT, I think the Road Tax on these is going to rise sharply this year. Going from it's Co2 rating of 276 g/kg it should be in band 'M' ie £460 per year on todays prices. A paste from the Parkers website which is one of the main reasons I sold my BMW 330i. Please note: All cars registered between March 2001 and March 2006 that produce more than 225g/km CO2, will temporarily join Band K in 2009 and 2010. Thought it is worth a mention as £460 per year is a lot !!!!

Here's my 'Flash' looking like Santa in the snow  Taken last night in North Wales.2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf054 - Copy.JPG[/attachment:3vzrew8q]049 - Copy.JPG[/attachment:3vzrew8q]

A very nice looking car, don't know why but Bora's are a bit of a hidden gem especially a 4 motion. :salute: As you said it is amazing the prices these newer bigger engined cars are going for and they are an absolute bargain. I fear the looming threat of £400+ a year road tax is having a negative effect on prices.....

I wouldn't worry about it, any numpty can drive flat out down a dual carriageway.. Get him on a nice twisty A road. That will sort the men from the boys  -
Great price but this is based on 9 years NCB. I have full NCB but these are all used on my daily car, if I set-up a 2nd car for weekends then I have to start at zero NCB so the price can be up to 7 times the amount you got quoted and thats limited t0 2,000 miles a year and £500 voluntary excess. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!!!! Just to clarify the above quote, for info for other's. The quote from NEED TO INSURE was for the car to be used as a second one, on a Classic policy. They ask now much NCB you have as a guide only, as my NCB is used on my Audi. The thing I found was that there was a few classic policies that would not quote as the car was not garaged. Like I said possibly a good contact for other user's.
-
Try NEED TO INSURE the guys there are very realistic and appreciate a classic car for what it is, As an example they offered me a deal on my Vr on a classic policy £258.40 - 1500 miles a year/ £331.90 - 3000 miles a year. Good contact name is Gary on 01623 720081. Oh yes my quote was based on the car being on driveway 37yrs old, 9+ yrs NCB and 9 points !!!!

:D :D :D :D :D I am a happy man. After a couple of months and 3hours on the telephone to The Post Office I have finally sorted out the insurance. Corrado is in my wife's name and I tried to transfer the insurance from the Golf Gti to the Corrado. The underwriter for the Golf would not insure the Corrado, so I was told that I had to cancel that policy and start a new. Problem with this is that they wanted an £80 cancelation fee and then £700 to insure the Corrado 3rd party :pale: Needless to say had a scan round for a cheper quote and that was with yep you guessed the Post Office :? Spoke to customer advisor and was advised that they could not match the price of £347 Comprehensive as this was for new customer's only but I could cancel my old policy pay the £80 cancellation fee and then take out the new one :mad2: Anyway cut to the chase after about 6 phone calls and approx 3 hrs I have finally persuaded the Post Office that it may be good business practice to keep their exsisting customers happy. So cancellation fee has not been applied and I have got the insurance for the £347  Moral to the story, never give up you stand a chance of getting there in the end. And a :salute: to Steve the third person I spoke to for sorting it out.

Added myself on-(well big bro ozowen did), finally sorted the insurance faff out, so 2 months after buying my first Rado I will soon be getting to drive her. Not many of us in North Wales but I'll have a friendly wave and a flash of lights for any fellow Corrado's.

I though ebay sales are legally binding, so how could the seller refuse the sale?[/quote:deobg3jd] Yeah good question[/quote:deobg3jd] Watched a couple of cars from this dealer over the years, you would be surprised at how many times a car is relisted after it has been 'WON' on a Ebay auction. Could be wrong but I think that is the second time that this Storm has been on Ebay...3rd time lucky maybe !!!
-
After a month or so of ownership I thought it was time to insure my Rado and start using it. Phoned up the Post Office to transfer my insurance from the Golf Gti to the rado. Post Office wanted £700 to insure and I would have to cancel the policy and start afresh with a different underwriter !!!!! Needless to say not happy with the £700 quote so said I would have to try elsewhere.... This is the annoying bit the Golf Gti has an annual premium of £210.79 paid at £17.70 a month (reasonable). To cancel the insurance they are going to charge me £88 or in other words the full f***in premium after 6 months of use.... I am raging, talk about being bent over a table and being royally shafted !!!!!!!!

From one new owner to another, the car looks very good. Just had mine this week (Thurs) :D . Yours does look better though :salute: Hope you have many happy years VRing.
-
Cheers Oz, 11 years and 2 kids, that's why you have the two VR6's. Looks like you will have to find someone else to drive one of your VR's to the shows..............unless I get to drive the VRT

Well bit the bullet and bought myself a VR6. :D After a wee drive from North Wales to North of Newcastle, the car was as good as it: a) LOOKED IN THE ADVERT and b) AN AFFORDABLE WAY INTO VR6 OWNERSHIP. In the middle of house renovation so what money I had to spend on a new kitchen has gone on a Corrado instead. Fortunately I have a very understanding wife as she excepts my wanton desire for cars !!!!!!! Anyway about the car:- Came with a pile of receipts. All chains have been changed within the last year along with a head refurb. Car drove very well on the test drive and took the 4.5 hr drive home with ease. It has obviously had some paintwork on the front, a few minor niggles - sunroof and passenger window not working. Rear aerial is missing and previous, previous owner has removed the rear wiper ??? But heh it's a 'K' reg car with a 159000 on the clock. Don't really have any massive plans, I just plan to enjoy the car. Will not be doing a lot of miles in it so hopefully will last me a good while. Just need to start saving the pennies now or sell one of My Golf's to fund the kitchen !! Good buy or bad buy we will let time tell.
