  1. Hi everyone, Just wondered if any of you have had any experience with compact active subs? If so, how would you integrate it into a system as it already has it's own amp? I'd probably be looking to install a stealth shelf with some 6x9s and upgrade the current standard speakers too...! Any thoughts would be great. Thanks Jamie
  2. Thanks for the pics mate...looks good :) I was thinking I'd have to change the grey plastic middle bits and the pillars to match but yours looks quite nice there! I have red leather seats though, so the black, grey and red might just be a bit too much...hmm!!!
  3. I've done a quick mock as to what mine would look like and attached the pic...what d'you think?
  4. Hi everyone, Just wondered if it's possible to get a debadged early front grill, so the one with quite a few slats? It just occurred to me that it would be quite different. Might look rubbish mind...! Any thoughts? Thanks Jamie
  5. Woah...so just to clear it up...these are your old seats? Did you used to own the car then? Any idea what the colour name is as I've just had a look for leather dye but not knowing the colour is going to make it a real ball ache! Looks like if I do get a different set of seats,I'll have to re-dye all the seats! What seats fit into the Corrado's then? I'd live some Recaro sports if I can but it's a case if getting the right colour I think!!!
  6. I won't be able to get any decent ones for a day or two but here's the sale thread from when I bought it which has some of the seats. http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=315945&pid=2941163&st=0entry2941163 When I was looking at them it seems as though they've actually been spray painted/dyed to the colour anyway! That surprised me a bit!
  7. I was hoping that wouldn't be the case as the seats are really nice and the red leather just looks sick! If I did have to replace them though, how would I go about that and getting the leather to match the rear? I'd imagine it'd be pretty hard without doing a full retrim right? As for pics, what am I best to take photos of? The actual seat or underneath it etc?
  8. Hey My Corrado has got some rather nice seats in it from an Audi (so I'm told). Thing is, they're from a 4 door car where there was no need for the seat to flip forward to gain access to the back seats. It's a bit of a faff having to slide the seat forward and turn the knob thingy every time I need to get into the back so I'm hoping there's a way of nodding the seat? I've had a look at it but can't feel see or feel anything that would be a quick release function or that sort of thing! My only other thought was that there are problem some professionals that deal with interiors and retrains that may be able to sort it? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Jamie
  9. Hi all, I'm thinking about swapping out my grey carpet interior for black but I wouldn't have a clue where to start. Can anyone give me and direction on this please? Thanks Jamie
  10. Oh right...fair enough :) I've seen some that look a lot more like a painted body part rather than the plastic that the standard ones are...?!?! Hmm!!!
  11. Finally managed to get round to doing something to the beast today... Fixed the bonnet - no longer pops up of it's own accord Blackened the front grill and rubber trims - it's knocked years off the look of it...yes yes! Cleaned the engine bay body panel parts - so most of the colour coded engine bay body work is once again colour coded...not black and grimey :) Ordered some centre caps - this'll finish the car off nicely I reckon :D Hooray for Corrado's :D
  12. No idea if I need them, but for the sake of some pennies, best having them just in case. Can I take 6 please, so Jamie Lynch £15...
  13. I had the opposite problem of this, it kept popping up. Today I went about fixing it and in the process I managed to cause it to stay stuck down. I gave the bonnet pop lever a good few quick pulls then wegded the level fully pulled allowing the side that was popping to stay popped. I already has the grill off, and it was the passenger's side that was jammed, don't know if that's the left hand side you're on about? Anyway, if you can get your grill off with the lever fully pulled, there's a small hole in the partition behind the headlamp that allows you to just about poke a finger or two through to the bonnet pop side of the bay. The bonnet catch is attached to a narrow pipe that you can just about feel through that hole. It's really hard to do, but basically you need to push the top of that narrow pipe as far back in the direction of the boot as possible. It's held in by a metal hook, so you might need to pull it out of that to push it in the right direction. It's a really fiddely job to do, but with enough message about I managed to get it to pop. I've attached a photo of the catch from the top, the pipe you see in the hole is what you're trying to manipulate. The bonnet's catch is going to be in that hole obviously but what you're trying to do is move that piping out of the way essentially. That should help you see it in your mind a bit better anyway, I hope :) After that, you're probably going to need to adjust the settings on the bonnet pop system, which is what I had to do, except you're going to want to tighten up the system, not loosen it like I did. Here's a link to the thread I had with what you need to do. If you get stuck, pm me and I'll send some photos through... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=97239 Pulling really sharply and hard on the bonnet lever may be just enough to do it though as the system may be a little stuck... Hope that helps...pm me for any more info on it. Jamie
  14. Hi everyone, Just spotted the VW OEM front euro spoiler which replaces the normal plastic splitter, spotted it on TMTuning.com I've attached a pic of it. Just wondered if anyone else has had one and what they're thoughts are on it? I'm thinking it might catch a little too often to make it worth the purchase, but it'd look a lot nicer than the normal plastic one I reckon!!! Any thoughts? Thanks Jamie
  15. Hey... I managed to sort this :) Your help was great thanks mate. The trumpet thing was already as loose as it could get whilst maintaining some tension. I had to bend the arm a little, and used a match stick to wedge in the bracket that the arm sits in running vertically beside the head lamp...this actually worked, but too well and I couldn't open the bonnet at all...oh no!!! Managed to undo that though and the bending of the arm with a little bit of the trumpet adjustment worked a treat. Just need to get it up to speed on the motorway to make sure it holds whilst at speed and going over bumps. I'm sure it will though as I used to be able to pop the passenger side up without using the bonnet release lever. Gave the engine bay body work a bit of a clean whilst I was at it and blackened the front grill...looks sweeeeeeetttt!!! Thanks again :) Jamie
  16. Hi everyone, I'm thinking about getting a 2 slat grill for my valver but I understand it's not a direct fit right? Is it a fairly simple task to mod it? If so, what's the best way please? Thanks Jamie
  17. Hi mate, Woah...that was a pretty detailed reply thanks mate :) Thank you for that. I'll try and get my head around it and sort it out then! Thanks again. Jamie
  18. Hi everyone, I've got a 1.8 16v on 91 plate. It's had a VR6 bonnet put on it some time in the past and the passenger side of it keeps popping up when I get the car up to about 60/70 on the roads. I keep having to pull over and pop it back down but it's not too long before it happens again. This isn't exactly right obviously. Any ideas on what I could do to keep it settled in as it should? Thanks in advance. Jamie
  19. Right, well I've worked out which type I need now...i've added the pic to the original post!
  20. Has anyone had any joy using Lupo wiper arms? I've heard that these don't require any tinkering but that they're more of a direct fit?
  21. Hi everyone, Where's the best place to get the 2 drivers side 2005 Audi TT wiper arms then and the blades? Is it a drivers side and passengers side blade that is needed, or 2 drivers side? And will that combo fit any Corrado? I've got a 1991 1.8 16v on a H plate. Thanks in advance. Jamie
  22. Ah right...goes to show how dense I am with all this then :-) In that case, are there more than one type of indicator housings? I obviously don't want to get the wrong type as that'll mess things up somewhat! Thanks for your help everyone.
