  1. Thanks for the message Toby. Hope you enjoyed your holiday.
  2. Can you confirm receipt of funds from paypal and let me know when you will post thx
  3. I need a couple of small bits if you still have them : Tailgate hinge covers Internal boot light
  4. I've seen this in the parts section, http://www.the-corrado.net/classifieds.php?do=viewitem&itemid=820 and was wondering if a 93 manifiold would fit my 95 VR6. I don't think it will but I thought I'd make sure.
  5. I got quoted £134 at VW for a normal set ! Dubpowers red leads are cheaper but they're 10mm and I don't think they will fit the channels in the plastics. I was under the impression that 8mm was the largest that would fit.
  6. Started cleaning up the engine bay. First job was to restore all the plastic bits on the top of the engine and it's all starting to look goode.. The existing plug leads spoil it now so I need some new ones before I fit all the plastic back on. Red is my preference and I found these online, http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=10796 Has anyone had experience with them ? Or can recommend a supplier of reds in the standard size.
  7. Summers here and I haven't done much with the Corrado since the Elsecar meet, the SL has come out of hibernation so I've been enjoying some open top cruising. I have decided to start changing a few things as this will never really make it to show standard. The first thing was changing the dials to get a bit of colour into what I consider a boring dash. So, out with the old and in with some nice new dials. I really think they look good. I also changed the lighting from green to red. I've always prefered this since the BMW inroduced it. Unfortunately the photo's I've tried to take don't show the true colour. I still can't believe how easy it is to do though. New alloys were put on for Elsecar, I decided to stay with 15" wheels which meant I had a choice of ...errrrrm 1. Good job I actually liked them :) Next thing on the list to do is tidy up the engine bay so I can actually raise the bonnet at meetings without being embarrased. After having talked to Kip at elsecar I'm sure he'l be shaking his head in despair at whats been done lol.
  8. My first show and although I had to leave early I had a great day out. It was a bit embarrasing having to park next to Tony's beautiful silver VR6 but I was just pleased to get my project car there at all :) The cars in the show and shine were fantastic and the best none corrado in my eyes were a couple of lovely mk2 Golfs. Met some nice people and I look forward to seeing you all again Congrats to Kip for winning, that car of yours is magnificent.
  9. All sorted out now and me and the car will be there. The fault was two fold really, The key read coil assembly cable was done. The electrician then found a couple of misconnected cables on the new alarm I had fitted last week. Car starts fine now :) Thx for the help Kip, by the way, do we have admissions to pay on showday ? I think I saw something on the website about £7.
  10. Well...after all the work done so far and having just spent 4 hours cleaning inside and polishing the outside it looks like my car doesn't want to join everyone at the meet. I went to put it back in the garage and it won't start :( It fires up on starting but then cuts out immediately after firing. I have no idea what the fault it is and I have my local mechanic coming up to look at it today but I don't hold out much hope of it being fixed in time. I can't believe this has happened just before my first club meeting *sigh*. It's been no problem mechanically at all since I bought it. Anyway, I'll keep you posted and I suppose I could still pop down and see you guys in the Merc...at least the weather looks good and I can have the roof down :)
  11. The handling is just fine, I did it more for looks than handling but I have to say it has improved. It wasn't lowered by much, I think it was around 25 - 30mm. I just told my local mechanic how I wanted it to look and he did the rest. He was spot on first time fitted with no further adjustments needed. A little harder obviously but not bone shaking and handles like a go cart :)
  12. Hi Kip, I have no intention at the moment of not sticking with 15" wheels, I love the handling as it is, especially after lowering it. That is my problem with getting different alloys, no one seems to make any 15" alloys that will fit the Corrado these days. I have to say though, I'm not a big fan of the speedlines and will hopefully find a good replacement that's more to my taste I will however be keeping the speedlines and having them available to a new owner of the car if and when I part with it. Junior.... I bought the coilovers (Tuning Art) from Ebay for £165, It's a company in germany and the service I got from them was prompt and efficient. They were fitted with no problem at all. They are presently advertising a different make for £199 but they may be able to get the Tuning Art coilovers if you ask. http://motors-parts.shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=corrado+coilovers&_sacat=131090&_dmpt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&_ssn=mandystrendys-shop&_odkw=&_osacat=131090&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
  13. I'm getting a little frustrated with myattempt to find some different alloys for the car. I've just been to one of the largest stockists near manchester and all they can come up with for replacement 15" alloys that will fit is a single make :( They're the Fox FX004 they're not too bad and I'll be going back tomorrow to see if these do actually fit. http://www.wheelbasealloys.com/15_Inch_Fox_FX004_Silver_Alloy_Wheels__1311 The problem I have is the tyres that came with car are still excellent with over 7mm of tread on them so I don't really want to change to 16" or 17" and have to buy new tyres. Anyway good news is that the car sailed through it's MOT with no problems at all. Looking forward to the Elsecar meeting in a couple of weeks where I'll be looking for lots of tips and advice as to where to work on next.
  14. I had the coilovers fitted last week. The ride is still good with no grounding so far, the main thing from my point of view is that it now looks like it shoould do. Last thing to do before I start work on the engine is to decide which wheels (if any) to replace the Speedlines with. I quite like the Lenso cross spokes I've seen. I would probably prefer BBS but the prices are crazy.
  15. Thanks for the info Kip, Peter's VR6 will be there :) Now all I need to decide on is wether to get new wheels before the event.....piccies of the results of the coilovers will be posted as soon as the sun shines again.
  16. I think my car will be ready to be seen in public by then so I will be coming along too.
  17. I only used the spray for the first coat. I then used a soft cloth to put a second coat of the paint on and found it was better to get into the folds and then left it for 24 hours to dry. I did use the gloss first before putting on a couple of coats of satin, again using a cloth. Not sure about the PI springs, how much would they lower the car by and how much would they cost ?. You can PM me the cost if you prefer.
  18. Wooot !! She's finally back from the paintshop. It's a great job and I can finally be seen by other Corrados without embarrasment  Next job will be to change the wheels, get a replacement sunroof (I will be asking advice on this). I may also be lowering the car a liitle, not too much, just to improve the look of it in profile. What would I need to do to lower it by 20-30mm ?
  19. The replacement wing has arrived. Many thanks to BadBoyHiggins. Quick delivery and a very nice wing for the price. It's even the right colour :) It's off to the body shop on Monday.
  20. First job is almost done. I think they've come up ok :) Can't recommend Furniture Clinic highly enough. The replacement wing is on it's way and we're all booked in for the paintwork next week
  21. Green was aways my second choice and I couldn't wait any longer
