3mm 12V LED for my Rear Heated Windscreen switch??? Been to both Halfords and Maplins and they were no help!! just had a look on line and it seems Maplins do them!! Does anyone know if it matters if the LED is not the same colour?? One last thing............. anyone know of anywhere i can get someone to solder it as i dont see the point of getting a soldering kit to do one little crappy LED AND i am NOT paying £44++++++VAT for a new switch from the Stealers!!! tahnks in advance!!

godskitchen replied to Dub_nut_g60's topic in General Car Chat
Could it be????? Did i really??? No way!!!!! yes way........................ i am 99% sure i seen Bally today, first time i have seen another member on the road, apart from meets! Bally was it really you coming out of Northampton train station??? -
Could wel be the heated seats as i did have them on at the time, but i was of the thinking the thing for the heated seats was under the back passenger side footwell???? is it not??? bloody doing my head in!!! Maybe it is a bee!!

Dont think this will really fint in ny other section so i am putting it in here! Was parked the other day with the car running and this really silly morse code like buzzing started to come from between the rear seats and the boot, everytime i got out of the car to see what it was it would stop!!!! It was loud enough to hear over the CD i was playing, any ideas anyone???????

Weird, a car firm having its own TV channel, some good stuff on it from the 70's and 80's and a time line of the company like when VW took it over. Sad but interesting stuff!
-
the way i look at it, Premer could have just said to me tat the work needed doing and got more money out of me, he said there was "nothing wrong" with the break pipes so i am happy with that and trust his judgement, he has worked on many corrados and didnt call it a Golf!!!!!!
-
yeah going to be taking the car over Bally, need to get out of Nortrampton for a while, find i am spending too much money going out at the weekends!!! I will have to meet up with you guys at some point when i am over and bore you with why the Storm is so good! lmao!! I didnt know there were so many rados over there, 3 in the car park at work??? that wouldnt even happen here!!! BTW what are you guys paying for Super over there?? Last time i filled up a car in Ireland it was a toyota yaris!!! and super was the same price as normal!! this was in Westport though, not the most advanced town in the world, stunning views though and good smoked salmon!!

bristolbaron, HA HA!!! quality!! it was indeed a good day, we will have to sort something out once the sun comes back!!!

BREAKING NEWS!!!!! Took my car to Premier this morning (had a good chat about why the storm commands more money than a "standard" VR6, no lets not start that one!) Anyway Bill the owner said he would have a look at what needs doing and call me with a price, dropped it off at 10 this morning so i called them at 2 o clock. Was told that the car was being re-mot'd, they could not find any of the problems that Tyres northampton could find! Premier have worked on many corrados as i am sure you all know and i trust them, so its either good news or the way my luck is running it will end up costing more!!! just a shame i didnt know they did MOT's to start with! Does anyone know if i can claim back the money i paid for the first MOT??? How would i word it to them? cheers people!

Just a feeler to see what kind of meets and the like go on in Ireland............ How many irish members do we have on here? i know the Corrado was never sold in Ireland so there cant be that many over there. Anyone know if there is any Storms? i will be moving to Co Leitrim. Cheers guys look forward to seeing who else is about!

i remember a while back, at the last MK meet in fact, there was about 15 Corrados , maybe more! anyway "krado" thought it would be a goo idea to park them all in the VW Stealership! funny as hell! By chance there was a Corrado in for some work and one of the "sales" guys came out to see what was going on, all he said was "I didnt know they made this many" refering to the amount of Corrados that just turned up!
-
It did say on the box that the spoiler should only be used on the drivers side, there has to be a good reason for it! On the other problems i am having, i am taking my car to Premier Power in Northampton, at least they know what they are doing, they have done some really nice Corrados in the past and their standard of work is spot on! One more thing is, when you have an mot and it fails, you have 7 days for a free retest, is there a milage limit? the guy said dont worry, but i can see them turning around and being Bas*ards!

Car left standing for 1 week Battery dead, try to jump start, Alarm goes mad and would not go off without disconnecting battery Call AA out, AA man takes out fuses for alarm I loose fuses What I need to know is what fuse the Scorpion 5000 takes, I know it has three but what numbers are they, I have looked on here and on Scorpion's Web site but found nothing. I know this may well not sort the alarm but it's worth a go, I want to have remote locking and full closure again!

Thanks guys, i have just sorted the bulb and the wipers. Bulb was easy as anything! and cost next to nothing! Wipers were a little harder to no big task, got some of halfords own about £13, came with spoiler but had to take this off to fit the things, does it really make that much difference? i can already see the difference anyway. as for the garage i am unsure what to do, think i will give them a ring tomorrow and say about if they dont sort the bonnet then i will have someone else do the work needed, but i want my free re-test, so could they just be b**tards and make stuff up to pee me off?

i have not been on here in ages, in middle of moving house and have no internet!!!!! Anyway, car went for MOT today and failed on: Offside break light not working: easy fix? should just be blub i hope! Both wiper blades need replacing: anyone have a model number from halfords?i dont want to go down the LOPO road at this point. Both of these i can do myself but the following two i will need to have done by a garage. Excessive play in near side front hub assembly: Didnt think it was bad at all myself but what can ya do! quoted at £80-£90 Near side and off side front Break pipes Corroded: knew this would need doing. Quoted at £70-£80 Now comes the really annoying part................... when the test was finished and I had paid up I come back to my car and the Bonnet is not shut correctly, so I pull on the release and its just floppy, I cant get into the bonnet now! Told them about it and they say its nothing to do with them, so I point out they hade to open it for the MOT, its one of the first things you do! So they say they cant help it if it breaks when testing the car, I can see their point of view but I would have been nice to have been told about it rather than find it for myself! I know this thread has gone on a bit but any help would be great guys, Do the quoted prices sound about right? Cheers!
-
Full service sounds about right to me, there is not to much to worry about with the car on a whole if it has been looked after and INHO 90-100k in a corrado is nothing (if it has been looked after) You will find those old funny little things coming to get you though, if not already, like the sunroof, the heater only working on setting 4, all are easy enough to fix!

UPDATE: got it sorted today!! GSF were out of the disks so went to Central Auto Supplies Pads = £19.99 + VAT Disks = £29.84 for the 2!!!!! + VAT then got my local garage to fit um for £50!! Well happy now the car stops!!
-
Yes there is scoring, so looks like new disks too! I will get a friend to take me to GSF tomorrow morning and get the bits! Will then have to find a garage to fit them the same day!! how easy will that be? humm........... Thanks for the advice guys!!
-
Nice one Supercharged, how easy is it to get discount (blood from a stone?) from VAG?? Do GSF not do them?? or am i being really stupidly thick here and not understanding?? Plus what are the key indicators to let me know if the disks are no good? i have had a good look and they dont look too bad, but then i dont really knpow how they should look, the only thing i dont want to do is go to a garage and for them to tell me i need stuff i dont! a good friend of mine runs a garage with his dad and does all my work like this, but he is on holiday for 3 weeks!! need to get it done now though!
-
Any one know how much this would be fitted? Am i better off going to GSF to get the parts and getting someone to fit them? been on GSF site and cant make head nor tail of what i need! The breaks are metal on metal at the mo and it is undrivable and frightening! Cheers!

get her away for that car! Chav bird IMHO
